One difference we noticed right off out of the box between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was the size of the world map included in each. Yes, the world map. It’s not often in this day in gaming for developers to included cool items like this, but thankfully Bethesda has  (cool items are usually saved for more expensive Collector’s Editions).  Hop inside to see the clear winner of this odd comparison.

As you can see in the pics above, deciding a winner in this comparison is fairly easy. Now, will a bigger physical world map do anything to improve you gamplay experience with Skyrim? Not at all. However we wanted to inform those gamers who like extras like this that there is indeed a difference between the two. Why such a “big” difference? Well, it’s pretty obvious the less appealing looking green Xbox 360 case is bigger — providing the space for the larger map.  Also, the paper quality is much different. The PS3 uses the same material that the manuals are made of. On the other hand, the Xbox map has a nice rigged surface texture on it. Similar to what you see with expensive resume paper,  it adds a nice sense of realism. Until then, enjoy this incredible game!

NOTE: These are both the North American versions of Skyrim.
