If some recently discovered patents by Microsoft are what the company has in store for us, we’ll all be wearing helmets while gaming in the future…
Website Patent Bolt has found plans for two types of projector eyewear filed by Microsoft back in 2010. The one on the right would be used for gaming, while the sunglass looking glasses would be used with smartphones and other handheld devices.
The headsets will be able to deliver 16:9 ratio images that will appear to the wearer as a 21-inch display being viewed at arm’s length. The eyewear could also potentially be used to create stereoscopic 3D images, and the lenses can still be transparent, allowing for augmented reality applications, reports Game Informer. The full rundown of the patent can be viewed over at Patent Bolt.

Cool tech and stuff. But I have to say this. If I walked in a room filled with idiot’s wearing helmets shouting crap at their Kinect i’d have to classify them as retards. Retards with poor vision. This isn’t exactly a good idea but it is cool nonetheless.
Hmmm… I’ve seen this before…

if Microsoft ARE making this, then no. We won’t be wearing them in the future.
