*To ensure color accuracy from the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U output, the PlayStation 3 has RGB Full Range set to "Full" and Super White "On", and the Xbox 360 has Reference Level set to "Expanded" and HDMI Color Space set to "RGB". Our capture card we have captured segments from the AVS HD 709 . Blu-ray, HD DVD, & MP4 Calibration suite.
As you will see, each system matches each other at the SOURCE LEVEL. No contrast or gamma settings are manipulated before or after capturing our images/videos. We strongly believe that these types of corrections are done on a individuals preference and should not be adjusted by us. PS3 looks a tiny little bit sharper, and the AA is not so rough.
The background look different but I think they’re chosen randomly.
PS3 win 4 me. 360 still decent though.
- May the WiiU NEVER rise to the top.
Looks like a tie. But lets see how they perform.
The Xbox 360 is the BEST console EVER made. –John Carmack
There you are! No tie Buying. A Ps3 win. You have claimed crushing Xbox victory’s in the past with less differences than we see here with TT2.
the textures are cleaner on PS3, the colours are warmer and much less jaggies (look at the girls chin line on pic#8.)
I’m willing to bet the performance will be a tie though, as the xbox has made a few sacrifices.
ROFL Yeah…ok.
Let’s just wait for the analysis. Then we’ll see who’s eating crow. If it goes like the other 99% of head to heads on here then…well lets just wait for the analysis.
The Xbox 360 is the BEST console EVER made. –John Carmack
tie
and the small differences in brightness and color that blur the image a bit, are resolved by changing the reference levels
I saw at Eurogamer
bettter on xbox 360
the xbox 360 textures are sharper than the ps3,
better texture filtering, the frame rate is better on xbox 360
And in 3D is more smoother than on xbox 360 than ps3.
xbox 360 wins again
sorry ps3 fanboys

Whaat? What’s wrong with the wiiu?
Easy win for the PS3
Pretty much the same,The PS3 version has warmer colors +1 sharper, the 360 colors are cooler and that’s about it.
Tie, not much to say.
I think performances will be the same too, it’s a fighting game and framerate has to be perfect on any system.
The winner will be decided with loading times… still, I’ll take the PS3 version for the D-pad.
i will buy a ps3 version for this because of the controller.
Finally a developer that knows how to get the PS3 to work well! better AA and slighty sharper textures (though the lighting for the eyes in the first pic looks like it might be glitched though it’s debatable since it still works fairly well either way) it’s about time developers got the PS3 were it should have been!
still ganna get the WiiU version since it has hilarious nintendo themed costumes XD
Namco develops on the ps3.
The PS3 version seems to be slightly sharper and has less aliased edges during the intro sequences, but both versions look the same as one another during battle, so it really doesn’t matter all that much. It’s the performance of the game that I’m really interested in finding out. I’m also curious about how smoothly does the online mode perform this time around.
That aside, I’m a bit disappointed that Namco Bandai is forcing a mandatory install (which is 7.5GB in size) for the PS3 version this time around. I mean, sure, storage space isn’t a big deal anymore in this day and age and I am would have install the game anyway, but I would’ve like them to make it optional anyway, simply because it feels better to have options available.
I’ll always maintan install is better anyway. Used to install on my 360 too.
Had to sell ps3 to fund a PC so these don’t affect me anymore, but think ps3 has slight edge here , but nothing amazing..
you sold you PS3 to fund a PC? Shouldn’t it be the other way around, selling your Xbox instead? Seeing as most Xbox exclusives are available on PC anyway……….But then again, I guess you’d get more the PS3.
Interestingly, the last image seems to show a better texture on his jacket on the 360. The tiger looks slightly blurred on play station
Nearly a tie, PS3 looks a little sharper. Nothing you’ll be able to notice when playing though.
If that is true, I actually regret my decision on pre-order the X360 version.
There still exists slight distinction between PS3 and X360.
1.Texture on the character who simply shows some kinda pose on the stage, looks
slightly sharper in PS3,and in turn the texture in the combat looks sharper
in X360(according to the comparison).
2.the aspect of glow effect performance is better be shown in PS3 as usual.
