Welcome back for another exciting Heads Up! This week we “Tag team” our way through Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to give you the “Heads Up” on which version out performs the other. Just remember, a Heads Up doesn’t have a winner or a loser – they’re designed to give our members a “Heads Up” on which version performs better on games that might have slipped through the cracks. In short, our members are the judge and jury on which version is the best. Heads Up winners and losers can be found on our Head2Head Index page. Check out the analysis below and enjoy.

Seems like the sega genesis version has the better performance.
this was defiantly a tie. The extremely small amount of tearing doesn’t really amount to anything here. Not too RAM hungry and easily cross consoled game.
The Xbox 360 is the BEST console EVER made. –John Carmack
Well I said it was a tie but I forgot the huge M A N D A T O R Y install on the over priced internet ready blu ray player. NOT a tie afterall. Another victory for Xbox.

xbox 360 was the winner in my view.
according to Eurogamer
version of the xbox 360 has better frame rate
the textures on the xbox 360 are sharper than the ps3 version of the xbox 360 version has a better texture filtering, stereoscopic 3D on Xbox 360 is more smoother than the stereoscopic 3D
xbox won again
@buying1999
I think you like to mention these little details.
Ok, although I don’t care much for it but let’s mention the CG videos witch is much better on the PS3 (or as you mention it:the over-priced blu ray player or whatever) due to it being uncompressed.
So, it’s a tie again for you but it’s an over-priced internet blu ray player WIN for me,LOL.
Only idiots play games on 360 without install.
The 360 would melt down with a SHUKSUSHSUSKSHUSKSUDGARSUGKSU sound.
@Farenheights, I hope you don’t vote on this PERFORMANCE analysis video based on IMAGE QUALITY from a completely different source. The performance is close enough to warrant a tie.
@farenheit
Well i’ll concede that the video is better on the over priced internet ready blu ray player. so if all you get games for is the cg video then you in like Flynn. But I actually like playing the games too. So, if you’d read my second comment and not that I’ve read the digitalfoundary face off I have to say that it’s not a tie but instead another win for the SUPERIOR Xbox 360. Too bad for the over priced internet ready blu ray player.

