Mass Effect 2 was launched, selling over 2 million copies in the first week according to 1up.com and receiving a Metacritic score of 96. With numbers like that, Lens of Truth had to take a closer look at Mass Effect 2. What better way than a Mass Effect Evolution? Sit back as we take a look at how the universe of Mass Effect has changed over the years.
For our first Flash Review of the New Year, we “strip” down Bayonetta, a Hack n’ Slash title starring an oversexed, Umbra Witch, with a lust for annihilating angels. The only problem is that she doesn’t know why. Check out this Review to see if Bayonetta can stand up to the men who dominate this genre, or if she should have been burned at the stake along with her sisters.
This week Lens of Truth puts Dark Void under our lens to see which version can escape the Bermuda Triangle and return as winner of this week’s Head2Head. But first we would like to thank our always reliable sponsor Play N Trade (Oviedo) for supplying us with yet another great game to analyze for this Head2Head. As always, Lens of Truth was able to find some differences between the two versions, so if you’re interested in which version is worth taking the $60 plunge, watch the video and read on because you are in for quite a ride.
In this Head2Head the Lens of Truth takes a look at the retail versions of Army of Two: The 40th Day. Supplied by Play N Trade (Oviedo), this sequel throws you right into action and lets you know there is no time to waste. Watch the video and read on for an in-depth analysis.
Update: After some re-analysis of the footage, it seems that our numbers were inaccurate during some terrifically “tear-iffic” scenes. Special thanks to ps360 for pointing this out! That being said, the analyzer has been re-tooled and is now better than ever. The stats and links below have been updated to reflect the new, accurate video and footage.
Finally, Tecmo has brought the original Ninja Gaiden to a home console without being an unlockable. Thats right, Ninja Gaiden was originally an unforgiving “quarter eater”, at your local arcade. When it finally reached the NES, Ninja Gaiden was given a major overhall. In fact, the game was redesigned from the ground up. See if this was the right move after the jump.
WiiWare’s next game to receive the Rebirth upgrade is Castlevania: The Adventure. This game released way back in 1989 on the original Gameboy. Thankfully, Nintendo gave this game a major Rebirthing. Check out why after the jump.
Thanks again to Play n Trade Oviedo for supplying us with yet another great game to compare. Before we continue on to the Head2Head, here’s a brief description of what to expect. The game takes its inspiration from the apocalypse and battle of Armageddon described in the Book of Revelation, with the player taking the role of “War”, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of mankind, War, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell.
A few weeks ago Capcom announced the upcoming release of Mega Man 10 on the Wii. Since then we have learned that Mega Man will be available for the XBox 360 and PS3. Now Capcom has released the debut trailer. Check it out after the jump.
As 2009 comes to a close, the Lens of Truth stops and takes a look back at the games that got us through the year. Those of you who’ve been there from the beginning can vouch for our growth. Some things we did well, sometimes our voice cracked from “website puberty”, but rest assured, we came out with more hair on our chest.
No one knows how to celebrate a holiday like Sega! What other Company would give away a special holiday version of their, then “franchise” title? You can count the list with one finger. Maybe that’s why Sega is no longer in the console business. I’m only kidding. Giving away Christmas Nights into Dreams had absolutely nothing to do with the demise of Sega. If anything, it should have only helped the company along. Find out if this rare holiday disc is worth the hunt in our latest retro Review.
Just in time for the holidays, we get a wonderful tale of death, revenge, and reclamation. No it isn’t the story of the Ten Commandments, it is the tale of Kratos, the God of War. Now check out this retro Review to see if all the hype surrounding this Spartan is really worth it, or if Kratos should have been left on the Island of Misfit Toys with the rest of the Hack n’ Slash titles.
Welcome back for another exciting Head2Head brought to you by our friends at Play N Trade (Lake Mary). This week the Lens of Truth was initially going to analyze The Saboteur, but due to some unforeseen issues with the PlayStation 3 we were unable to do so. Fortunately, that wasn’t the only game of interest this week. We have wanted to do Avatar for some time now but never got the chance. Well, now’s our chance. So if Avatar is on your list for Santa then you’re gonna want to stick around to see which game landed on the naughty list.
