Tags: *To ensure color accuracy from the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U output, the PlayStation 3 has RGB Full Range set to "Full" and Super White "On", and the Xbox 360 has Reference Level set to "Expanded" and HDMI Color Space set to "RGB". Our capture card we have captured segments from the AVS HD 709 . Blu-ray, HD DVD, & MP4 Calibration suite.
As you will see, each system matches each other at the SOURCE LEVEL. No contrast or gamma settings are manipulated before or after capturing our images/videos. We strongly believe that these types of corrections are done on a individuals preference and should not be adjusted by us. Finally, washed out looking images that are due to contrast or gamma differences will not have any influence on our final verdicts. There are some shadows randomly missing on the PS3… Looks like a weird bug although it may be less aggressive SSAO perhaps? And AA is slightly better on X360. Can’t see any other difference though. So yeah, hardly groundbreaking differences, I call tie.
Did you not notice some shadows and lighting mising on Xbox aswell? especially in the first few shots?
Some shadows missing on both versions here and there, with some extra almost unnoticable lighting on the PS3 (first few shots). theres just nothing in it these days. Console choice now coming down to what you want in regards to media capabilities. Too little too late for PS3 though. I think we will see the tables turn next gen…….
This seems to be the same result as happened with Street Fighter 4. A few missing shadows here and there and lack of AA on the PS3. Performance is most likely solid 60 fps with no screen tearing.

If you go to page 1 check out Cammy’s AZZ, on PS3 the g string is jagged up! or down… lol
This game must use the same assets as Super SFIV, 2xAA on xbox and no AA on PS3, and some more shadows on Xbox, the rest is the same.
SSAO and AA slightly better on 360 though this time around can’t see the PS3 resolution deficit when up close so maybe that was sorted.
Wow there’s missing shadows, weird resolution problems, no ssao, and no anti aliasing on the over priced internet ready blu ray player. Some of the Sony Defense Force are trying to call this a tie ROFL. But I’m sure that was just their attempt at sarcasm. Pretty much turning out like 99% of the head to heads between the over priced internet ready blu ray player and the SUPERIOR Xbox 360. Now performance. I expect both will perform equally well with the over priced internet ready sacrificing the above to keep up on frame rates.

The whole ps3/360 debate has been done to death, and I honestly don’t care about which is better console anymore, and I don’t need to go on websites boating about which 5 yr old console is better than the other. I’m merely curious to see how various Ports turn out. Most these games don’t interest me, and most people here simply want to know they are getting decent port, whilst others want to get best version they can.
I prefer my ps3, and a little bit of aa,, isn’t going to change that, and tbh, I have come to point where, if a port isn’t upto scratch, then ill just not bother with the game, as I’ve not time to play games I have already, let alone on two consoles, which us why

Basically, I dont care who wins head2heads, I dont care which console is best, as I know the reality behind why most ports are inferior on ps3, I also know that regardless of which console is best, there’s little between the 2 either way, I also know, that a few frames, a few lower res textures etc etc doesnt ruin the enjoyment of a game. I was playing games when they were just few pixels on screen, and guess what they were fun, and still are now regardless of a few minor details.
If i really wanted to get best multiplatform versions of games, Id own 360 still, simple. I knew that fact a long, long time ago or alternatively Id get a gaming pc.

Wow there’s overall blurriness, weird low res foliage , missing textures,and pix-elated shadows on the overpriced kinect ready DVD player.
Some of the Microsoft Marketing Team are trying to call this a tie LOL.But I’m sure that was just their attempt at standup comedy. Either PS3 or Vita version is the way to go. All versions look the same, but PS versions come with 5 more characters to choose from. That is the definition of definitive version.
More like three (Cole MacGrath, Kuro, and Toro), seeing that “Bad Box Art” Mega Man and Pac-Man, who previously thought to be PlayStation exclusive characters, are also included in the Xbox 360 version of the game. See here:
Visual-wise, it’s practically the same as Super Street Fighter IV, not sure how the performance is going to turn out though…
So, is there anyone here willing to buy the game at launch knowing that there are twelve characters, already on the disc, can’t be played unless one downloads the DLC (aka the unlocking keys)?
The 360 has the SSAO and AA advantage,but it wont matter at all during regular gameplay. Assuming that they both run at 60fps, this will be another tie.
I wont be getting either version initially though, I’ll wait for the inevitable “Super-duper,Triple Upper, Ultimate Turbo edition” that will have most of the content unlocked at a decent price or the Vita version.