Adam thinks that a game looks better on 360? What a shocker…
@ Buying- Your love for 360 even goes beyond comparisons… I bet if 360s failure rate was higher than PS3s, I bet you would give it a 360 win, because it fails more.. If 360 poos more than PS3, you would give it a 360 win, you would even go as far as sticking a 360 on your ass, stick to your overpriced 17 year old DVD player!!!!
@ TheFred128- I wouldn’t take Eurogamer AKA Digital Foundry claims very seriously since they always figure out ways to make either a 360 win or a tie, since Eurogamer is one of the most popular sites in Europe, & have strong ties with Microsoft, as in the case with Final Fantasy, they didn’t say how better the PS3 version was to the 360 version, they try to downplay the PS3 version & how the 360 version could have being the better version… As for Bayonetta, they just went all out & said how better it was for 360..
@TheFred
Except… DF claimed it was a tie.
Man that was easy.
Oh my! That last scene…
Tekken was made for Playstation, no doubt that the developers will focus on the PS3 version, but I will still buy this on the XBOX 360 if I have the money, and I don’t care about the simple differences in graphics and performance, my purpose now is just enjoy playing the games and save money for the next gen gaming consoles..
PS3 for the pad alone for this game, unless you have the new transforming 360 dpad which is a hell of a lot better for fighters than the previous. Or a hori stick.
So.. Elephant in the room here. I was wondering will the Lens of Truth staff be adding in the Wii U comparisons when the console releases?
yeah they should be adding Nintendo Wii U comparisons also, sure it will have better graphics in all the 3 console until the new Playstation and XBOX was released..
It is in the pipeline. They stated that on thier facebook page.
Ahh I see thank you for the information I greatly appreciate it. On the topic of the game I really like fighting system I can’t wait to pick it up.
Yeah, I’m more interested in the Wii U version too. I want those Mario & Zelda costumes! Not to mention that Nintendo’s d-pad has always been the best for fighters!
Yet another loss for overpriced internet ready dvd player. poor crapbox hasnt won in a while
I bet you and Buying routinely upvote each other so you sound smarter. It isn’t working BTW.
The performance is a tie pretty much, and graphics have the edge on PS3.
PS3 wins.
Definitely a win for PS3 if you include the visual comparison which was done earlier… I’m not 100% sure if I want this game, I mean, I LOVED the first Tekken Tag Tournament, but something about this just seems so… meh, maybe that’ll change though, I should probably try the demo before giving a proper opinion though, lol.
We’ve already seen the full face off of this game on DF.
It was a tie all the way, the ps3 is still searching for that elusive win.
Maybe res evil?
lmao. keep telling yourself that Android. In case you’re not sure, this is not DF. It’s LOT. The performance is a dead set tie, graphics have slight edge on PS3, and the D-pad is superior for fighters.
Its a PS3 win. You have claimed “epic” xbox wins on less evidence than this. Take it on the chin for once. Its this attitude that makes hate for Xbots world wide.
pffffttt, if we have to get technical about it, the 360 actually has more advantages than the ps3 on this game(especially if you want to play it in 3d).
I was being generous to the ps3 giving it a tie
Most people who are serious about fighting games will have the newer better dpad controller on 360 anyway(or an arcade stick).
No biggie.
@ Android- Androids & robots act the same, why don’t you show us the 360 advantages, cause clearly 3D isn’t one of them… BTW, I wouldn’t play a fighting game on 360 even if the new controller has a better d=pad than the other, but still sucks for the most part.. BTW, Tekken can be played in tournaments with a Dualshock.. So pretty much you’re forced to buy an arcade stick to be good at it on 360, cause the new d-pad still sucks for fighters..
& you’re claiming your choice based on Digital Foundry, when they always downplays a PS3 version, even if it’s better than on 360, LMAO, admit it, 360 controller sucks on fighting games, with both forms of d-pads!!!!!
@Gaydroid123
Your generosity is duly noted, Android; however, the “only” generosity given, is that from sites like Digital Foundry… …giving shitbox versions of games the “nod” when, clearly, a simple tie would suffice.
The game is a tie, end of story…
Stop trying to claim wins that don’t belong to you; it’s getting tiresome and boring; If you’re going to act like a fanboy, Android, than at least “go-all-out” with it like your pale, Buying1999; and stop with this underminding, (“I’m supposed to be neutral”), distinguished, bullcrap… …it’s not fooling anyone but, you.
You are a Shitbox fan-nerd; Get over yourself…
Not enough in it to warrant any debate on which is superior, though I see the usual suspects making the same old comments, take you’re dicks out of you’re consoles and just play the bloody games.
well said, my friend.
Seconded.
BUYING1999 does have 40gig version of PS3 if that little girl wines of that little install file. I have 1tb hard drive in my PS3 and it’s not an issue if I have to install something. BUT mostly I play my games on X360. Just because MOST of all games is just better looking on it. It’s just a fact. But as I have said earlier, I’m not cheering either of them. They are just as good as they can get in this gen.
It’s good the 360 version came out well considering the arcade version from which it is ported is basically a PS3 (Namco System 357). I’m sort of surprised at how equal it is.
System 357? Reminds me of Konami’s system 573 which was also basically just Playstation hardware on crack. Thanks to that though we always saw perfect arcade ports of DDR games during the good old PS1 and PS2 days. :3
Question: Has the PS3 always sucked this bad or is this just a recent trend?
Considering they’re a match, I suppose that means the 360 has always sucked this hard as well.
It was close but I would choose ps3 for this game. The only difference was that the player playing on the 360 in the video was awful compared to the person playing on the ps3.
