PS3: OWNED!!!
and this is a serious one…OMG!
This is bullshit. I have NEVER seen any of my PS3 games look as blurry as the shots do on this site. Never. I suspect a capture card issue.
Notice how some PS3 shots look crisp & fine, while some others are a blurry mess? Its obvious some shots were taken at the wrong time, providing misleading images. Yeah, I admit the Xbox is the dominant multi-plat system, but shots like this don’t do either console justice. Rent, and try before you buy.
Well here is yet another win for the Xbox 360. This generation is coming to an end and the over priced internet ready blu ray player just never could match up to higher level of fidelity that the Xbox provided. I will concede that even I was a little shocked how far off the mark this one was. Even I think that the over priced internet ready blu ray player could have gotten a little closer with more effort. I understand the lack of SSOA and missing shadows but this is just a blurry mess on the ps3. The should have used MLAA or FXAA to free up the RSX and maybe implemened some better texture streaming to help with the video RAM constraint. Instead it looks like either lower res over all (Which could have been avoided by the streaming. Allowing for higher res to be streamed instead of lower rez just being bluk loaded into the 256 VRAM) and/or use of QuinCux(I think thats right) anti-aliasing. Either way, dare I say it, they could have done a little better. The SSOA and shadows advantage would still have probably gone to Xbox but at least it wouldn’t have been such a blurry mess.
The Xbox 360 is the BEST console EVER made. –John Carmack
Buying1999, as always sucking balls!! Do you and us a favor, go and euthanize yourself.
Another Xbox 360 win.
The Xbox 360 is the BEST console EVER made. — John Carmack
Ah. Another victory for the best platform ever. PC. Look at all those jaggies and low res textures. Its almost like you guys are stuck on some 7 year old tech being sold as 5 year old tech…
Oh wait…
And just for you, Buying1999, A brand new quote from carmack.
“Pc is simply better than consoles”
What the hell you guys are talking about? On the first page the X360 version is an aliasing feast while the PS3 pictures look much better. The PS3 pictures are totally inconsistent. I think the blurring is due to motion blur as it supposed to be and it0s lacking in the Xbot. So there!
Thank you SAMCHEZ77 for defending the honor of our beloved PS3.
The PS3 has more lights than the XBAWKS that’s why it’s brighter. The PS3 is futureproof and uses BlueRay so it can hold so many gigs. The XBAWKS uses DVDS and can’t hold the number of lights the PS3 can. PS3 is clearly showing it’s superiourity now as us PS3 fanboys said it would back in 2006.
In 2006 we said the PS3 would be FUTURE PROOF! And 6 years later you are seeing that TRUTH!
LOL @ Buying. Yet again, He cannot use any different words. I always get a kick out of coming here. If its 2006 or 2012, Buying is saying the exact same words. I wonder how awesome Buying’s life is if the most important thing in it is what system wins a graphics contest. The best part is that these consoles are almost 8 yrs old, and He’s still fighting the good old fight. I wonder if He waves his confederate flag yelling “The south will rise again”? Whenever I feel down about my life, I come here and read what Buying says and just laugh laugh laugh. I’m so glad I’m not a fanboy. I own both systems because I’m a gamer. You are a critic. I am a a gamer. You are not a gamer. You are a hater. Hate hate hate hate hate. Oh, how awesome your real life must be. Oh, and dont bother with your “Sony defence tactic #1″. I’ll just laugh at you some more. Buying, I hope you realize that everyone laughs AT you. Not with you. At you.
I will admit the PS3(It’s not called an “over priced internet ready blu ray player” buying1999, what is wrong with your brain?) did well but only in the Texture quality, some textures look horrible on the Xbox 360 and they look fine on the PS3, but for some reason and probably in an attempt to get rid of jaggies, the PS3 version has an extreme amount of blur in it, and it is legit Samchez77, I have played the demo and It really is just that blurry, it was mainly noticeable in the multiplayer character screen, However I am looking forward to playing this game but I am not a massive fan of transformers, so I will only be giving this a rent.
Both are low res and terrible. PC.
they are comparing consoles here..not PC
Damn looks really bad on Ps3 (When compared to xbox) and it was stated in the gamespot review of this game that the framerate drops consistently on the ps3 version, why the hell don’t the devs take the time to polish all versions so everyone can have the same experience across all platforms?
It’s activision. Ports are only a means of addition cash-ins.
why should the developers be forced to spend more time and money on a ps3 version to get parity? I would be ok with that if the game was $50 on xbox and $60 on ps3.
all that extra time spent on the ps3 version could be spent polishing the 360 version. it’s unfair. Face it the ps3 was badly designed.
This game looks rubbish! Like most transformer games.
