EA & Crytek have announced the original Crysis will be coming to PSN & Xbox Live this October. This “remastered” edition will feature all new lighting, new effects and new Nanosuit controls. Exclusive to the PC since its launch in 2007, a whole new set of gamers will now get the chance to experience “the original, critically acclaimed, Crysis”. Debut trailer below.

I wonder whether he said “PSN/XBL” on purpose, indicating that this will be a download-only game (e.g. as a DLC to Crysis 2, maybe?), or will it be actually physically released?
Doubt it , but who knows.
I forgot to say, this is 360 footage apparently , and wondering if ps3 version slightly borked again res wise.
How much gb does it actually have?
Not gonna be small that’s for sure. PC is just over 6gb , so expect consoles to have similar size.
Main reason I’m guessing no, is crytek are greedy so and so’s and will want full price for this game.

It’s gonna cost 1600 msp or £16 on psn, and will be download only.
Relative bargain , if they’ve done decent job.
I know this game’s gonna be separate and all but, I have this itching thought that I might need my Crysis 2 copy for this…

Looking nice. Hopefully they’ve utilized the extra time they’ve had since crysis 2 to polish up cryengine3 and iron out some of issues, as crysis 2 was ridden with issues and clearly half finished. Between the shoddy ai, the sound glitch on mp, grain glitch on 360, lower res on ps3, texture pop in, failure to actually implement the gi system that was games selling point ( it was unstable so wasn’t full gi), framerates that tanked and the first third of game having more frame rate issues and feeling like it was tacked on to make game seem longer, I just ended up feeling cheated by the game. It was supposed to be a technical masterpiece and ended up being a ok game with good parts to it and above average visuals, but shed loaf of issues.
Worst of all, was crytek’s support of the game after release, with no fix for sound glitch, grain glitch or shit ai, and have now abandoned all support on consoles.
I want this game, but will pick up from bargain bin, as too many good titles out over next few months to give shot about this right now.
One thing I hated about Crysis 2 was it’s glitches. I don’t know if anyone experience this glitch but whenever I’m battling huge enemies, my weapon (usually an RPG or any big gun) won’t reload. Tried dying and spawning on a checkpoint and still it won’t reload. I had to practically exit and play the entire mission all over again.
Aside from that, there were a ton more of glitches to go by. It felt like the game was rushed or hasn’t undergone any proper quality assurance.
I’ve never played Crysis 2. Not a fan of FPS genre, however my best friend was playing it one time and multiple times the same thing happened. He had one round left for the RPG and it wouldn’t reload either. The only weapon I saw it happen on was the RPG.
When I think about it, it wasn’t only the RPG or machine gun which refused to reload but also the greanades, c4, and even the handgun. Although the RPG was much more common.
Played it on the PC before, so i’m not looking forward to it
Ugh frist off why not disc form? physical > digital I hope PSN & LIVE both get hacked the day this gets release.
anyways i’ll probably download this sometime next year before i get around to Crysis 2 I am glad i’ve never got around to Crysis 2 now I can play both 1 & 2

LOL, I will never lose any real info. I don’t use CCs online because basicly i don’t believe in online shoping. All of my real PSN info has been remove since after the hack and I don’t use LIVE since I refuse pay for it.

Hopefully they can make it in HD this time, better AA, better motion blur, fully dynamic lightning, better draw distance, stable framerate, better textures and better animations. If they can achive all that then it’ll maybe fulfill the graphical hope we had for Crysis 2. But considering Crysis 1 is much bigger than Crysis 2 I believe we’ll see quite the opposite.
Oh, goodie. We finally get to see the gloriously pared-down versions the former graphics king. Words can’t express how unthinkably grateful I feel towards the ever godly Crytek. And such an incredibly wise decision it is to only release this game only through digital distribution, this will surely eliminate textures and geometries pop-ins, and I’m sure loading times will be lightning fast, too. These newly revised versions are probably so good, the console versions of Battlefield 3 would seems like garbage next to it. Killzone 3′s graphics probably isn’t even half as good as this game. Crytek you guys are the best developers ever. You are gods!
lol the 360 will explode by just seeing the disc!!! Another thing with the PS3 obviously since it is obviously much more powerful.

Knowing Crytek and seeing that we’ve only gotten Xbox 360 footage, the PS3 version is probably going to be a crappy port. I’ll stick to my PC for Crysis, and if I want an amazing graphical hit on consoles, I’ll play Uncharted 3.
Lighting looks even better! But explosions are fucked… I played the demo on my poor 9500 gt and warhead too… Dont know if I will get this
Its nice to see games like this coming to consoles, based on the video, it will have acceptable visual candy.
Based on some comments I see some guys were umpleased to see the xbox 360 version was chosen to show the game. Given the fact that this site is visited by xbox and ps3 fanboys, but serious gamers as well, I have my opinion for each faction:

Yeah, that looks like low to medium settings on PC. That and I can tell that there’s barely any anti-aliasing and it’s running in Sub-HD. For a 4 year old game, I’ll stick to my PC copy of it.
what were u expecting lol? it’s not like 360 is suddenly gonna be able to magically do 720p with aa etc without tiling. They unlike Dice with BF3 have just gone for the standard, quick option of making sure image fits in edram and thats it.
if theyve managed to tidy it up a bit, and iron out some kinks of cryengine 3 present in crysis 2 , then they’ll have done a good job. They’re devs that dont believe in heavy optimisation clearly, they just throw as much ram at a game as they can. Good devs with super pc’s, average without all that power. Hence ps3 version suffered slightly last time.
I think ps3 version will fare a little better in this version, as theyve had lots of time to refine engine since crysis 2. Who knows, maybe theyve even got their GI system working now(it was the main selling point of crysis 2, but they didnt actually manage to truly implement it)
I would rather buy the PS3 version over the 360. I hope they didn’t gimp it.
Played it years ago but really interesting to know how well will it perform on console. Thought its impossible for console but once again we are proven wrong… Crytek doing great by doing the impossible.
Its impossible to run the cry engine 2 on consoles, not the actual game.
What about Warhead?
The game is in terms of graphics is awesome but, interms of A.I. is like Forrest Gum. That is unacceptable.
