Tags: *To ensure color accuracy from the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U output, the PlayStation 3 has RGB Full Range set to "Full" and Super White "On", and the Xbox 360 has Reference Level set to "Expanded" and HDMI Color Space set to "RGB". Our capture card we have captured segments from the AVS HD 709 . Blu-ray, HD DVD, & MP4 Calibration suite.
As you will see, each system matches each other at the SOURCE LEVEL. No contrast or gamma settings are manipulated before or after capturing our images/videos. We strongly believe that these types of corrections are done on a individuals preference and should not be adjusted by us. Finally, washed out looking images that are due to contrast or gamma differences will not have any influence on our final verdicts. Funny, I’ve played both and the PS3 version doesn’t look anywhere near as bad as your screens make out.

Hey guys thanks for the comments, Let me try to answer some questions. Madden is a very dynamic driven game, especially in the cut scenes. So Time of day is not always going to be exact, and the lighting and shadows are very difficult to match up.
That being said, graphically differences like texture resolution is more constant and will not change. One last thing, when playing any game in real-time graphical differences are almost impossible to catch without freezing the frame and taking a screenshot to compare side by side as we do. The amount of post processing effects, such as motion blur make is very hard to catch any differences when the games is in motion.

yeah you played Both but you didn’t grab screenshots. try to run both with same brand of TV and same settings, it’s not good to compare both game graphics if you will play the PS3 version first then play the Xbox 360 version later, there are a lot of difference if you take screenshots. I’m also PS3 owner and if XBOX 360 win so XBOX 360 win.
to everyone, Try to run both games with same brand of TV and same settings, it’s not good to compare both game graphics if you will play the PS3 version first then play the Xbox 360 version later, there are a lot of difference if you take screenshots and also the brand of TV that you are playing makes a lot of difference in colors, contrast, etc. that is why some of you will say that their screenshots doesn’t look like the way you see it on your TV, but if you will set a different setup for grabbing screenshots with better color than the setup they are using, the console with the better lighting effects and graphics capabilities will still win. I also own a PS3 and I don’t care if XBOX 360 is better in graphics in some games, if XBOX 360 win so XBOX 360 win, the most thing here is the game play and how you enjoy playing games. All hardware are not perfect they will be obsolete in a couple of year and all this hardware that we think is so awesome will be collecting dust in the storage rooms. my PS3 is not the best it will entertain me when I play on it but it will not help me in all the things I need to survive on this world..It’s just a machine..
Interesting to see LOT admit that the graphical differences we see on here are basically impossible to spot during gameplay. Sort of erases the whole point, bringing console of choice being a matter of what else it can do other than games. We all know which one would win that……
Thier screen grab shots have been terrible lately. Anyway, a Madden Game? I already know the outcome of this before I even view the pics.
I played the new transformers game last night and studied the graphics in depth. It looks a million times better than the previous screenshot comparison on here. Strange.

Come on, guys. We don’t need this. The result for any Madden NFL title would just be the same as the last. I seriously am not even sure why you guys would even bother. What we need right now are the performance analyses for the other titles… and a full Head2Head for Lollipop Chainsaw.

Are we really surprised that the 360 won with a Madden comparison? The Madden team is terrible at making a proper PS3 version. Since, the PS3 has been out the Madden games have all looked better on 360.
Stop blamming the screen shoots. You can’t hide pixelation in a screen shot. The PS3 screen shoots are terrible let’s be honest. If you own both systems buy the 360 version if you don’t what do you care you have no choice anyway.
Expected as much,all EA sports games have been superior on the 360 both visually and performance wise,nothing changes here.
As for complainers the screen shots are crap on the PS3;it has nothing to do with LoT’s calibrations.These images are still pictures not in motion,they capture the output signal not post processed on a TV.Sure they might look better on your screen,because your TV adds things to them.Eventhough that’s the case,as a user of both consoles i have a system that i can compare them side by side,and all i can tell,these pics are pretty accurate.Colors,contrast and gamma levels can be adjusted,however the textures,ligthing and resolution figures cannot.The Xbox 360 has won this generation’s console wars long ago,deal with it..
You are right, samchez77 didn’t know that brightness, contrast and sharpness are different depending on the brand of TV you are playing your game at, but he did not know that Textures, Anti-aliasing, and Lighting Effects, Etc will not be the same on the two consoles, and if the screen shots will be adjusted in color, brightness, etc the version with the best graphics will still going to win. Samchez77 and other PS3 fun boys are still posting the same comments that it’s not what it looks like on there TV but they they don’t even have the time to screen capture it and compare the pictures. Everyone is free to leave a comment I just want to say something about this matter, the purpose of the people who made this site is to compare the differences in graphics and performance and I know they are doing it right, the bottom line here is that the screenshots on the games shows the difference in textures, anti-aliasing and lighting effects and yes you can adjust the brightness, color and contrast on your TV to improve your viewing experience but you can’t change the effects that is used in the game. I love my PS3 and also my XBOX 360, so I will buy this game on my XBOX 360 besides I like the XBOX 360 controller better.
your both wrong. I am well aware of certain television brand’s post-processing effects, and I have all mine switched OFF on my tv and the image is raw as can be. But it is true that they capture straight from the console and not a display. I’m saying ALL the screen shots are bad, just lately.
And for the record i am in full agreance that the Xbox has “won” this MULTI-PLAT generation. There is no doubt that games are much easier and cheaper to dev on the 360. Wait until next gen, I’m sure Sony has learn’t thier lesson, and fully aware it will be thier last chance. HOWEVER, the superiority of the PS3 exclusives (of which there are many great titles) cannot be denied. If you do, your an Xbot and missing out on some of the best games ever created. Proof of a more capable and advanced system. Jut such a PAIN to dev for.
Multiple game disks? No thanks. Bugger all media options? Not for me. Limited HDMI 1.2 bandwidth = No true stereoscopic 3D. Limited sound output options, bad hardware design (RRoD & Disc scratching), MS exclusive HDD’s, and the list goes on.
The “victory” is not a clean cut as it would seem.