SAMCHEZ77 then don’t play this game if it’s rubbish to you..and have you ever tried to capture screen shots on your PS3 and also on the Xbox 360? I have tried it and there are games on the PS3 that is really blurry because of the effects that the PS3 use to simulate Anti-aliasing or what ever do they call it, sometimes you barely notice it when you look at your TV but it’s there..if the version in the XBOX 360 win then the XBOX 360 win, I have enjoyed playing on PS3 and also on XBOX 360 so this doesn’t concern me..and I know that the people who made this site also own a PS3 and they would not spend a lot of their free time just to make garbage review,..
Firstly newfag, who the f*ck are you to tell me whats what. And secondly. yes I have. I use a digital PVR to post pics to a blog me and a few associates do. And they NEVER come out like this. Something is amiss………
@ SAMCHEZ77 Looks like rubbish cuz it looks better on 360 right? Everytime a game looks better on 360, this is what you get from the SDF. 1. The PC version is the way to go. 2. This game is crap anyway. 3. It’s clearly a tie or the PS3 version looks better. 4. LOT and DF are biased towards 360. 5. On my TV it doesn’t look like that. Personally I don’t care which version looks the best. I’m not going to praise the winner, or tear down the loser regardless. If a PS3 game looks better than 360, I will be the first to admit it. No shame in my game. If you don’t like the outcome of these faceoffs, don’t look at them, cuz apparently your mind is already made up.
he ps3 has slightly better lighting effects,and a bit blurry,but overall is better on the xbox
No as a matter of fact. None of the Transformers games have ever really interested me. The graphics look unimaginative and boring.
samchez77..So you are doing it and you should know what really is the result..then post it if you capture it, I’m just doing mine for hobbies. I don’t care about these XBOX 360 vs PS3 thing, I just want to know which version is better, I would rather fix guns and post on how I do it if I am going to spend more time on the internet.
and I am not a newfag.. I worked as an agent in the National Bureau of Investigation in the Electronic Data Processing Division so I know a lot about electronics and computers and stuff before I am moved to RAID Division. Playing video game is just my past time if I have nothing else to do, I am just saying that don’t play the game if you don’t like it. And watch your mouth before you say f*ck, we are dealing with criminals who kills people in the Agency so I am not afraid of you. I already know the feeling of being shot at the last time we raid a drug den.
Unreal 3 engine = 360 win
Time and time again the 360 always outperforms the ps3 on the unreal 3 engine.
I have no idea who is voting for ps3 on this one. According to gamespot and giantbomb the 360 is the stronger console version,
Haven’t played batman AA or AC have you?
lol, make the first game better on ps3 then the sequel better on 360. i love the consistency.
that’s why i own both consoles…and back then, “better” was only slight, this one is more one sided
ooh i get it.. it transformed
I agree with SAMCHEZ I just played the demo and I was saying to my self when did I get an xbox.
good to see someone investigates for themselves instead of relying on this site.
well, i really have no interest in this game (or in transformers for that matter) but always check out the comparisons, to see how the devs are doing. And something looks kind of off with the screens… i mean, the xbox looks worlds apart, but the ps3 looks like its drowned in motionblur or some such… (i know it’s not motionblur) so unless this is plain terrible programming, there seems to be an error with the capture-equipment…. or the devs are useless.. that’s possible too.
Either the lighting is fu*#ed up or the blurriness adds to the obnoxious amounts of bloom in a majority of UE games.
Why is every single shot taken from the first level which was also the demo level?
Is this actually a proper full game comparison or the demo?
Doesn’t really matter. I played the demo and have the game on the PS3 and it looks horrible in both. Should have gone with the 360 version this time.
he he.. could be. But seriously, if they released the game in this state they should be whipped in public, you know to statuate an example for other devs
he he..
About time LOT !!! It seems that we have waited ages for this comparison. I did not purchased the game, waiting in your final results, even though in my mind I already knew that the 360 would be the winner, based on the results given to the previous War for Cybertron and Activision’s constant failure in producing across the board parity for both consoles (they never seem to get it right).
Now, how about a full Head 2 Head; you’ve been dropping the ball on us lately and I am starting to loose hope in your ability to keep up with this website. I know it is hard work and all, but please don’t let us down. Multi-platform owners like me, we rely on your unbiased opinion for our final purchase decision.
waited ages?.. the game was released on the 21st this was published on the 22nd
This game is clearly pushing the ps3 to breaking point with the robotic power on show.
They should have cut back on some of the ps3 detail to get the framerate up to scratch with the 360 version(oh wait they already did cut the detail you say?)
Maybe if sony had rushed the ps4 out by now, a ps4 version might have matched the 360 version
And to add more insult to injury, the game seems to be getting ok reviews.
Are you smoking a heavy joint?? It is not Sony’s fault that cheap-ass developers and producers like Activision are not willing to work the full capacity of the PS3. The 360 will not be able to handle games like God of War, Uncharted, Imfamous & Killzone on its outdated system.
I think you’d be surprised how well all those ps3 exclusives you mention would turn out on 360(minus the cutscenes maybe, heavy compression).
But we’ll never know as they’ll never make the 360.
We can only compare games on both machines like this transformers game, which as we can see is running far better on one of the two ageing consoles.