On the other hand,I’ve played the game for a couple of day.Hence I notice that the resolution(original 720P) which I always focus on, seems barely fixed ,or another say it extremely runs low, especially ,more than two characters appearing simultaneously in the area.
Finally, I hope you guys could come up with other sufficient analysis.
Yeah, it would be nice to know whether the resolution changes on the fly as it does with so many other titles (f.x. Rage, Motorstorm PR).
Yeah, the resolution dynamically changes on the fly in order to maintain a smooth frame rate. See examples below:
The PS3 looks a little sharper, but what’s with the backgrounds? It looks like they are missing images.
It seems that the PS3 is slightly sharper, coupled with a bit more AA coverage. I just finished watching the performance analysis and they are neck to neck. There was one instance where the Xbox 360 dropped to 30 fps in a cinematic but that was fairly insignificant. I would like to know whether the controller input lag is the same on both consoles as that can matter at the top level of play. Seeing that the difference is pretty small I would suggest people picking the version based on which controller they find more comfortable. If you like both then I’d advice the PS3 version. If however you want to play with a hori stick like a pro then the really only deciding factor would be input lag as graphics shouldn’t matter too much. Oh yeah, and the loading times, that of course matters too.
Looks the same to me. Congrats to the PS3 for at least tying the 360. That’s better a better result than usual for the overpriced blu-ray player.
You realize the PS3 is cheaper than the Xbox, right?…
Thumbs up for showing your face SYX. Notice a distinct lack of other Xbox fanboys? Those guys really make Xbox fans look bad. They troll the hell out of everyone whent they have a win, disappear when they lose. Such bad sportsmanship. Even when the Sony gets its ass handed to it, the Sony fans still show up.
http://ps360.ldblog.jp/archives/53789810.html
there was already another report about ttt2 in Japanese showed that the 360 is better in graphics except the CG movies for the less content of one DVD disc to a BD disc.
By the way the Chinese told that the 360 has unstable frames and ps3 is good with 60 frames.I think that should affect by the higher effects of graphics of 360.
And early today Harada on tweet told that when you play music in tekken tunes, the 360 has nothing to worry about due to the powerful CPU and ps3 could change the rate of the music in a proper way. And also Harada is busy with dealing the matching problem of the ps3 online play and the loading time of the ps3 customization mode.
I think the ps3 version still lose this match with 360 version this time in my opinion.
Having higher resolution buffer for water transparency and ever-so-slightly-better textures filtering seems too trivial a difference though. Besides, the Xbox 360 version is the one with the glitched up lighting (I mean, your font is shiny even the sun is at your back?) Dirt clings to the character permanently on the Xbox 360 version, while on the PS3 version, they fall off over time. At the end of days, these are all way too trivial for most folks to give a toss. In my opinion, the performance matters much more in these kind of games.
Thanks someone for voting me negetive here.
I’m a new here and only to tell the truth around the world.
Yeah that maybe hurt someone’s minner and anger and hit right into the face.
@pachincko
Just ignore it. As of late, the voting system doesn’t even make sense anymore. People just vote up and down these days without even bothering to give their reasons for doing so. I, personally, would love it if the staffs replace this pointless feature with the edit function instead *sigh*
Welcome to the community, by the way. Hope you enjoy it here.
Not a great deal in it, maybe slightly sharper on ps3, it’s all rather redundant as with any game in this genre frame rate and controller are king.
Boast that shit? (PS3)… hahahahha
)…
Close, but PS3 textures are sharper and colours are warmer. Plus the PS3 D-pad being much better for fighters, its a PS3 win for me. Even if the graphics were sub-par on PS3, I can’t play these games with any other type on controller.
Agree totally about the controller, couldn’t play sf4 on 360 at all, and even virtua fighter was problematic.
PS both consoles got sold, as I decided to get PC with card that will run anything maxed out except wItcher 2 with it’s damn uber samples lol that still says no to.60fps. Will buy last of us and play on my brothers ps3.
fair enough. can’t beat a good PC build. If you still got access to your brother PS3 then why not?
Looks like a tie to me. Gamma gamma gamma gamma desu.
http://ps360.ldblog.jp/archives/53791203.html
The second report from Japan about the loading and the input lag.
Yeah right way still the win to the 360.
