In an interview with EDGE magazine, Last Guardian creative director (and main man over at Team ICO) Fumito Ueda said the game is “pushing PS3 to its limits”…
“With Ico, the way the AI was implemented was a challenge, and in SOTC, the way you could climb those bosses was another. In this game, I’m implementing both together while applying a huge brush-up that pushes the PS3 to its limit. This is quite a task, and we still have a lot of work to perfect it.”
Ueda then spoke about creating the perfect game character,
“… I want to create a character that is as perfect as possible. I mean, as natural as possible. I’d like players to feel it’s really alive… I’m certainly trying to make that perfect living character.
“This is a great platform that has a lot to offer, but it’s not a question of machine power. It’s more about how you get emotions out of a virtual character”.
We’ve heard things like this before from developers but what do you guys think? Will The Last Guardian “push the PS3 to its limits? Let us know below.

regardless, i’m not giving too much of a damn for the technical output it does, but the artistic portion. The game looks beautiful and is a type of game we’re in dire need nowadays where this generation is just a platform for overhyped/overhyping first-person shooters.
Ohh really? How many times have we herd this before?
Yeah but it sells. And from the screenshots, I wouldn’t say they were wrong lol.
The game looks gorgeous and I’m dieing to play it:)
Is it me or the creature in the picture looks like a kitty?
All I want is to have fun, enjoy the game, enjoy the beautiful stunning art, if the the technical aspect will help it’s more than welcome, I respect those developers who know what they are doing. Just like Naughty Dog (I’m in love with them)
This time is Fumito Ueda that is saying this.
So I just believe him, because he never disappointed gamers, never.
And so far the videos and images are confirming everything.
Developers have been pushing the PS3′s limits for years, and for every time that they did, they acquired new knowledge that further utilize whatever potential left that still haven’t been exploited. This process will just keep on going until there’s no longer anything left to exploit, basically until they hit the real limit. And as incredible as it is, hearing developers go out of their way to brag just somehow gets under my skin (i.e. 100% maxed out claims). In this case though, Ueda, rather than bragging, sounds more like he’s putting out a difficult goal and setting out to accomplish it, and that earns my respect.
Trivial matters aside, The Last Guardian truly looks incredible. I mean its graphics is undoubtedly one of the greatest that was ever seen on this generation’s consoles, but what I blew me away, ultimately, is the realism that its director trying to achieve. Based on what I have been hearing thus far, the amount of details that dedicated to the game’s interactions seems almost too incredible to grasp. Hell, I seriously can’t wait to get my hands on this game. I also can’t wait to see Lens of Truth, using their superior knowledge, to bring out a detailed evaluation of the game’s technical aspect.
Game looks amazing but how many times has this line been used just in the past year?
Nice!I always wanted a virtual animal thing
Hey guys, he never said that the game push the ps3 graphically to the limit but more that the AI is so complex that the cell get much to calculate^^
Heard it all before. What they should say is “this game will push the PS3 to its limits……..to the best of our development abilities”
Limit…..limit…..limit……………………….
LIMIT BREAK!!!!!
Omnislash!!!!! HAAA!!!!!!!
This game gonna be one of the best titles this gen.
Ah! about the theme of the post….bla, bla, bla ,bla….. MARKETING
Going by the TGS video that shows non CG footage, the textures of the character are worse than Uncharted 2. Everything else looks pretty much identical to what you’d find in Uncharted 2 except for the grass which looks much better in this game.

Who knows though. This trailer was from TGS2010 and it’s not going to be out until the end of 2011 if not longer, so it may look improved.
im gonna buy this and lick the box. rub it on my ass.
