Kojima Productions has announced they will be attending the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco next month “to search for skillful engineers, artists, and game creators.” for help with the “next” Metal Gear Solid title. Kojima Productions has also confirmed “the latest Metal Gear Solid” will be “targeted for high-end consoles and PC.” Exciting news for PC gamers indeed. The studio is seeking help in both Japan and California if your interested.
Could this “next” MGS title be Metal Gear Solid 5? We’ll just have to wait and see, but we are sure of two things: whatever Kojima and his team have up their sleeve it will be exciting, and PC vs. Console comparisons of whatever the game is will be abundant.

I really hope PC elitist’s realize this game will be the best on console regardless of graphics. MGS’s home is Playstation and that is where it will stay, Xbox is coming along to enjoy the ride.
You do realize people can buy controllers to plug into their PC, right? Anyway, ”targeted for high-end consoles” leads me to believe the game will come out in the next console cycle, especially since development is just starting now.
Yes I know that you can do that. I can already foresee that PC elitist’s will spout how much better MGS5 is on the PC when that isn’t at all true. I realize Snake has familiar grounds on PC as MGS1 was available for PC and I think MGS2?
But that doesn’t change the fact that his home is Playstation and that is where he always will come back too. I’m not a fanboy or anything, I just hate PC elitist’s and people who hate on any console.

PC or console? well it is really up to your preference. However, i will say that pc will beat the console in terms of performance and visuals. even GTAIV, a very poorly optimized game for PC still beat both the 360 and ps3 versions of the game in terms of performance by 15 frames on a decent gaming computer. My pc, with everything maxed gets an average of 56 frames in the in game benchmark and usually a constant 50+ in terms of actual gameplay. According to Eurogamer’s staff in digital foundry, the 360 and ps3 averaged in the high 20′s (it was either 27 or 28fps, don’t remember actual numbers). So is pc really that much better? imo, yes, but if you prefer console, then go for it. you’re losing top performance and visuals, but the core storyline and experience will basically be the same.
moving to the second point, if you take the same game across multiple platforms, what really makes the game “better” on one platform than the other ones? if its performance and visuals and a wide option of controllers, then yes, of course PC is going to win. Still, PC has its disadvantages as in you can’t pop the game right in and play, you have to install it and everything, but in my opinion, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. Just play on the platform you prefer and stop whining about others.

No. Let’s say Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess was emulated onto PC and a mod team made it HD and up-scaled the graphics to a point where they looked amazing, would it be better on PC? No, because link lives with Nintendo. Graphics/Performance only matter to a degree in gaming, which people do not realize.
