While we do know a little bit about the story and characters in Naughty Dog’s recently announced PS3 exclusive, The Last Of Us, surely there is much more to find out. Well, it seems there are more clues in the game’s debut trailer, if fans spend the time trying to find them…
Evan Wells told the PS Blog in an interview with PSBlog:
“Keep watching the trailer over and over again. Lots of clues and little teases in there about what the game is about, but you’re gonna find out more in the coming months.”

Really? I see you bought the $ony propaganda hook line and sinker. All they showed was a CGI movie, nothing a Sega Dreamcast couldn’t do. Why didn’t they show in game footage? Wake up, dude…you’re being led along like mindless sheep to graze in a pasture of lies!!
So you question ND even after the Uncharted series? You prolly still think that the 360 is pushing graphical boundaries for consoles as well, huh?

SYNC, it is all about building suspence, intrigue and getting ppl talking. And by the looks of the forums on just about every gaming site on the internet, its working very well.
There is no greater a target market than an Xbot. Microsoft are master manipulators and the fact you honestly believe the Xbox is the superior machine, puts you in NO position criticise others fro buying into hype.
Now lets be honest. This is Naughty Dog. Nuff said.
Sync, for the 1000th time, that video has been rendered on real time on PS3. That’s what Naughty Dog explicitly confirmed at least twice after many Xbot losers denied it.
Deal with it, your xjunk is just a good paperweight. The PS3 has potential that still has to be discovered. It can very well go on for another 10 years, just like the PS2 is doing.

So the fact ND actually state that the last of us trailer has been captured directly from ps3 hmm I think if was CGI ND wouldn’t of come out and made the statement they did. After all the trailer looked cool so they didn’t need to say anything but because they obviously proud of their achievement, they wanted to share that with us. Then you get 360 bum boys who now have Alan wake 2 (even though first game wasn’t much of a success) with average graphics and shows it. So I understand you being abit pissed off. You know with this on ps3, plus starhawk, dust514 etc or are you pissed that the best 360 game category at the vga2011 had a multiplat game win with gears 3 (your best game) get nothing lol.
Guys, fellas, sheep….Sony has done this before…they show this awesome pre-rendered footage claiming to be what the game will look like, then when the game comes out it looks nothing like this. Sure, it’ll have some neat graphics and whatnot, but no where near this level. Why do you guys keep drinking the Kool-aid? Open your eyes and see…you’re all being duped. Sony thinks of you as nothing but mindless fools who believe everything they say. You’re all lost in a desert of propaganda where Sony is giving you sand to drink and telling you it’s water….and you’re all believing it. Whenever this game comes out maybe then you’ll see the truth. You poor sheep….
Tell me SYNC, how are microsoft any different. The thing that immediately comes to mind is the first advertising showcase for Kinect (project Natal). Remember? The kid doing karate moves to control his character in a Tekken like fighter…..or acting as if he is riding a skateboard in real life with the Tony Hawk style game? And look how that turned out. That was the most blatant example of product misrepresentation I have ever seen.
Anyway buddy, I applaud your courage in entering this minefield of Sony fans to stand your ground. None of us here who are excited about this seemlingly ground breaking title are fully convinced. We just know what to expect from ND. We will make our own minds up when the gameplay footage is revealed.
I wonder how would this game look like in game play wise. Can’t wait to see this game. Don’t get me wrong, I love Uncharted, but I guess ND should start another project, and I’m ready to move from uncharted to another one.
Can’t wait to see how this game turns out, but I guess all the “clues and teases” only the developers would see/get, because i’ve watched this trailer 3 times and still don’t see any clues about what the game is about other than the human race being taken over by zombifying fungi.