Well, I disagree with your assessment. The PS3 and the Xbox 360 are completely different in their built and for that matter, they required a different approach in their development process.
In the beginnings of the PS3 (and the console war) many developers stated that it was a pain in the ass to work with Sony’s console, but in reality they were new on its technology and did not know how to work it properly.
Now after a few years the gap is almost near to close, and many developers are more familiar with it and its strengths. we are able to see more parity in multi-platform games and in some cases the experience is more pleasing and enjoyable on the PS3.
High Moon hasn’t been able to get it right; they still rely on Mandatory installs (a practice that is becoming very rare in today’s standards). They are not utilizing the full space capacity of the blu-ray disc and this is very disconcerting; this is just a sign of a company that has no idea in how to work the PS3 or has no interest in doing so, due to financial gain.
Activision can always hire someone else to work on the PS3 versions of its games, but it is unwilling to do so, because of its financial commitments with Microsoft.
Many important figures of the industry have stated lately that the PS3 it is a powerful system able to render beautiful games ( the same people that talked shit couple years back). The same developers have said recently that the Xbox 360 is currently maxed out in its capacity to showcase games as good as the PS3. And I am not talking about cheeply made and rushed multi platform games.
In any case, a transformers game is not the creme of the creme, when it comes about top of the line game of this generation; There is not real comparison.
@Gaydroid123
You and Crying1999 just keep dreaming about those PS3 exclusives; I’m pretty sure, some day, if you close your eyes, and wish really, really, hard… …nah, who am kidding; the shitbox would seriously have a heart attack (RRoD) just by trying to load the “main menu”, on God of War 3 alone…
Gaydroid, let’s be frank; It’s like that old saying goes, “If you could’ve, you would’ve”!!! If the shitbox was truly capable of producing the graphical levels of PS3 exclusives, we should have seen this by now… All the blind insulting in the world by the likes of you and every other shitbox fan-nerd can’t deteriorate from the simple fact that, you wish PS3 exclusives were available for shitbox; Crying1999 wishes they were; In fact, crying1999 wishes he had a PS3 so bad, he even goes through the trouble of “advertising” the PS3 capablities everytime he goes to insult it. You wish you had a PS3 so bad, Gaydroid, that you claim to own one so you could play the “terrible PS3 exclusives”, all so you can come on Lens of Truth.com and talk about it…
Bottom line is, there are literally hundreds of game Publishers and Developers all with the skill to develope and create and push shitbox to it’s absolute breaking point; yet, none of them can seem to create or even re-create the beauty and sophistication that it takes to make a PS3 exclusive. Why hasn’t there ever been a single shitbox exclusive (or any game for that matter) capable of even being compared in the same vain as a PS3 exclusive? I’ll tell you why, because it’s a “no brainner”, it’s “no contest”, it just plain wouldn’t be fair; The Shit Box Can’t Do It…!!!
Android!Are you ever gonna grow up and stop being such a microsoft fanturd all your life?we all know the ps3 could run these graphics way better than the 360 if it was made from the ground up on ps3 rather than a shoddy por’ wich remineds me this is the only time you attack because you know the ps3 is gonna be a crappy port!but we hear nothing from you 360 fanturds when the ps3 is owning the 360′s arss with it’s awsome exclusives wich your 360 will never do because its not powerful enought”FACT!Also you need to grow some balls fella’Fact.
Wow, my post about transformers has really brought the fanboys out in full force.
All the classic lines are there, from the rather amusing ‘shitbox’ comments to the usual overrating of the ps3 exclusives that has affected many a ps3 fanboy.
But my personal favourite is ‘Why hasn’t there ever been a single shitbox exclusive (or any game for that matter) capable of even being compared in the same vain as a PS3 exclusive?
The delusion from that one line alone suggests extreme comical talents are on show here if you truly believe that ps3 exclusives are the holy grail of gaming.
Well done LOONEYSHA for at least making us all raise a smile
Android, I think you are the delusional one, you and all the dumbasses that like your idiotic fanboy comments. Go back to play dance central on your superior piece of shit kinnect!!
@android123
Hey android. Have you noticed that when there’s no other defense the sony defense force starts using copious amounts of personal attack and profanity??? ROFL
ANOTHER win for the SUPERIOR Xbox 360.
The Xbox 360 is the BEST console EVER made. –John Carmack
@JPSARRI
first off activison is a PUBLISHER, not a developer, the developer is the studio that actually makes it, the publisher tells them the budget, prints the discs, pays any fees for the rating / console, and advertises it. the developer tries the best they can with what they have, and knowing activision they were given a budget that wouldn’t allow for an exclusive ps3 team to port it so instead they had to port it using programmers who are not used to the unique design of the ps3′s processor cores.
and second it IS Sony’s fault for releasing a console that is difficult for most programmers to use, yes some developers have done amazing games on ps3 but they usually either a: are sony owned developers or b: have had a ps3 team from the beginning which has been able to get used to writing, and converting, code to the ps3.