God gamers are self righteous , whining so and so’s. Ok, they put dlc on a disk to be unlocked, so what? That’s their right to do so, they choose what the final product includes, and what is dlc. Either accept it and buy it, or dont, but quit whining. If they’d not put it on disc, would that have changed things substantially? would the dlc be in any way fairer? It’s just ridiculous to moan about it. Companies are simply expanding their revenue via different options. there’s still a perfectly functioning game without tose characters, and no one forces you to own them all.
Anyway, minor differences here, so fair play to them for port, but lets be honest, there’s going to be a super, turbo, hyper edition later down line, so id wait if i wanted this game.
Technically not any fairer but it would, at least for me, affect how I feel how about them. If the devs actually invest their time and efforts into creating DLC after the game is already released, it’s more likely that I will support them, thinking “Hey, they actually put some efforts into making these DLC, so it might be worth it to check them out.” But here we already have a supposedly complete game, but the devs made it so that some contents cannot be accessed unless you pay the unlocking fee. That drastically changes it how I view the situation. I feel cheated and ends up waiting for the game’s price to drop to point that even after purchasing those DLC, it won’t cost me more than a new game would. So, it might just be me being naive, but even if they’re going to cost all the same, how the company handles DLC ultimately would determine how I am going to support them. Ideally though, I would rather that those additional contents can be unlocked through accomplishing certain tasks in the game. Either way, companies are free to carry out their business however they see fit, but if the actions they took displease me, I’ll react negatively to that. Who knows though, I might eventually reach a point where I would regard to all this as part of the norm, and would no longer care about them…
I honestly think we’re looking towards the Norm unfortunately tbh. I personally don’t see the issue. When they created the dlc is irrelevant, as is whether its on disk or not, its what it offers to the game that counts. I understand the frustration of people, I just don’t see the point complaining, as the facts are, its now ludicrously expensive to develop games, and they look to expand sources of revenue , and dlc is that.method at moment, with the alternative being.higher prices for games initially. At least this way, we can choose what we want and don’t want. I’ve only bought a few map packs in my life, and generally see little dlc I’d consider buying, as its usually lower quality than main game, or offers nothing of interest to me.
If people don’t want this model, fine,.don’t buy stuff, but I’m just saying, that we.can expect game prices to rise as an alternative, as this is a) extremely expensive now to develop games for consoles , b) a huge.business, and its now about making money more so than ever, and the days of being about love for the art is dead

It’s not much (if anything at all) about logic and reasoning and more of an emotional appeal kind of thing for me, really. When it comes to gaming, or self-indulging, I tend to be more selfish, and let my feelings get the better of me. So, while companies might have their reasons and I also have a lot of options for handling the situation, I’m often blind to all that, and usually express my selfishness on the spot (a habit I need to do away with.) So, in the end, I guess what I’m really trying to say is that the next the time you see me complaining about such things, it’s more likely just something on the spur of the moment, not worth discussing about. Given the way things are, it won’t be long before I’ll finally be able to dismiss it all as part of the norm.
Still, I thought Capcom could’ve handle their DLC better. Instead of putting the DLC on the disc, they could have just store the data somewhere and waited for an appropriate time to announce it along with some speech like:
And THEN announce that the Vita version will have them all as a compensation for the late launch. It may just be a pack of lies but at least it has more of an emotional impact.
Totally agree. Most of these snot nosed gamer’s don’t comprehend how game development (or any business for that matter) works. They don’t get that extra resources were allocated into the budget to create the DLC… and that without the extra fee to access them later, they wouldn’t even exist.
As to the second part of your post… Capcom has always released Super, Hyper, Turbo, Arcade etc editions further down the line. It’s nothing new.
What is new is that they now offer those editions at a reduced price out the gate. Which I personally think is cool.
I’ll buy the first game to play now… and if I’m still playing when the DLC comes out, I’ll buy it. If there’s a super edition that comes out later with this one it will most likely just include the extras I’ve already unlocked.
Pretty much the same thing. It’s a fighting game, you won’t notice a thing while playing. Unless there are some kind of serious framerate dipping on one of the version. PS3 controller has alwasy been better for fighting game IMO and don’t forget Cole as a guest.
the ps3 version has deeper black levels. the 360 is too bright. ps3 has jaggies, 360 doesnt. but the ps3 wins for me, its sharper and the colors pop more and the blacks are better than the 360. but honestly this game is ugly regardless. horrible art style. looks like a cracked out cartoon.
I was about to give the win to PS3 for looking slightly more sharper, but the missing shadows are a no no for me.
360 gets this one by a hair.

Amazing. After all these games and they still haven’t figured out how to implement AA on the PS3 version.
Same exact results as SSFIV. 360 takes visuals by a nose, performance is identical, loading times might favor the ps3 version just slightly (ironically).
Meh, doesn’t matter. Mortal Kombat craps on any fighting game Scamcom farts out these days.
What is it with PS3 version? Is it lower resolution or no AA?

i think Vita ver. will be the best looking since this not really a true HD quality game… xD
the differences are so small it don’t matter, ill be playing on xbox with arcade stick as the online is better on 360 for ssf4, plus most of my pals are on xbox. ive heard that the game sound cuts out and it don’t run as smooth as ssf4 online.
hopefully it all gets patched and we all get a good experience as there’s no reason this game should cause either console problems.

Buying, the main reason the ps3 repeatedly has these minor downgrades is simple, the engines are designed around 360 first. If they worked in reverse, then there’s little to code between them. Look at Castlevania, which us even running on modified ue3 engine and looks and runs fine. If Devs want, they can spend time and effort to get it to run with parity, in almost every case. Each have strengths and weaknesses, and regardless of anything else, nothing on 360 comes close to matching visuals of uc3,kz3 etc. Sony screwed up royally by n making hardware so different to code for, but that doesn’t mean, it’s bad hardware, just not suitable for multi platform Ports from 360.
Anyway, you know this, and yet you carry on like some moronic child, repeating same rubbish repeatedly. Yes, I agree, same issues are observed time and time again in these Ports, but then you could still stop using derogatory words, deliberately , with no other purpose than to aggregate people. The 360 has a slight edge in terms of shadows and the AA… while the PS3 has better color and slightly better performance.
The 5 extra characters on the PS3… and the ability to play online with two people on the same console give the PS3 the obvious edge here.
And this is NOT a mandatory install on the PS3.

I think this site would be a lot more interesting if they did blind tests (similar to a blind taste-test) to see an unbiased, placebo free poll. Then after a certain number of votes are counted, reveal the winner.