the clues i get from the trailer is
1)its set in the future and the population is low
2)its a survival horror u can tell becuz of the mood and tention and the fact the girl took extra time to serch the dead bobdy for…u guessed it bullets lol
Yes, another 10 years before disappearing from the shelves. The PS2 is still selling good numbers (year 11). In 5 years a PS3, with Blu Ray Drive, 256GB HDD (at least. Maybe SSD at that time) may cost as little as $150. Even less. Super slim. Another 10 years and it will cost just nothing. The game library will be huge. It does 3D games and movies at 720p at least. Games like this or Assassin’s Creed Revelations (just to mention one available) show how software development matters a lot. The HW is there, the games are still getting better. The current PC powerhouses at the end just have better frame rates and no tearing. Ok, bigger maps in BF3. That’s it. The higher resolution is unneeded, since televisions are capped at 1080p. And who wants to play videogames in a small monitor. Just the PC fanatics.
Only Sony can kill the PS3, but they said since the beginning that the PS3 production cycle will be [at least] 10 years. There are many people buying their 1st PS3 just now. Even the Xbox for what it matters. Not to mention the ugly Wii!!
There are not even rumors about a PS4. Few about a new Xbox. And the Wii U doesn’t seem to be much more powerful than the actual HD consoles. Nintendo has to stay cheap to compete. We’ll see how it will sell next year.
@michelasso… Regarding the PS4. My friend was hired by naughty dog in may, i thought he had been working on uncharted 3. I figured it all out after Last of Us trailer and got confirmation;
“Haha, I never said I was working on uncharted. I can tell you PS4 isn’t coming any time soon or I would be working on it, but I’m sure it will come in the next few years.”
I think he is lying. he’s LEGALLY bound to lie to me or at least not tell me the truth.
Wii U is coming out in about 6-8 months right? we can sit here and talk about how short-sighted the spec sheet is, how we’d rather wait for a real system that is (more) future-proof, and joke about zelda remakes all we want… (and we’d be right, except about zelda)
but the truth is the wii u will have enough horsepower to achieve much better parity with the PC versions of games (assuming they get good 3rd party support)—-this means—>
1.next xbox must be announced officially with a tentative official release date BEFORE wii u hits shelves (stop ppl from buying). these analysts saying 2014-15 is the earliest are going to be plain wrong (dude these guys don’t even game, its the same people saying why get a 3ds/vita when iphone is here), the technology to build the next gen has been here & is getting cheaper, the risk of letting wii u get a 18month!!!! jump is not worth the reward of making sure we’re “ready”. (look at the news reports now, new lead designer for next xbox, 2013 is the bet)
2. Both wii u, and the immanent nexbox release/announcement WILL force sony’s hand. theyre ready this time tho. 3 games that need to release with PS4 god of war 4, killzone 4 (havent heard much on either front, have we? ok ok kz3 jus came out…)ANDDDD NAUGHTY DOG.
***normally a studio is 50 ppl, ND doubled it they got 2 teams of 50 (one team is working on DLC… ha) and the other is furiously finishing last of us (my boy is getting worked bad he doesnt even have time to game)** that means pretty soon the studio will have 100 ppl… huge…
so E3 nexbox announced, summer wii u, before holidays ps4 announced and promised by holiday 2013. I’m calling it. I very well may be wrong… but i’m sure u can at least see the logic for my theory, if nothing else it WOULD HAVE been a good reason to release next gen in 2013.
P.S. that troll from last “last of us” post was talkin about dev kits bein spec’d higher… no dude… i dont know what u picture when u hear “dev kit” but its basically software to program and a ps3/xbox with a lot more wires sticking out the back (inputs for comp)…

This will be more focused on survival, and less of a shooter as bullets are obviously scarce. Lots of hiding, sneaking and inventive ways of killing I imagine. Melee combat, crude weapons a plenty. Thats all I can really gather without reading too much into things anyway….
Cant wait to hear more from this in the coming months! Trailer looks gorgeous and the setting + characters are so well made. It’s just sad that I don’t own PS3

Well, I don’t know. What I know is that I read a year or so ago that a Sony rep said that Sony won’t invest again in such a new architecture like the Cell CPU for a console (which has been a mistake he recognized) and will use chips already in the market for the PS4.
But my point is another. The CPU/GPU power is already so high that there will be few games needing the full potential of next gen consoles. PC games only aren’t necessarily better than PS3 exclusives. Whatever the PC fanboys say. The question is if the market is willing to fork out again a lot of money just to have some slightly better graphics and performances. Wii U is a must for Nintendo, the Wii was old since the beginning (and still it has been one of the most successful consoles ever. Still outselling the PS3 some weeks). They need an HD console. But Sony and MS? They have them already.
Personally I don’t have the need for a PS4. I won’t spend money in the next few years for a console that will play the same games of the PS3, just enhanced. This is something MS and Sony are for sure deeply considering. It gives no market advantage to come out with the most powerful console while at the end the current one are good enough for most of the games. It can end up in a flop.
Which is the same reasoning of the smartphone users: “I already have a powerful phone, why do I need to invest in a handheld just fpr videogames? The phone satisfies my mobile gaming needs already!” But only the number can talk. We’ll see.

i dont feel that way ps2 died in 2006 in my eyes and 2 me the only way ps3 will last another 10 years is if thats how long it takes for ps4 to hit
First off, sync is either LoT staff just taking people for a ride with a prank account (ala buying1999) or really is one of the other legitimate sociopathic trolls using a different account. Whatever the case, don’t feed the troll people. Anyone who knows anything about the last 10-20 years of video games knows that LoU trailer is all game engine rendered and as graphical masterpieces like Uncharted 2 & 3, Heavy Rain, God of War 3 and Killzone 3 have proven, will look every bit as good if not better by the time it releass. Especially with geniuses like ND at the helm.
But on to more important things shall we?
Clues, clues, clues
Well co-op play for one. It’s gotta be in there. So many hints in the trailer and the ND forums have been blowing up for years requesting full co-op campaigns in Uncharted series. Although those prayers have yet to be answered, we all know how ND loves to answer the calls of their fans and hates to leave them hanging. Maybe the Last of Us will be the opportune time to fulfill that particular fan wish.
Unique melee combat co-operative combos in which the player (whether in co-op or solo) can use both characters to takedown enemies in the same manner seen in the trailer
It is possible there are other survivors who will play major roles in the story as the game progresses.
Maybe this franchise is intended to be a series. A new post-apocalyptic adventure for the duo to experience with each installment, perhaps?
I recognize that actress or at least her likeness playing the girl. The one from Hard Candy, X-Men, Inception and other films. Forgot her name. Irrelevant to clues but just saying…
Players can loot their fallen enemies and search the environments for survival materials and it will probably play a big part in overall gameplay.
Maybe this might be an open world title? It doesn’t have to be but just think of the possibilities.
That’s enough for now. Can’t wait for ND to reveal the official hints.
