Are you wondering how much Hard Drive space you’ll need available on your PlayStation 3 to play L.A. Noire next week? Well wonder no more!
This report comes from Justpushstart, who has confirmed you’ll need only 1.38 GB of hard drive space free to enjoy Rockstar’s latest. Not bad at all considering the 3.4 GB Grand Theft Auto IV needed just 3 years ago. Nice job Rockstar.

1.38 GB? That’s nothing.
I agree. Between the small install and only 1 disc, this is looking like a PS3 buy for me.
Would be nice if it was an optional install instead of a mandatory one. That said, 1.38GB isn’t really anything to talk about, compare to some other games. Beside, even if there isn’t a mandatory install, and assuming there’s an optional one available, I’ll still install it anyway.
Given the choice between 3 DVD’s and a 1 gig install, I’m taking the 1 gig install.
Prefer mandatory install instead optional. Don’t compromise the quality of the textures and avoid the long loading times. I don’t care about install since I’ve only “1 disc” wich is better than “3 discs”.
Sorry fanboy, that’s not how it works.
You don’t compromise the quality of the textures by not having a mandatory install. This is made apparent by the fact that many multiplatform titles that are mandatory installs on the PS3 have textures that are not up to par with it’s 360 counterpart. For example GTAIV & Red Dead Redemption.
The mandatory install is simply to reduce load times… as the Blu-Ray laser is much slower than a DVD laser.
Except by the “fanboy”, thanks for the info. I’ve both consoles and like them so I’m not a fanboy and not here to discuss such things. Just technical things. It’s really nice when someone wants to explain better. Even so I prefer 1 disc and loading times reduced. Hugs!
it’s not exactly a graphical marvel when you look at it so it’s not that surprised.
the textures are very “clean” is what i meant.
Like GTA4 and Red Dead I think it will be a xbox 360 win… u install the 3 disks in the hd and gg!!! i´ve see some slowdows in the ps3 gameplay.
I wouldn’t be so sure of yourself. GTAIV and RDR used the RAGE game engine which are definately more suited to the 360. L.A Noire uses a different game engine (it may share some of the RAGE tech) and it was formerely a PS3 exclusive so the developers (who are not the same developers as the ones behind GTAIV and RDR) must of worked to the strengths of the PS3 architecture. Think FFXIII.
yea, and cows shoot lasers.
that slowdown u are seeing, is ur mental retardation im afraid. ur brain is slow and cant handle the frame rate.
You’re used to lag (see GT5 running at 30/40fps) the bayonetta then forget it. But if you do not spotting lag in the videos of gameplay change your glasses.
dude ur pretty stupid arent u? Are u throwing bayonetta out there like its some graphical bench mark or something? Its common knowledge, with even Platinum games acknowledging that the ps3 port was rushed out, after having been made originally for 360, with no ps3 version planned, and then Sega wanted to make a ps3 version in short space of time.So whats ur point??? Bayonetta is a nice looking game no doubt, a patch on God of war 3? nope , not even close. Regards game play, neither is really my kind of game tbh.
As For Gt5, if u read the LOT analysis, it says that for majority of the in game frame rate was close to 60fps, whilst both(GT5 and Forza) dropped to 30 in playback of previous races.
“On a final note, on average both games performed pretty close to one another averaging around 60FPS while in-game. However, we noticed that your previous race would replay back at perfect 30FPS. Listed below are the average frame rate and screen tearing percentages.”
Forza 3 was overall more stable in its frame rate though and less screen tearing, but then again GT5 did run with more complex car models etc, as well as being able to run at same frame rate(actually better bizarrely according to DF) AT 1080P(MAYBE DUE TO LOWER LEVEL AA)
EITHER WAY, UR POINT IS NULL AND VOID, AND UR STILL RETARDED LOL
“Team Bondi has confirmed that L.A Noire was ported from PS3 to Xbox 360 during development, and suggested that most third-party multiplatform studios are opting to use Sony’s console as their lead platform.”
Fail! comment..
Install does improve texture streaming, in games that use a lot of this feature usualy does it better on ps3. Its not evidence of any superiority on ps3 side tough.
I rather have mantatory installs on ps3 that use less space in disc, on my 360 I install almost every game and each one of them take over 6gigs from my hard drive. The ps3 installs usualy uses between 1 and 3gigs and a feel games uses over that.
I don’t know yet what version I’ll buy or if I even bother to buy, I’m waiting for reviews and H2H’s to make my mind.
Whatswith xbox? there will be three discs do you have to install 2 discs and then play just with one disc? or do u have to change the disc while the game -.- i ask because this will be the first time me buying a xbox game with more than one disc
You missed out on Mass Effect 2 and Dead Space 2?As for your question,Team Bondi has implied in interviews that you will have to switch discs even if you install all of them(Just like Mass Effect 2.I don’t know about Dead Space 2,since I got that for my PS3)
omg thats terrible -.-’
Yup ur required to change disks still, it stops ppl sharing disks I guess
Joke on Crytek !
Another reason for me to buy the ps3 version, but i’ll still see how it does on the H2H
Oh three discs on xbox? Thats a no brainer then. I was gonna wait for the h2h but now i dont need to. Ps3 it is.
I Cant wait for this new game experience!
