Shigeru Miyamoto has announced he will be stepping down from his current position as head of game design at Nintendo to work on smaller titles. Maiyamoto has created some of the most original and rich franchises the industry has ever seen with Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda being the most popular.

It looks like all the pestering and petitions have worked, Xenoblade Chronicles is coming to North America on the Nintendo Wii. Jump inside for the details.

There is a very oddly titled game series out there. It started out as “Mobile Light Force” and came out on PlayStation. It’s sequel, “Mobile Light Force 2″ came out for PS2. What is the game? Well you often hear, “Never judge a book by its cover,” but this is a Video Game. If you see 3 women wearing leather, shooting guns with robots flying around in a destroyed city, of course means its a game with a Blond Dude wearing a Jet-Pack, a Witch on a broomstick, and an old white bearded gay man in a foot peddle powered helicopter….

Xenoblade Chronicles is the Latest game from Monolith Soft, the creators of the entire Xenogears Saga. The game was released over a year ago and Japan for the Wii,  and was just recently given a release date in Europe. Sadly however, there are no plans on the game being released in North America, but “Operation Rainfall” is hoping to change that…

Nintendo has released a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. With the Wii U announced today Skyward Sword is likely to be one of the last “major” titles released for the Wii. The game is scheduled to be released Q4 2011. Show a little love for Link,  one of the greatest heroes the gaming industry has ever seen by hitting that play button after the jump.

As we get closer to Nintendo’s big E3 reveal of their next major home console, speculation on the specs of the machine have been all over the place. We’ve heard it will display 1080p HD graphics equal or better to those found on either the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. Nintendo has officially announced the successor to the Wii. The new system will make its’ first appearance at this years E3 and be released sometime in 2012. Not much else is known about the system besides a few small hints from company President Satoru Iwata.

Wii 2, or Wii HD (whichever name you’d like) news has been burning up the Internet today. It all started with an article from Game Informer which stated that “multiple sources have confirmed the new Nintendo HD console”. Now even more “sources” in the industry are beginning to say the same thing – Wii HD is indeed coming, but now there’s a twist – it’ll be more powerful than the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