I think the Japanese thrid report about the frame rate will turn into the ps3′s winning. Waiting to see.
If someone do not agree with the conclusion, go ahead and still give the miners rating for me.
My reply is banned by this site?
Come on.
Have you tried deleting your history, cookie, and such? The site has been glitchy as of late and will not display comments correctly, but doing that has always solved the problem (temporarily anyway…)
It’s not banned, because you posted a ‘link’ the moderators have to approve it before it’s posted.
thanks for telling me the reason and thanks for those who voted for me.
Someone called you GKs of Sony and thanks for making my mind to insure this again.
Some loading time comparison (from Game wa kimama ni…), in case anyone is interested:
that’s cool. keeping all my Tekkens on a PlayStation machine doesn’t feel at all bad right now
There is no glitched lighting in the Xbox vs we’re did that come from And the dirt and mud do come of we’re did you get it diddint and no ps3 is not sharper it’s running at 720p and the Xbox upscales to 1080 set the Xbox to 720p and thay look the same apart from some better textures on water and stuff on Xbox and thay both have small probs with the snow level in framerate but other than that there the same don’t kid your self with ps3 wins if you nitpick it don’t
Those info came from this website:
Also, Lens of Truth set both of their systems’ display outputs to 720p for these comparisons.
It’s only sharper on the PS3 during the character intro sequence prior to the battle anyway…
@oblivion34. Nitpick? Welcome to Lens of Truth. You must be new here. have a look back at previous H2H when the Xbox wins. Then you will some REAL nit picking. I’m afraid thats what this site is all about. Spotting practically un-noticable differences to substantiate a win. it’s how this site works.
no, thats what people make it…
Not really Sushi. Placing both versions of games under impossibly close scrutiny is this sites primary function! When LOT deem a win due to the number of shadows an object has, or foliage density, or a 5sec difference in loading time, I consider that nit picking. What else would you call it.
It’s not a bad thing, how else are we to determine which version is better, regardless of parity. The fact that most of these differences are completely unnoticable to the naked eye is irrelevant. lol
PS3 wins, and slightly (at least from what the pictures show). Edges look nicer, some textures and texture filtering are also better on the PS3 and in some of the pics, the 360 seems just slightly less vibrant in color. Seeing the game play in motion on both platforms as well frame rate would help make it more clear!
Either way, it wouldn’t shock or surprise me if PS3 is a little bit more superior, after all, most Japanese developed games tend to favor PS3 (although not all, there were exceptions in the past), and it would make sense being that PS3 has a much bigger following than the 360 does in Japan. Besides, Tekken has always been first and foremost, on the Sony platforms, so it only feels more at home anyway.
No matter what way you look at it though, this is better looking than Tekken 6, which ran at horrible sub-HD resolutions, had horrible loading times, and awful environmental PS2.5 detail.
Actually on the 360 version if you play without the motion blur then the resolution is increased to 1365×768.
It’s a PS3 win for me. It’s sharper on the PS3. The load times are really fast. Not like Tekken 6, those load times were garbage. Had time to go and get a fucking snack and come back and it’s still loading (exaggerating but you get my point lol). Good thing they fixed that. I don’t mind the 7.5GB mandatory install, less stress loading all the different objects for the disc drive. I’ve personally played both versions side by side and i can say the PS3 is the slight winner here. Good thing i pre-ordered PS3.
Yes I have played both and I can say the Xbox is defo the winner but just ignore that a jap mag has already said the Xbox took graphs it started on ps3 so it must be best on ps3 right
Sorry buddy. A slight PS3 win whether you like it or not. This game should only be played on a PS3 anyway, due to its D-pad on the controller.
Better textures n color on PS3.
better colour on PS3 is probably down to the gamma difference on the xbox 360.
Criterion actually runs a code on the 360 with their games to auto correct gamma. That’s why in Burnout Paradise or Hot pursuit, you won’t see either console being too dark or washed out.
Oh and samchez77 sorry buddy but its an Xbox win
Everyone is very ps3 win this is a screen shoot comparsion and so many times people say ps3 looks better ps3 win and when it comes to it it’s the other way about but from what I have played the Xbox has it just what I think is all
From what I can infer from your comment, you are accusing everyone for being too subjective, when your own conclusion sounds subjective itself.