The PS3 just sucks man. I’m sorry. Everyone knows this now that this gen is ending. Actually people probably realized this earlier but if they didn’t realize it earlier they definitely know now for sure. It was just a huge disappointment. Exclusives are nice but I’m sorry multiplats are the games that get released more frequently.
I mean besides a few cool games like uc3 and kz3 it won’t be remembered for much. It was a nice blu-ray player.
what a load of rubbish. The biggest memory left about the Xbox will be the RRoD scandal.
I agree this is a multi-plat gen for sure, but I’d rather take a few hits in sharpness and have access to Sony’s brilliant and prolific exclusives, than be stuck in Microsoft world, where most of its exclusives are available on PC anyway.
The differences we see lately when the Xbox wins are so minute, that is impossible to spot without very close analysis.
The Sony, like most things in life, achieves great results with time, effort and money spent on it. MOST mainstream mulit-plats are just like factory churned out Hollywood movies with little soul, like say, COD. Not all, but a lot are. And devs usually give the PS3 the short end of the stick due to it being much more expensive to dev for. So leading dev on Xbox, and doing shoddy ports to PS3 is the most financially viable option these days. Everyone knows to get the PS3 to sing, and game needs to be designed on it from the ground up. Simple math.
If you believe your cheap PC in a box Xbox is the only decent choice, then you are sadly missing out.

If these screenshots are truly reflective of the final build of the game for both consoles then that’s just unacceptable. Especially considering we’re almost six years into the PS3′s shelf-life. The 360 version looks better in pretty much everything from textures to lighting to AA. And I’m not a 360 fanboy. I own both consoles and love them equally. On that note, I seriously need to pick up a GameCube compatible Wii to play RE Zero and 1 before 6 comes out.
Those 2 games were rereleased on wii with optional controls, you don’t need a backwards comparable wii to play them (if you can find them that is)

If its an EA Sports title, I always go with the 360 version! NHL, NFL, FIFA!
Same goes for 2K Sports NBA series, thats an auto 360 buy.
Although for baseball, its PS3, thx to MLB The Show being exclusive.

the ps3 version actually looks pretty bad when compared to the Xbox version, the textures on clothing and the ball just disappeared on ps3, not counting the fact that the letters are in uniform with jagged edges …

Anyhow, have you checked out our F.A.Q page at the top there? In there it explains how we capture at the source level. We don’t use external devices like TV’s or gamma settings before capturing.
I can assure you, we HAVE NEVER altered any screen shot comparison. As a matter of fact; Shawn and I are the ones who do the capturing and believe me, we check, check and double check, everything before hitting the submit button. The credibility of our work is at the up-most importance. This is the same for our users here.

Since when does an Australlian, or anyone else outside the United States care about American Football???
Canada has there own more exciting version of American football with only three downs, so that way there will always be a lot of exciting passing plays. But, I thought American football was rejected by the rest of the world because it’s too boring (and it is much of the time).
I played Madden football and NCAA football (American football) and it gets old quickly.
For non-stop action and excitement, get EA’s NHL 13 instead. Non-stop action and fun. No bordemn, no tedium and drudgery like American football.
If you never seen an ice hockey game in person, go see one. You’ll renounce all other sports. Watching ice hockey on television doesn’t do it justice.

Strange, I looked at the performance analysis and it seemed that the xbox version became significantly blurrier once you started playing and it hit 60 fps. It’s worth mentioning since there isn’t a single frame here taken during actual gameplay. Perhaps it’s due to the capturing method, It’s impossible to tell. Just don’t count the PS3 out just yet until we know for sure.
