It’s a good game. And with fair graphics. Pity there isn’t many of this kind.
its close, but there is no denying that on visuals alone, the PS3 has this in the bag. Now its just down to performance, which I expect a different result.
The performance analysis is already there. And they’re very very close as well.
oh, yeah. Just found it on Eurogamer. Had to dig deep for it though, seeing as it was done 12 MONTHS AGO!!!! First thing I noticed was the approx 7gig disc size difference between the two platforms (PS3 having 13.36GB & Xbox only 5.9GB.) Thats a huge difference!
Eurogamer have already admitted the graphics were better on 360, missing effects on ps3.
Framerate was comparable though.
360 got the nod on eurogamer, pc version heavily recommended though(and good fun it was).
but look at the slider on the 4th image. Unless LOT got the pics the wrong way around……..that look like a missing effect on the xbox to me!
Already saw this on Eurogamer. Xbox won again.
The Xbox is the BEST console EVER made. –John Carmack
So it seems. I’m curious about the motion blur missing on the PS3. Its usually the other way around. PS3 does motion blur very easily!
Kingdoms of Amalur is one of those games that you shouldn’t judge based on just the demo, and by that, I mean finish the entire demo, and if you start to get a little bored of the game, that’s what the full game is going to feel like.
I played a portion of the demo, but after escaping, I quit playing, thinking it was going to be such a great game. The gameplay is decent, but da** if the game isn’t one of the most boring I’ve ever played. After taking a few quests in the village I was already bored of playing the game. I owned the full game during this time and tried to play through, started skipping quests and such entirely.
Kingdoms of Amalur is a pretty garbage game. Very beautiful graphics, but I’d rather have garbage graphics and have fun than great graphics and be bored out of my mind.
ive never play this game, is this game worth buying?
the price dropdown in my country.
No i wouldn’t say that it’s worth buying at all. The game becomes super boring pretty fast, and you will probably lose the will to continue. The game does have excellent combat, but the quests, graphics, characters and lore are really dull. Play the demo first.
i downloaded and played the demo,, the graphics are nice though, but i find the game is a little bit boring, repetitive and predictable gameplay. this game got my attention because of its price here,, but i think i passed this one.
Xbox wins again. This is getting embarrassing for the PS3. Loss after loss after loss….
I bought the game and after 5hours got bored of it. The combat is fun, but the quest, world and story are boring.
Here’ Digital Foundry’s opinion and facts-
360- Console quality FXAA (better AA coverage but at cost of blur)
PS3- No AA but no blur either.
360- Camera and per object based motion blur
PS3- No motion blur
360- Superior shadowmap cascade
360- Superior texture filtering
360- Less screen tear
PS3- The odd higher resolution texture maps.
PS3- Superior frame rate
PC version trumps both.
360 wins again
I borrowed the PS3 version of this game from my brother and rented the shitbox version from gamefly just to do my own analysis… Definitely, no motion blur in PS3 version but, it hardly makes any difference; There are some games that require motion blur and there are games that doesn’t; This game could do with or without and could be played either way from my experience… As for the game itself, one thing that could easily be said is that, this game is everything “Gable” should have been. In fact, it takes what fable had and made it ten-times-better… Personaly, I couldn’t fully enjoy this game after playing Skyrim… In my opinion, Skyrim puts every other RPG to sleep.
xbox won again!
Well of course Xbox won again. It wins these head to heads 99% of the time. It’s SUPERIOR to the over priced internet ready blu ray player. FACT.
The Xbox 360 is the BEST console EVER made. –John Carmack
Well of course Xbox won again. It wins these head to heads 99% of the time because developers have to cater to multiplatform releases in order to maximize profit. The internet ready blu ray player suffers because people like me refuse to support superior technology. So much so, I spend more time on forums than actually playing videogames.
The Sony Defense Force really should just admit that developers prefer the 360 because the cost to develop with it as a lead platform increases the margin of profit. If developers optimized their product on the internet ready blu ray player, the cost would inflate on multiplatform releases. As it is now, developers can release a substandard product because people like me will still pay the same $60 whether or not the product has met the potential of the industry.
I, for one, am glad that developers don’t optimize the internet ready blu ray player versions of games. If they did, I might have to stop fellating John Carmack.
