“Sony chief information officer, Shinji Hasejima made an astounding and disturbing admission in the Tokyo press conference: the company was fully aware of the “vulnerabilities” in PlayStation Network.
In the interview Hasejima stated: “The vulnerability of the network was a known vulnerability, one known of in the world. But Sony was not aware of it… was not convinced of it. We are now trying to improve aspects of it.”
“We thought we had taken enough management and control measures (to ensure the network was secure), but looking back, there might have been room for further enhancement,” Shiro Kambe added, “We have to admit we were not fully sufficient.”
Even forgiving the shortsightedness of the lack of proper security and fooling themselves into thinking it was sufficient, the question still remains: when Sony realized it had been hacked and millions of user accounts were compromised, why were they silent, shutting down PSN without reason then finally admitting a week later to people their credit cards might or might not be secure?”

Soo they are tard ??
Basically you rushed it SONY, we know that. You had to compete with XBL so you launched PSN as soon as possible.
Just make sure it doesn’t happen again.
psn in some form has been around since 2004 on ps2.. 7 years is not rushing, its pure f’up.
Wow. Rushing? I don’t think so. Arrogant? Yep that’s it. They knew about the problems that could potentially give access to the 75 million accounts they had, yet they did nothing. Now the customers are the ones at risk. They want us to trust them again? I think not.
Go make TV’s Sony.
its ok sony, its ok
We knew about it Sony.
Naa OMAXUS, They went full retard on it. Everybody knows you never go full retard.
Good call on the Tropic Thunder reference!
You been talking to me this whole time?!
“I don’t read the script, the script reads me.”
lol. Caught him trying to re enter the earths orbit in a refrigerator box.
How do you spell idiots?
S-O-N-Y.
I’m so pissed, damm sony, If you know the vunerability what a hell? You never consider just fix it? Hell I miss pc gamming.
In before android123 and buying1999, woot.
Not a good move Sony… But we understand… As long as you guys bring PSN back, stronger than ever, everything will be okay.
Sony just put cross game chat on psn and we will forget this ever happend!
wow just wow…… how low can they go…
Sony should just change the name of the Playstation network to the Playstation NOTwork. Anyway, where the hell are the full H2H for Mortal Kombat and Portal 2?
They are probably waiting for the Piece of Shit Network, or psn for short, to get back online so they can include online multiplayer gameplay into the h2h of p2 and mk.
Sony didn’t admit that they knew about vulnerabilities, they said there were vulnerabilities that they weren’t aware of.
“The vulnerability of the network was a known vulnerability, one known of in the world. But Sony was not aware of it… was not convinced of it. We are now trying to improve aspects of it.”
Also. Sony didn’t wait a week after they knew about personal information being stolen. They confirmed personal information was taken a day before we were told. The day PSN was taken down they only noticed that someone was messing around in the PSN. So they shut down PSN to have a look at it. They got three different teams to look at it and the third team confirmed on the fifth day that all PSN information was stolen but couldn’t verify if CC information has been stolen. One day after, the sixth day, we were told that our information was compromised. So they didn’t tell us because they needed to confirm if anything even happened in the first place.
What would have happened on day one. “We noticed someone was poking around the PSN so we took it down, we are not sure but information could have been taken.” Then when they get finished researching they find out that nothing was touched. They’d have the same thing that’s going on right now even if everything was fine. You have to do research before you can tell what may or may not have happened.
next time I will use psn prepaid card to topup my psn wallet..
“next time?” the damage is done.
thats like getting herpes and saying, “next time i wont bang that whore”
Yeah except fraud is reversible and reoccurances can be prevented, unlike herpes lawlz.
