We here at Lens of Truth have always felt that people should have the freedom to speak their mind in our community.  However, it has come to our attention that things are getting out of hand.  Let it be known that from this day forward, any use of racial slurs and/or personal attacks toward another member will result in the banning of not only every account associated with the IP address, but also the IP address itself.  We strive to keep a clean community where players can come to discuss any of our articles with one another as well as anything that has to do with gaming as a whole.  We have always been very laid back about letting small things slide in the past, but as time passes more people are becoming so bold as to cross the line and post comments that are just unacceptable.  With that said we have no choice but to take action and initiate a zero tolerance policy to keep order in our growing community.

Bear in mind that we are not trying to suck the fun out of the site.  This rule will only apply to personal attacks, racial slurrs, and other things of that nature.  Innocent “fanboy” arguments that have to do with the “console wars” will still be perfectly acceptable as they are only directed toward the subject of the “console wars” and therefore are not a personal attack.  Comments that refer to some one’s lifestyle, mother, religion, race, or anything of that nature are what we are seeking to eliminate as much as possible and these comments will not be tolerated.  Just remember that if a comment could be offensive when said to someone in person, it will also be offensive when used over the Internet.

Furthermore, as I’m sure most of you know, we have a small staff and we may not catch offenders right when they make a comment.  But we assure you that even if action isn’t taken right that second, it will be taken as soon as the matter is brought to our attention through moderation of comments and/or complaints filed by other members of the community.  If you are one of those people who get around our filter or make a comment that we may not pick up on for a few days don’t worry, you haven’t gotten away with it.  We will find out and take the action required to keep order in our community.

With all of that said, our supporting members mean a lot to us and we want you all to feel like you can come here without having to worry about people crossing the line or being offended just for trying to read up on video games.  This policy is effective immediately and past offenders are being watched very closely.  We want everyone to have fun and speak their mind on our site, but those who do it at the cost of others have no place here.
