Game Informer has confirmed a new Gears of War title is in the works. The game will be the cover story of the magazine’s July issue. A full reveal will be coming during Microsoft’s E3 press conference on Monday. Have a look at the cover below. One must ask the question: Who is in chains, and where?
We’ll find out on Monday. We have to say, we thought Gears of War 3 finished off the series in grand fashion, and we hope this new installment continues the trend and is not too much of a good thing too soon. Give us your thoughts on this news below.

I absolutly love this series but it feels like its too soon. Unless Microsoft is coming out with its next gen hardware and Gears is headling the launch, let DOM RIP with the rest of the COGS on 360.
My guess: a downloadable game or spin-off/prequel whatever (since it’s not Epic) and a proper Gears title using UE4 for Durango.

This is going to be awesome!!! Not some Tomb Raider copy like uncharted. Great story, great history, great characters, on SUPERIOR hardware!!!! This game will set a new high mark for graphics fidelity and gameplay in the console space. Drake who???? Oh yeah that Laura Croft impersonator LOL. ONLY on the SUPERIOR XBOX 360..BANG!!!

for once we can ALMOST agree. Looking forward to this. Awesome series. Other than Halo, its the best offering from Xbox. Its quality. Thts for sure.
And at the end of the day, that Tomb Raider rip off will be the higher rated series as always. :3
Hope this game actually supports AA and vsynced performance considering it’s running on such powerful hardware. Lol
Could always use less clunky controls as well.
People actually give fanboys such as Buying1999 thumbs up? This reminds me of a quote from George Carlin: “Just think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are even stupider!”. Seriously, the IQ level here drops down to almost zero every time an article involving a single console shows up.

thought gears 3 was best in series, but offered nothing new at all
better script and characterisation couldnt save the game from repetitive nature.
this series should be laid to rest.

lol The demo I played had some of the worst dialogue, writing and voice acting I’ve experienced in such an overrated series.

It definitely improved in those areas and the game play was solid , even if unspectacular and unimaginative the controls were tight, and yes they’re bit clunky, but compared to mp3 , they’re fantastic beyond words.(game has no roll ffs)
Good series, just not great imo, story telling and general lack of innovation stop them being great.I loved first range at time, but that’s long time ago, expect more than same thing with different colour scheme
We all know this is going to be a prequel or spin-off. I wouldn’t be surprised if they went first-person either.
The first three games were great so a new Gears is always welcome. Although I think this may be too soon considering Gears 3 only just came out last year. It’ll most likely be a fall 2013 release.
Maybe this is the first game in the rumoured prequel trilogy being developed by the team that made bulletstorm.
No game beats how fun the first Gears of war was online. I still play it to this day and i don’t plan on stopping! I got so into it that i was in a about 15 different clans on Gamebattles. When they announced Gears 2 i was super excited and made sure i pre-ordered the limited edition but once i actually got to play it i was really let down. They changed the controls and your character felt super heavy, I think i played it for about a week before i traded it in and got Gears 1 back. Epic said they fixed the heavy feel and different controls in Gears 3 but it was still terrible compared to the first game. I really hope that this one goes back to the days of Gears 1 where it actually took skill to win!

Oh man I would be all over that, but I can’t see it happening anytime soon considering how UT 3 was kind of a fail for most people.
My favorite UT was the first one. I had so many good memories with that game. I did get UT 2003 which was alright but 2004 was too similar and number 3 just didn’t have that spark any more.
It’s a prequel. Anyone remember how Gears 1 started with Marcus getting out of jail? And this cover shows (presumably Marcus) going to jail?

I like Gears but how the hell can the continue with this awful story? Jesus Microsoft must be forcing EPIC to make another.
