New Microsoft job listings look to confirm the company is hiring for the Next Xbox console, and looking revolutionize audio on the machine. The job listing was obviously removed by Microsoft, although a google cached version of the page can be seen here. The listing stated:
“The ISS Console Multimedia Team, responsible for designing and developing the next generation console, is looking for a highly motivated and skilled audio developer. If you love gaming, game audio and music, then join us as an integral part of the team tasked to revolutionize audio for the next generation of Xbox.”
Another job listing from early last week states Microsoft is also looking for help creating ”AAAA experiences that deliver on 1st party goals and, more importantly, creates a fun gaming experience for our audience.” Below is a snippet from the posting, it can be seen in full here.
“Microsoft Studios (Xbox) is looking for a dynamic and seasoned Executive Producer to lead and develop a world-class team who will own the creation and delivery of a AAAA experience that delivers on 1st party goals and, more importantly, creates a fun gaming experience for our audience. The EP will be responsible for identifying a great development partner who shares our passion and goals, mapping the product roadmap, all aspects of production, from initial concept development through retaining world-class production capacity to delivering high-quality games that are on time and on budget, and improving the viral performance of the games.”
So, it appears Microsoft is aiming to “revolutionize audio for the next generation of Xbox” and create a fun AAAA gaming experience for their audience. Both listings also look to confirm the development of the machine, which isn’t really a surprise.
Thanks, Gaming Liberty

Well they had to do something with thier audio. It was one of the Xbox360′s weakest points. Good luck to them.
I hope Sony does something with their graphics, slow optical drive, and pitiful online. It’s their weakest points.
“Xbox 360 is the BEST console EVER made.” –John Carmack
lol
“I hope Sony does something with their graphics”
Why? Because it’s stomping the 360 in the dust with exclusives?? They need to work on the architecture and ease of use, Sony’s delivering the best graphics this generation
What other response could we expect from a fanboy?
P.S. THIS GUY IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO… ANNOYING! DX
Buying1999 you’re delusional. If rightly programmed PS3 graphics is superior to the X360 one. The old and especially incoming PS3 exclusives (BTW where are they in the crap box? Don’t you ever get tired of playing Halo?) prove it. The optical disc can be slow, but it can keep up to 50GB (actually 66.8GB) of data, allowing all possible audio formats. Also the STANDARD internal HDD can be used for partial game installations. Not needed anyway when the devs know how to program. Look at FF games, Demons’ and Dark Souls. All Japanese. That must mean something. And the PSN is great. Especially because it is for free. XBL games lag as much as the PSN ones.
“Sony has made the best machine. It’s the best piece of hardware, without question” – Dave Perry
I hope lens of trtuh does something with buying1999 endless arrogance, delusions, mis-information and flame bait enducing comments. It’s his weakest points.
You are a moron please go away.
Sony’s already got a leg up with the PS3 in this department. The PS3 3D Stereo Headset is sick!
“There’s “no way” games like Uncharted 2 and Infamous 2 could be made on Xbox 360, PS3 just has more power” – Sucker Punch development director, Chris Zimmerman
Pretty sure the 360 could run Infamous 2 just fine. Games like Read Dead Redemption prove that.
@Avion How so? Red Dead has a decent sized map, and that’s about it. There’s so much more attention to detail in Infamous, and even at it’s most hectic points, Red Dead can barely run a 10th of the Action that you’ll see in Infamous 2. i.e. Red Dead is mostly desert with a few small towns as well as animal and people AI in between, whereas Infamous 2 surounds you with hundreds of active AI, and you’ll find yourself fighting all sorts of large enemies, scaling skyscrapers, the works. It’s easy to have a huge map with decent graphics, if very little is actually being rendered in it. That’s all that Red Dead proved. Not to mention, Infamous 2 just all around looks better and is more polished.
Perhaps GTAIV and the upcoming GTAV are better examples then.
…..more like “revolutionize crappy kinect games made for children”.
At least butthurt1999 will be happy, waving his arms around in Disneyland like a little girl! LMFAO!!!!
I am very happy to hear this, I invested heavily in a powerful home theater system for blu ray and games. Honestly, PS3 and 360 graphics always leave me satisfied, but in terms of sound the DTS soundtracks of the PS3 are just better. This news makes me very happy though, hopefully more future generation games do what 343 is doing with Halo 4′s sound only with an enhanced audio format.
@buying1999
1) Shitty graphics? Go have a look at Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3 and then come back here, okay :3?
2) The slow blu ray drive will be fixed. You see, the technology was very new at the time when it was put in the PS3. Now it has evolved and is faster now.
3) The online is good actually, the only thing I don’t like is the absence of cross game chat which will be fixed with the next console because it gets more RAM.
this site is infested by playstation fans and trolls…
Naah you think? xD, one Xbox fanboy/troll, that is Buying makes a troll comment, and that alone gets like 20 equally moronic replies from Ps3 fanboys.. I am happy though that it doesn’t seem to affect the outcome of the Head2Heads.
You can go away as well..it’s because of the 360 fanboys this shit happens.