And your point is?
@BIGBURITO, I never said that Activision was the developer, you misunderstood my comments.
This is how the developing process works; the publisher hires the developing studio company and tells them, this is what we want from you, this is the type of game that we expect from you; this is your budget and this is the technology at your disposal.
Now, let’s keep in mind, that the developers will utilize whatever they have at hand in order to produce the expected game. Studios that have ties with the console companies will fair better in their quality because they have access to that technology from the ground up. That is why exclusives look amazing on their respective consoles.
Sony did not create a system that was difficult to work with, it was just different. You cannot take your Ferrari to a Toyota shop for a tune up or basic maintenance work. Nobody can say that Apple products are outdated or hard to work with, just because they are not compatible with android. on the same token, you have to have the right team that specialized on the different console systems, mostly on a multi-platform game.
It is necessary to note, that Activision has produced and funded (not developed) games that look and perform a lot worse on the PS3 for as far as the system has been on the market. This has nothing to do with the console, because companies like EA have been able to create (by its financial support and technology backing) games that played and feel visually and esthetically better on the PS3 (a clear example would be Battlefield 3) or are at the same level with the Xbox 360.
The final goal is to bring parity for all systems to consumers. We are the ones paying the big bucks for experiences that don’t feel the same across the board in these multi-platform games.
@Gaydroid and Crying1999
I swear; You two and your “play books”…
How about the “shitbox fan-nerd play book”;
Play book rule #1: When Microsoft continues to screw us year after year with no exclusives, blindly bash and mock PS3 exclusives… Even if you’ve never even picked up a single Playstation controller in your life, claim to own one anyway; use Youtube gameplay clips as your basis feed for inside gameplay info; and most importantly, never allow PS3 owners to believe, their playing the same game as you. Continue to mock enemy “head count” during actual gameplay; if you see any graphical bliss, pretend you never saw this; and without a doubt, keep up the act that, you’ve actually played these games and hate every single one of them…
Play book rule #2: When PS3 owners use “exclusives” as their base argument, use quick & pointless measures of destraction; try and quickly turn the conversation into a argument about shitty 3rd party ports (i.e. Quickly tuck your head into your ass and make an ass-ball, like an ostrich) and hope the PS3 owners would give up looking for a decent argument comeback… This is a very good tactic as for, it is a inevitable argument to win for us 360 owners.
Play book rule #3: When in doubt, us smart-ellicy comments towards PS3 owners post to discourage and disbare any farther factual arguments or completely relavent intel about PS3 hardware, PS3 architecture, PS3 coding, PS3 programming, or any PS3 related topics based actual findings and truths…
Play book rule #4: This is absolutly detrimental for every 360 owner to inquire; Always, always, always remember, when at any point possible, use shitty PS3 port tactics to determine any “hardware potential” argument. These tactics are very useful when you have absolutly exerted every option to debunk the PS3 owners.
Man you right,lOL,sonyst´s gonna crazy with this,when the game show´s better in the xbox360,the game is bad..
Cry sonyst´s Cry……LOL
Well of course Xbox won again. It wins these head to heads 99% of the time because developers have to cater to multiplatform releases in order to maximize profit. The internet ready blu ray player suffers because people like me refuse to support superior technology. So much so, I spend more time on forums than actually playing videogames.
The Sony Defense Force really should just admit that developers prefer the 360 because the cost to develop with it as a lead platform increases the margin of profit. If developers optimized their product on the internet ready blu ray player, the cost would inflate on multiplatform releases. As it is now, developers can release a substandard product because people like me will still pay the same $60 whether or not the product has met the potential of the industry.
I, for one, am glad that developers don’t optimize the internet ready blu ray player versions of games. If they did, I might have to stop fellating John Carmack.
Can’t wait to see the analysis for this one as the PS3 version looks terrible, (the one I’m playing). Pretty much a complete lack of AA, muddy textures, objects in the distance not rendering properly, frame rate issues, screen-tearing, etc…. Hugely disappointing considering WFC was damn near identical on both consoles.
WFC was a much better looking game on the PS3. It was clearly more defined, texture wise; shadows were more pronounced; colors were brighter and more pleasing to the eye.
What I really hated about this version was the annoying screen tearing, it was beyond belief and gave me headaches after hours of playtime. the final shot to the head was the mandatory install of almost 5 GB that did not address any of the problems with loading, screen tearing and frame drop. After I finished both campaigns and played some hours of multiplayer I went and traded it for the 360 counterpart.
In my experience with WFC, I realized that High Moon developed the game with the 360 in mind from the get go; I don’t think that Fall of Cybertron is any different. FOC carries the same problems that plagued WFC (screen tearing, frame drop, slowdowns & mandatory install) sadly.
JPSARRI- From Digital Foundry-
Transformers: War for Cybertron
Chalk me up as a fan of this one. Transformers: War for Cybertron isn’t going to be challenging any of the massive AAA titles as an overall package, but it’s simply great fun to play, even better in co-op and re-creates the world of Cybertron in a manner that an enormo-budget Hollywood blockbuster would find hard to match.
