If you were hoping to see a new installment in the Jak & Daxter or Crash Bandicoot series on the PlayStation 3, Naughty Dog has some bad news for you.
In an interview with TheGamersHub, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception assistant producer Victor Harris was asked if we would ever see a new Jak & Daxter on PlayStation 3 in the near future to which Victor replied;
“Naughty Dog is a one franchise per-console company and Playstation 3 is Uncharted.”
Bad news right there for Jax & Daxter fans (and even Crash Bandicoot fans). Although it’s indeed tough to argue with anything Naughty Dog says or does, how do you guys feel about this? Should Uncharted be the only franchise from Naughty Dog we see on the PlayStation 3? Let us know!

interesting… Thats means a new ip next generation
That means, Uncharted will never be in PS4
so what?, i really enjoy uncharted, but i dont want another Halo, cod, etc… Fresh meat always rulez
you’re right
Naughty Dog’s Ideas never end.
This news isn’t very surprising. It’s been a while since I seen any new J&D or Crash games. I love Crash Bandicoot, mostly because my introduction to the PS1 was the original Crash. But those days are long gone and the new crash games just leave something to be desired, especially in comparison to games like Ratchet and Clank (and the platformer king, Super Mario, which is in a league of his own).
it’s a shame. Jak & Daxter blew me away on the PS3. But it’s good to see a developer sticking to thier guns and concentrating on what they do best, instead of spreading themselves too thin.
Naughty Dog claims to be with uncharted after Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception but are the forgetting a uncharted racing game?

like the pic says ….just saying
lol XDDDDDDDDDDDDD
They would have never had the time to dedicate to another franchise.
Noughty Dog are professionals: work on one and do it unbeatable.
It’s a good thing and a bad thing. The bad thing is that we don’t get to see HD crash (it would have looked amazing. Anyone seen the original running on the cryengine lately?) or HD Jak,
BUT,
ND have the time to make games of the highest quality. If they had to focus on multiple projects they would be like CoD under Activision with titles never changing and blah blah.
Though, Assassins Creed 2 and its 2 (Full Game) expansions (Brotherhood and Revelations) are 3 years between them, 1 each year. the first 2 sold and scored very well, and the third will most likely to.
But then, focusing on multiple different titles would probably cause them to lose magic in the respective titles. So I say 1 franchise per console is the way (although, only for the highest rated developers and series).
I mean’t “PS2″ before. Not 3. lol. Nice avatar DYLAN_2202. Where’s Android123???
So no Uncharted on ps4?…. bad news…
Daxter I miss you ú_ú
I Am A Big Fanboy of Naughty Dog……haters……
Naughty Dog wouldn’t be Sony’s best first party developer if they didn’t do their own thing. I enjoy the fact that They develope new IP’s, instead of milking the hell out of one. Just throw a Jak Collection our way, and I’ll be happy *Cough* Bungie *Cough Cough*. I can’t wait to see what ND has in store for us on the Playstation 4.
I can see it all now, ND ending the Uncharted franchise with an Uncharted Team Cart Racing on PS3.
i thought they didnt have crash anymore anyway.
and do portables count?
This is good Naught Dog are a VERY good proffesional company and they dont want to faff about continuing old IP’s they want to concentrate on ONE thing and put all effort and recorses into it and make it the BEST it can be.
Other dev’s need to take note of what Naught Dog do, its the best way to make a game the best it can be. Which Is why Uncharted is so good.
Anything they make in the future wether it be uncharted or a new IP will be one of the best games there is. Its Naughty Dog, it what they do.
I wonder what will happen if they sell uncharted to another company like they did to Crash Bandicoot.
I think they were just contracted to do the first 3 and the crash IP was owned by someone else. Crash Bandicoot The wrath of Cortex was on the ps2, albeit it wasn’t made by ND but i thought it was still quite good,
P.S ND sound badass: We’re “a one franchise per-console company”
ND Dev: I’m a one serve per-woman man
chaaaa
Thing is they can’t sell Uncharted or Jak. Only Sony can because, not only does Sony own ND, they also own the intellectual properties to those franchises, and given the resounding success that the UC series has seen,so I doubt they’ll ever sell it. Sony is the one thatm originally sold Crash, by the way.
Some time ago I read about a guy working on a Crash Bandicoot remake on CryEngine 2. There was a video of it as well, look it up if you want to see it.
Uncharted is godly. Will play any Uncharted except Vita Uncharted
Uncharted 2, to me, was just more of the same. Not a bad thing (though I’m a little surprised it was reviewed so well), but I’m not making a big deal of uncharted 3, as I think it’ll do the same thing, just a different local.
The fact that that’s all they’re making for the ps3 is a little disheartening.
