Lens of Truth at E3 ’2010 – News from the E3 Expo floor

Wanted to bring you guys some news from the Expo show floor. What’s that you say? The show floor isn’t open yet? Well that’s odd cause I already walked the main floor! I’m gonna hazard to guess I probably shouldn’t have been there considering the entire floor is still under construction. So needless to say there’s no way I could have taken pictures without being caught. But I walked the floor for a while already and I can tell you that this is gonna be a great show. If there’s anything you guys want me to focus on more, just let me know ;) Considering how unfinished the floor is at this moment, the ground crew deserve some mad props for getting the show ready for tomorrow. No doubt they’re gonna be working through the night.

Then read on for an in-depth analysis.

On Tuesday, June 8, 2010, the Lens of Truth had the privilege to sit in on a Full Sail University panel starring some of the team members from Rockstar: San Diego as they discussed their newest venture, Red Dead Redemption. The panel of eleven included Art Department Director Joshua Bass, Director of Technology, Derek Tarvin, and Full Sail graduates Chris Bourassa (2006), Corey Shay (2006), Donald “DJ” Jones (2006), Danny Bulla (2006), Ryan Paradis (2006), Nicholas Zippmann (2006), John Diaz (2006), Scott Schoennagel (2003), and Jason “Jay” Knobler (2006).  The panel members shared video, stories from their experiences on RDR, discussed their individual roles on the project, and didn’t deny that there may be an announcement from Rockstar at E3 next week.

retro Head2Head: Mortal Kombat

This game set the bar for graphic violence in a fighting game but only one version actually let you take the carnage home. Head2Head: Skate 3 Analysis

Head2Head: Skate 3 Analysis

Welcome back for another exciting Head2Head, presented by Play N Trade, Oviedo, FL. Skate 3 is a more realistic approach to the genre, unlike Tony Hawk’s franchise which has an over the top tricks and combos system. Skate 3 is EA’s third installment with this successful franchise, and it has been a year since its predecessor, Skate 2,  launched. This week we decided it was time to switch gears and freestyle our way through the various cities and parks of Skate 3 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Sit back an enjoy the ride while LoT grinds out which version of Skate 3 is worth your hard earned dollars, and which version leaves you with road rash.

inFocus – Alan Wake Review

inFocus – Alan Wake Review

It’s been a long time coming, but after its official announcement at E3 2005, Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake is finally here. I guess, as with creating anything good, these things take time. As for Alan, (a best selling crime fiction author) he hasn’t been able to write anything for 2 years now. He and his wife, Alice, decide a trip to the lush countryside of Bright Falls may be just what he needs to give him back that creative spark. Is it? Or is this a story better left unpublished? Shine your light on our latest inFocus review to find out.

Head2Head: Red Dead Redemption Screenshot Comparison

Head2Head: Red Dead Redemption Screenshot Comparison

Lens of Truth took a look at Red Dead Redemption in this Head2Head, presented by Play N Trade, Oviedo, FL. With Rockstar’s long line of open world games, this western based game pushed the genre into the seldom charted era with the style, story, and gameplay you’ve come to expect from the creators of Grand Theft Auto. So saddle-up as the Lens of Truth circles the wagons and analyzes Red Dead Redemption.

inFocus – Splinter Cell: Conviction Review

inFocus – Splinter Cell: Conviction Review

Sam Fisher returns to action in Splinter Cell: Conviction, the fifth installment of Tom Clancy’s  Splinter Cell series. This time, Sam’s a little older, a little wiser, and a little - actually - a lot pissed off.  Does he still have what it takes to deliver us a thrilling action game, or should he be reserving a room at the old folks home next to Solid Snake’s? Find out in our latest inFocus review.

inFocus – Super Street Fighter IV Review

inFocus – Super Street Fighter IV Review

As time has told, it wouldn’t be long before the “Super” version of Street Fighter IV was released. With ten new combatants (2 new to the franchise), a host of improved online modes, and the return of the bonus stage, could this installment of Street Fighter stand up to the speed of “Hyper Fighting” or the power of “Third Strike”. Check out this inFocus to find out if this new challenger stands a chance.