Gameplay might well be quite predictable, but the execution is cool, the weapons are fantastic, the range of “warrior robots in disguise” rocks and Megatron’s Doctor Doom-esque dialogue is delightfully cool in a totally unhinged, megalomaniacal kind of way. I can see it gathering plaudits as something of a cult classic, and it was definitely one of the highlights in putting this feature together.
In terms of the PS3/Xbox 360 comparisons, the fact that Unreal Engine 3 technology is being utilised by developer High Noon should make for a pretty close cross-platform release, if the history of titles using the middleware is anything to go by.
As you would expect from a game built upon a multi-platform middleware, there’s not a great deal graphically to tell these two apart. As is usual for Unreal Engine 3 games, Xbox 360 gets a small dollop (that’s a technical expression) of 2x multi-sampling anti-aliasing, while PS3 has none – but just like Singularity, it’s not especially noticeable in this game.
Otherwise, in terms of the basic graphical make-up of the game, they’re both much of a muchness. Shadow rendering is pretty much the main differentiating factor: they’re darker and fatter on PS3, lighter and thinner on 360 – perhaps an offset bias issue there as appears to be the case on the 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII. Both versions sport SSAO (screen space ambient occlusion), but the radius is so tight that it’s virtually unnoticeable except in the odd cut-scene, where it can look rather odd on both systems.
What is apparent additionally is that both versions of the game are not operating with a native 720p framebuffer. Transformers: War for Cybertron runs at 1024×600 or 1040×600 – definitely in that ballpark. Bearing in mind that few UE3 titles run at anything less than native 720p, this is something of a surprise (Midway’s Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe being the only other example that springs to mind, and that runs at 60FPS).
So, both “teh jaggies” and specular aliasing (shimmer on the shiny bits, basically) look more pronounced than they would do in a native 720p title. Quite why there’s any resolution reduction is something of a mystery. Detail levels are insane, but that’s par for the course with Unreal Engine 3 – the tech itself is a great fit. There is some pretty far-out use of alpha transparencies which would have a performance impact though.
Aside from a gruelling, lengthy, 4.7GB (oof!) mandatory installation on PS3, performance is the only real difference between the two versions. However, in this respect, there’s no doubt whatsoever that Xbox 360 offers the best experience.
Transformers PS3/360 performance analysis.
While frame-rates and controller response are almost identical between the two games, the Xbox 360 looks and plays like it’s v-synced – just the odd handful of frames overshoot their rendering time, leading to a tear right at the very top of the screen on the odd occasion. The PS3 version on the other hand, tears pretty much all of the time, from top to bottom, severely impacting visual consistency.
Transformers: War for Cybertron is still a cool game regardless of platform, but the perceived jump in quality simply through implementation of v-sync has a startlingly positive effect on the game, so for that reason, if you have the choice of platforms, the Xbox 360 release is the one to get.
I also read the digital foundry review. nothing new coming from their always seemingly biased view (that is why I prefer this site).
War for Cybertron was fun, but all the flaws manifested in the PS3 were inexcusable, they still are in FOC.
High Moon & Activision need to do a much better job in developing these quick cash-ins. We are paying top dollar for their shitty ports.
Well I’m looking at their comparison gallery and video but I cannot see the much better looking PS3 version that you claim. I can see fatter shadows and the darker gamma (makes a change) but that’s about it. Maybe you can point me in the right direction.
Good god, the resolution on PS3 is just…awful. I’m a PS3 gamer at heart, but it’s obiviously clear that the 350 version takes the cake on this one.
This is the kind of parity issues that belongs 5 years in the past.. this is plainly just shoddy work. I mean, they haven’t even tried. The devs who made this, shouldn’t even be allowed to publish anything this shitty… Even if i was interested in this game i wouldn’t by it for my 360, simply because this is too damn lazy, and i won’t support anything this badly made.
I watched some 360 walkthroughs it looks like the same muddy blurry mess as the ps3.Just because they took some horrible pics of horable looking game doesn’t mean the 360 version is some sort work of art.they probably took a week to port it to ps3 a lot eaiser than porting a superior game made on the ps3 to the 360.Uncharted 3 would never work on the 360. Yould probably have a hard time porting Uncharted 3 to the netbox(internet ready cable box blueray player) when it comes out.Just make shure you build up your credit so you don’t get screwed by Microsoft when you sign your life away to them for two years.
MSAA and some texture streaming issues it seems on PS3 (image close to the bottom of the 2nd page the autobot’s green shoulder is missing the texture) while the xbox has rougher edges but much sharper textures.
BUYING1999 is the BEST lapdog EVER spawned. –John Carmack
well if i do buy it i will get the 360 version for sure, i do wish i could come here and make an informed choice along with some intelligent debate, sadly we have buying1999 and android with there penises stuck in there 360s gloating as if all that matters is there beloved console wins, guys you really are the lowest form of prehistoric frog sperm i have ever encountered in a feedback.