It’s a freakin tie! like the previous tekken is what i say.
PS3 Win for me”Thankyou verry much! But only just.
I think you picked me up wrong I’m saying everyone is saying ps3 win its happend many times and it turns out the other way about right or wrong and from what I have seen of them both running I think the Xbox one looks better but then my ps3 always sets games to 720p and on a 50inc it has a sort of rough look around the edges and my Xbox upscales to 1080 a very good job of upscaleing to and it seems to take the rough edge of
OBLIVION34″Set your ps3 to 1080p mate”it will take some of those blocks and rough edges away’well atleast i think it will ANYWAY,i keep mine at 1080p ive tryed 720p but i wasnt happy with it so i put it back to 1080.
M8 I tryed that but 1080 upscale on ps3 is quit blurry but for some reason it’s still sharp on Xbox but I did notice on Xbox it can cause tear in some games like Rez 5 if I set it to 720p there no tear at all same as shadows of the damed odd
Hmmm’i realy dont know what to say Oblivion because i have no problems with my ps3,But saying that rez 5 did to me look sharper on the xbox anyway’well on the demo,so i ended up getting it for 360 but i think its just one of those things if the games are useing the 360 as the lead machine wich a high percentage of the time programmers are’the ps3 is gonna get the bunk deal”But intrestingly enought the new rez 6 demo is pretty much on par with eachother’with the demo looking a little better on the ps3 because the floor on the 360 demo looks like it has some sort of pixelation problems with it’But saying that there was a missing shadow on ps3,Its only a demo a can be improved,Anyway i would still recommend playing your ps3 in 1080p as with your xbox also.
Personally with both PS3 & 360 I would keep it on all resolution settings and let the machine decide which resolution to upscale to.
On PS3 if you force 1080p by only selecting it and deselecting 720p and the game doesn’t support it, then it will downscale to 480p.
Just being over to DF and I don’t want to say toled you so Xbox version better framerates better texture filtering quicker load times and runs better in 3D . ps3 better cgi so there you go a ps3 Win just like everyone said here you should never use a screen shot to jugge any game ps3 is voted here for a win it doesn’t have unless I’m going to be toled DF is bias now . strange how a game that was made on a souped up ps3 arcade board looks runs and loads quicker on Xbox but to be fair DF said you can hardly see these differnces when it’s moving but like I said before nitpic and you will find ps3 lost .
No it didn’t. Seriously, you guess really read what you want to read. The conclusion clearly states that no version is superior to the other, and you should choose from controller preference and where your friends are. Nothing else…. And dude, learn English please. It’s not my first language, but that was pitiful.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-tekken-tag-tournament-2-face-off
Here you go. It’s a tie.. read the conclusion. Buy your version depending on controller preference, and nothing else.
Take it what way you like so thay dident say better texture filtering or few frames more or holds up better in 3d thay might be small differences but there there for a bit of a better game only an angry” I was so sure it would be best on ps3 “fanboy would say other wise . That’s why dicks like you come here to any small diff is a diff you just don’t like that ps3 got the shaft even if it was a small one. On a tec level Xbox won get over it.
Would you learn just somewhat decent english so i actually know what i have to reply to? Would be nice. Anyway, no. I read it, the differences are miniscule, as to be non-existing, and their conclusion: it’s the same on both platforms, buy the version your friends have, so you can play with them…. but with your bad english skills you probably couldn’t understand what they were writing anyway.
and furthermore, you sad little man, i’m primarely a pc-gamer. I owned both consoles, and recently sold my xbox ’cause i thought it was to expensive to use, and since i just got a new rig, i can always get the better version of 90 % of all xbox games. So fanboy? No.. smarter than you? yes. I’m here, ’cause i enjoy the technical debate, but sometimes you can get fed up by sad desensitized 13 year old trolls, who doesn’t give a damn as long as their beloved console of choice wins by a couple of pixels or 2 frames more per second. Honestly, the comparisons is defo if you want to know, if one version got shafted so you can avoid it. But i don’t actually think i’m going to be using this site very much anymore, ’cause new pc means i always win
