*To ensure color accuracy from the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U output, the PlayStation 3 has RGB Full Range set to "Full" and Super White "On", and the Xbox 360 has Reference Level set to "Expanded" and HDMI Color Space set to "RGB". Our capture card we have captured segments from the AVS HD 709 . Blu-ray, HD DVD, & MP4 Calibration suite.
As you will see, each system matches each other at the SOURCE LEVEL. No contrast or gamma settings are manipulated before or after capturing our images/videos. We strongly believe that these types of corrections are done on a individuals preference and should not be adjusted by us. Finally, washed out looking images that are due to contrast or gamma differences will not have any influence on our final verdicts. Please Read through our F.A.Q page if you have any questions or concerns.*

other than the usual differences (contrast, sharper on 360 but more jaggies) I fail to see any significant differences except for the curious missing “trumpet player” shadows on the wall in the PS3 version. I prefer the crisper Xbox version at first glance this time around.
Sorry old pal, I have to agree with buying in this respect. 360 version clinches it.
Look at objects in distance, theyre sharper on 360. I’m presuming it’s anisoptric filtering that’s better on 360 in this game, but could be some sort of blur filter applied on ps3 on objects in background rather than using aa??
See Bloodios take on things. I think he got it spot on.
Sounds fair, I looked at his comment and it wasnt too far from my guess that ps3 might be using blur in backgrounds (lets be honest, Qaa may as well just be called blur lol)
I had no idea about the online issues, but have no interest in game either, was just commenting on the visuals as I could see on these screeenshots.
Both look pretty good, but the 360 is a tad bit better. Honestly, they’re 99% identical
This one’s pretty close. But the Xbox is better by a small margin. But then better is better.
The Xbox 360 is the BEST console EVER made. –John Carmack
The whole game looks shitty no matter what console, and I though Street Fighter IV looked bad. For me, I rather prefer SoulCalibur, Dead or Alive or Tekken. This just feels like a HD remaster of a old game.
Are you shitting me ??!!! What do you have in your eyes??? Shit??!!!
So everything that is not realistically looking looks like shit? Let me tell you that all these games will look like shit in 10 years but those with Cell-Shading graphics will stand the test of time without problem. Cell-Shading>>>>realistic graphics.
You never played a Persona game before, have you?
360 version looks better
This looks like the same engine since the first BlazBlue. Xbox 360 version uses 2xMSAA for background and such, while the PS3 version uses QAA which does a better job at edge-smoothing than 2xMSAA (but at the cost of image clarity.) As always, no AA for sprites (does AA even work on sprites?) so they look the same across platform. Either way, the graphical differences between the two versions is miniscule at best. What matters right now is the performance of both versions and especially the Xbox 360 version’s network lag issues, publicly admitted by Arc System Works a couple weeks back. We need to if the issues actually made it to the localized version, and whether or not it has been fixed.
good review buddy! Tell me, how do you change the font in your comments like you do, bold type anf such?
@samchez77HTML tags. Some are listed here:
Thanks champ. Didn’t realise thats all it was!!!</p)
Yeah, I think you’re spot on.
Xbox version has slightly sharper backgrounds so graphically the box Version is superior. But I’m more interested in frame rate and performance. There are already report on how the online matches on the PS3 are much smoother.
Yep 360 win going by the screenshots but as donatboy says, the 360 version has bad lag for some crazy reason when playing online.
Gamespot gave the ps3 version an 8 compared to the 360′s 7 because of it.
So it’s a ps3 win game wise at the moment, of course the 360 version could get a patch.
Of course it will get a patch! And quick probably.
They patched it today.
A patch for the Xbox 360 version has been released in Japan:
Hopefully this means that the Western version will soon be be patched, too.
Nothing different aside of big contrast and sharpness difference, usual result for this gen, next!
And, the huge community on the PS3 compared to the Xbox
(in this genre).
In the other news, the PC version of Dark Souls is confirmed to be using 1024×720 internal framebuffer, while frame rate will be locked at 30fps. You can bet folks people are raging like there’s no tomorrow about this.
Source:
Yeah that’s poor form but then again PC owners have finally got Dark Souls with extra content which is what they wanted. But still I would be a bit miffed.
gamma desu
Don’t like the way the 360 version looks, a bit over saturated :/
Anyways thanks LoT for the comparison.
The 360 looks a little sharp and gets 1 point for that.
But, I hear the net code is better on the PS3. This is according to giantbomob.com.
I know need a Darksiders 2 and Sleeping Dops head to head.
Lets go.
The typical gamma differences we allways see. Other than that they look almost identical.
If I get it it will be probably for Ps3, the dualshock is A LOT better for fighting games
not a huge difference the Gammas different but we can fix that on our own got my fightstick and My ps3 ready! but ill most likely spend more time on storymode than normal fighting mode :3 i love the Persona 3 and 4 cast
A little bit better on the xbox360….but both console´s look´s good.