“you really are the lowest form of prehistoric frog sperm i have ever encountered”
I’m adding this to my list of treasured insults. XD
360 wins again
@BADASSBAB, do yourself a favor and buy a PS3 to compare both games under the proper light. Matter of fact, read the Head2Head on this site to see for yourself. This is not only my opinion, but it is the opinion of many. I played WFC in both consoles and I know what I am talking about. Digital Foundry always favors Xbox, no doubt about it, because they are financially supported by Microsoft, and that is not lie.
Based on the screenshots, graphics-wise, the Xbox 360 version is indisputably better. There isn’t anything else that can be said about this, the difference is pretty obvious. That said, both versions seem to be running at sub-HD resolution… not very appealing…
Activision published game looking way crappier on PS3, didn’t see that one coming.
Wow, the ps3 version is just, crappy looking. Im a transformers fan, love the first one, but HighMoon screwed up on this one. I thought they wood fix it since the first one was having problems on ps3 pretty bad. Also its published by Activision, im not surprised of the way it looks. I heard the frame-rate is pretty bad on it too. Funny thing is, they even release it a few weeks early, now why would they do that? Of course the 360 version was already done so who cares about the rest. Typical Activision. ts a good thing i got it on the 360, i knew something was wrong from people already having problems with it on ps3 since the demo. Another funny thing is that people are saying the demo run better then the final version. I mean, WTF!
Barack Obama – ”The PlayStation 3 is an incredible machine.”
Chuck Norris – ”Screw Xbox, PlayStation is better.”
Ubercrappy PS3 version.When it comes to multiplatform games,we have all seen what shit of a console PS3 is.Stop blaming developers,both consoles have similar raw power and architecture,denial won’t change anything,stop believing in “we only use 10% capacity of the machine” or “PS3 is omnipotent and hasn’t reached its full potential yet” statements.I haven’t touched my PS3 for months(since Uncharted3)and it looks like this won’t change till the end of this gen.
Hey Buying”its not a personal attack!its just difficult to get it through fanboys heads!that the only reason that this game looks better on the xbox is because its a piss poor job of a port on the station”and if you listen to the crap Android says its no wounder us ps3 gamers get angry!He always goes on about the eclusives and try’s to say is that the reason to own a ps3″and the answer is YES!Because ps3 eclusives are just Awsome!if he had a ps3 he would know this”but he dont,And if you guys are hurt or offended by some of my comments i feel sorry for you as you know your gonna get that kinda reaction especialy from me”as i cant stand people bashing”well to a degree’Although i have to tolerate it lol”Look if you cant stand the Heat get out of the Kitchen:}
I apologizes to TRENTONATER and SAMCHEZ77 for saying the 360 wins 100% of the time when using the Unreal engine.
I should of said it wins 99.9% of the time.
My bad. Douche bags.
Hahahaha
It seems that the Xbox 360 version is both superior in regards to graphics and performance (backed up by Digital Foundry). Although this art style doesn’t require a huge amount of clarity IMO the performance does matters in a game like this so xbox version is the way to go.
Gamespot’s review said the PS3 is a bad port, gave it a .5 lower score than the 360 because of it.
‘PlayStation 3 version struggles to keep up with that excess. At times, Fall of Cybertron is a technical mess on Sony’s console: square pixels sometimes erupt where there should be sparks, loading times occur in the middle of the action, and the game may even lock up and require you to restart the system. The resolution is noticeably lower than on the Xbox 360, and textures are so blurry that you could momentarily wonder if a higher-res texture has yet to pop in. The frame rate isn’t perfectly steady on the Xbox 360, but it keeps pace better than the PS3 version, which chugs more frequently.’ Gamespot.
WTH is wrong with ps3 lately? They just can’t get the textures looking right.
Also, one flaw a lot of ps3 games have is.. stuff doesn’t cast shadows on itself.
Lightning and Shadows suck on ps3
The truth is. We are 9 months without good games on ANY plataform. This is sad.
And here, I thought, the Unreal 3 middleware was shitbox’s shinning gem for games… This game looks like complete shit!!! …and “YES”, I have played the demo for both systems, in case someone decides to get “cute”. This goes to show, when you have a developer who can’t even properly develop a game on shitbox, it is inevitable for PS3 to get the shitty port. Darksiders 2 looks ten-times better than this game and it was a match-for-match; So my question is, why do shitbox feel the need to point out, shitty looking games like this??? This is the exact reason why, you’ll never here the end of the “PS3 Exclusives” argument; Because we know, PS3 can dish out better looking games than this piece of (Unreal 3 engine, show-case) crap. This is why, we have (See-and-Eye Dogs) like Gaydroid123 & Crying1999, leading the blind(shitbox fan-nerds) on this site; to keep the “denial ball” rolling…
Seriously, all it takes is a couple of minutes on Youtube to see what all the (PS3 Exclusive) fuss is all about; some how, I think many of you are too afraid to watch and witness your whole “shitbox world” get blown to shit, within 1 minute of watching; which is why, many of you, try so hard, to truly believe that games like this, is what PS3 is really capable of; many of you, need to believe this; many of you, loose sleep or wake up early (Buying1999), totally convinced of this ignorance. In the end, shitbox fan-nerds just wound up looking, just plain, silly…
Been a while since I was here last time. Anyway, in all my life I’ve seen many fanboys and can say that the most nerdtastic fanboys out there are… PC users. They rage at consoles while they fail to understand that they’re so unimportant to current developers, that they constantly get fail ports from consoles (Dark Souls PC… blah). Second place goes to PS3 users, seriously. How many exclusives are coming till the end of year to PS3? None? While X360 gets Forza Horizon and Halo 4 and Gears Judgement next year. All those talks about PS3 having more exclusives… blah, blah, blah. It’s the QUALITY not quantity that matters. I thought that Uncharted 3 is the best looking PS3 game, then I saw Gears of War 3. Sorry, in terms of graphics Gears 3 outperform U3. Everyone who I asked and who has both consoles, confirmed it. Now, PS3 will get The Last of Us (nice looking btw), but that’s it. What? Beyond Two Souls looks like crappy interactive movie yet again (they learned nothing from criticism about Heavy Rain), God of War 4 looks like God of War 3 and… mythical The Last Guardian which is basicly a deleted title. Seriously only the best fanboys can hope for a release. And don’t get me started on GT6, haha. By the time it will see the light of sun, there will be Forza 5 and maybe even Forza 6! All in all, the tide has turned. Now X360 has exclusives while PS3 released the most interesting already in the past.
CTHULHUPL!What are you smokeing fella?You clearly need to stop whatever it is because its way to strong for you’
I’m not smoking anything. How about you present some arguments?
Seriously PS3 is getting LPB karting, Sly 4!!! (childhood right there!!) GoW ascension multiplayer is something new to the series, The Last of Us (holy molly, that’s Naughty Dog rolling) and a few more.
Been studying and gaming too much with my PC. All the multiplats goes to my PC. My PS3 has the exclusives of course. But my 360 haven’t done shit since I got tired of Gears 3… Yeah Judgement looks like the same old Gears. And your misuse of the word “fanboys” is just retarded…
TL:DR STFU
@CTHULHUPLBlahBlahBlah…
I think I’ve mentioned this before but, I guess I’ll repeat myself for the “mentally insane”; Gears of War 3 looks like complete horse shit, compared to Uncharted 3… and unlike you CTHULHUPL, this isn’t something I heard neither; Most of us hear, have the pleasure of owning both systems. You might’ve heard this insanity from the 10 year old down the street from you but, every Reviewer and magazine in the world seems to think otherwise. Only you shitbox fan-nerds on this site seem to believe this crazy non-sense,but, to-each-his-own-silliness, I guess…
As far as your “exclusives roster” you have there, I couldn’t help but notice a few holes in your ploy to rattle the fanboys there… Allow me to ask you a question; When was the last good or “quality” exclusive 360 had after Gears of War 3? When was the last good exclusive 360 had before Gears of War 3? How many exclusives do shitbox get within the same year of one-another? You say it’s about “quality” not “quantity” but, to be honest, I’d rather play 2,3, or even 4 (one playthrough games) within the same year on PS3, instead of, wait almost 2 years apart just to play 1 decent exclusive on 360… You’ve pretty much pointed out that you don’t own a PS3 so, it’s real easy for someone to point out what they don’t like about PS3 exclusives when they don’t even own a PS3; Blind criticism is never “it’s own reward”; You’d be wise to know and understand this…
Now, you can spout all the “Do(s) and Don’t(s) and Dislike(s)” about Playstation 3 and PS3 exclusives all you want but, you’re clearly shooting out blind criticism at the most, and therefor, your opinions and thoughts on any comparison between the two consoles are, pointless, therefor, clearly, you have no “argument”…
For someone that uses the Helghast as an avatar, you really hate the PS3, uhuh buddy!!!
@MoneySha
I own both systems. As a matter of fact I’m about to sell my PS3. I have PS3 almost 5 years and X360 almost 2 years. Now, looking in the past, I wish I had X360 all the way instead of blurry PS3. You can’t deny that most multiplats are better on X. About U3 vs GOW3, I dare say that you have a problem with your eyes, then again it’s only your opinion. On PS3 I only liked KZ2 and Uncharted Trilogy. What is wrong with my avatar? I love KZ2 but that doesn’t mean that I’m a fanboy of SONY/PS3. Since 2006, Sony is utterly failling in all departments. They failed with ps3, failed with psp, failling now with vita. They killed Killzone franchise with shitty KZ3, and of course failed with PSN. You can like PS3 but You must be blind if you don’t see that X360 is much better and has overall better games, even if less exclusives but better multiplats. BTW IMHO X360 is the last TRUE console while Sony turned PS3 into crappy computer/blueray player. They even failed at updating web browser. It is still crappy as hell. And when I’m hearing that sony is cooperating with Gaykai or whatever, I see the future for Sony/PS4 very dark.
@CTHULHUPL
My vision is 20/20, bud… Don’t know what kind of shrooms your chumping down but, I’d check with my dealer on the experation, if I were you. Gears of War 3 was nice for a while but, Uncharted 3 change all that; in fact, I challenge you to find “1″, count it, “1″, reviewer on the entire net, that comply’s with your sentiment about this matter… Just “one”!!!
Fact is, if PS3 exclusives were on shitbox, we wouldn’t be having this conversation; In fact, the argument would be in total reverse. It’s a none fact that Microsoft fan-nerds are completely jealous because, they don’t have these nice looking games when, they have everything else; I don’t deny the fact that, 360 get the better looking multiplats, which is why I had an xbox 360 since 2006 and will continue to have one but, I can’t deny, that the xbox 360 is nothing but a “fanboy, fanfair” piece of crap…
You wanna talk about what Sony has failed at; well, lets look at what Microsoft failed “not to do”… They failed not to have HDMI support from the get-go; I mean, “really”, component cables went out in 2004… They failed to have wi-fi support already built in. Instead, making people pay for a seperate component all together; $100 it cost, if I remember correctly… Instead of allowing people to pay fo DLC with “real” money, they make you pay for points. They make you pay, “real money, for fake money”… Sounds pretty dumb, doesn’t it? …it is; and a rip off…!!! They failed to utilize a reasonable storage media for their game, instead, opting to stay completely “ancient” with yesturyear DVD format, when this was supposed to be an HD era… Failed systems for 4 years straight; no re-chargable controllers; cluttered and clunky interface; Kinect was a waste of time, waste of money, waste of man power, thought, resources, and is a complete insult on all the senses; and most importantly, absolutly, small-to-practically “non-existant” library of exclusives…
At least Sony attempts to do things right with Blue-ray, free online gaming, handheld gaming, and accessibility; Microsoft does nothing but, charge for online, charge for DLC, clutter the 360 home screen with advertisments, and try and tell gamers how they should play games…
CthulhuPL is right richie, there’s been nothing on ps3 at all this year apart from journey(which i liked).
Not many exclusives on 360 either to be fair, although halo 4 is almost here and there’s been loads of great downloadable games like spelunky, fez etc.
Who would have thought it, the 360 edging the ps3 in 2012 as far as exclusive games were concerned.
Fantastic!
WE forget one thing!, maybe more too! Is it the PS3 fault?… sure its down to the guys working on the game?. We all know that the PS3 is 2nd choice in most multi plat games…. but some dev teams spend extra time taking advantage of the PS3′s extra power and make a decent job, some dont.
Also, thses are screen shots, simple screen captures, its pretty much impossible to get the same shot twice on both consoles, same scene, light etc etc… things will show in shots… We play games in motion, not by pics.. Side by side i bet you dont notice a difference?
If the game is decent and the port is poor then fair enough. I played the demo and thought it was rough!… Demo killed this title for me so i wont be buying.
I wish people would stop the bickering over 360 vs PS3, its crazy!.. Enjoy when you have, end of.
Over the past few years i know where i prefer my gaming… yet i like my 360 too… I like Sony’s exclusives, the ones that really use the system and they care about quantity,quality and varied genres of games for their gamers… There is a shed load of quality for this year again, and into early next…
More than enough room for both consoles… gamers are all one breed, cut this s**t bickering and just be happy you can game on your system of choice!
Mostly I put the blame on sony and their shitty engineers. Devs are also at fault BUT somehow X360 gets nicely done games, failling very rarely. I watched sony carefully and I don’t see them leraning from mistakes.
IMHO every stationary console from Sony was a fail. PSX was retarde at release but got good support from devs with good games and sony did good mnarketing. Weak competition did the job too. Then PS2 was superrior but not by hardware but by devs used to PSX and because MS failed and released X1 too soon (and then cut it off). But this time on this generation, sony is not doing so well, and developers also noticed it. Siply X360 is a better console. That is why most screenshots, gameplays, walktroughs come from X and not from PS3.
@UP
Sorry, it should be “too late”.
Bunny
you’ve played any of these games shown in these head to head in the ps3 or xbox 360, live in a good hdtv?
I guess you did not play, because if he had played live would know that the graphics are much better than these photos, these photos look super blurry, full of jaggies because of the zoom and low res.
you based graphical quality of a game by a blurry photo of the internet?
lol noob
You will be amazed at the good quality of image and graphics
if you played these games live on a really good tv, such as a plasma VT30, D8000 etc.
pc fanboys…
#ChadWarden,
Man, this guy is estremamente sony fanboy, the game is clearly better on xbox and he has the nerve to talk to the contrary, and to add insult to call “Our beloved Ps3″ guy people so urgently need a girlfriend, or maybe a psychologist.
