Conclusion: In the end it was a close battle between the two versions. Both versions seemed to have small instances where they would pull ahead of the other, but these areas were few and far apart with very little impact overall. The game looks good on both versions and plays with nearly flawless performance on both ends. Furthermore both versions presented load times that will make you wait just as much as the other during your adventures. We feel confident in saying that both versions of this game deliver what they set out to do and any small differences you may find won’t matter while actually playing, or at least boil down to personal preference.

The visual side of things had small areas that shined on one version over the other, but both versions had their moments. Furthermore all of the differences that could be found were extremely minimal and offer no real advantage. In the end, they will both look the same while your playing it. | ![]() |

Performance was a close bout and the PS3 did go above and beyond the 30 FPS mark, but the 360 version was much more consistent and hung back with a frame rate cap that the PS3 version lacked. With this in mind, you are more likely to notice the few times that the frames drop on the PS3 version than you are on the 360. With all factors taken into consideration, this category ends in a tie. | ![]() |

Really not much too talk about here. Both games looked almost identicle. I would have to agree with Jaime. If I were to get this I’d got for the 360. Just because I prefer their network. |

Played the demo of this a while ago and it seemed pretty good.
The platform differences are so insignificant that you wouldn’t be able to tell without a side-by-side comparison.
Since PS3 is my main platform and the game isn’t much different from either version, I would go with the PS3 version.
I also think the PS3 controller goes better with these kind of games.
360 version looks sharper
HAHAHAHAHAHA both version looks like crap compared even to 2 years old Overlord 2 LOL.
Are you alright?
Obvious buy for the PS3. 360 controller can’t even handle shooters right, let alone top down dungeon crawlers. As usual, obvious win for the PS3, seeing as the 360 version can’t even go above 30 FPS.
360 is sharper with less jaggies, but the Ps3 has higher frame rate.. but I dont get what you mean by “360 controller can’t even handle shooters right” 360 controller is far superior let alone for FPS games.
It’s quite obvious that PS3 has the superior controller for TPS and FPS. 360 controller is awkward and you as well be playing an FPS with a Gamecube controller seeing as they’re both almost the exact same. 360 controller is terrible for shooters and is even worse for twin stick titles and fighters.
PS3 controller just makes sense, while Microsoft couldn’t have made a worse controller.
No it’s bait WATCH OUT! XD
Why do you ALWAYS have to say something about the controllers?
Do you have a mental disorder?
It is as Twist3dDM3RC said, he’s throwing out bait. And you’re biting. It used to be somewhat subtle, but has really begun to grow recently. At least I know he’s not serious about it.
And it’s also starting to grate. It’s not funny and just bores me.
If I buy you an Xbox will you promise to stop being such an idiot? You make no sense, the Xbox controller is X times better for 3ps and Fps games, the Ps3′s is superior for fighters and platformers. What the hell is your deal man? Get both, save us all the headache of your stupid rantings.
Jebati isus mater i dont buyn this shit even if someone offers me 1000$ LOL!!!!!
Now just waiting ANDROID to come comment!!!!!
LOT fanboys clear tie yet they still try and say the 360 is the better version.
lol yeah, its known throughout the wider gaming circles that they have always favoured the Xbox where they can. Lately they hve been surpressing it well, but every now and then bias rears it’s ugly head.
I have both consoles. I’m picking Ps3. Does my dick get magically bigger now? Seriously all these Ps3 fanboys are starting to grind my gears.
Meh, just another game for the bargain bin. PASS
@ Lens of Truth:
This is kinda off topic, but I remember someone asking a while back about a H2H for Oblivion (now that the 5th anniversary edition is out) taking into account all the patches and improvements the game received–like, for example, the graphics patch on the 360 version.
I think they mentioned the idea of another H2H for GTA4 too, though I’m not aware of a lot that has changed with that game off the top of my head.
Anyway, could you give a yay or nay on whether you have any interest in taking another look at Oblivion to compare the fully patched, modern versions at some point?
We are planning on doing this Head2Head soon, just kinda of hard finding both copies. Never the less, we’ll get her done!
Please do a head to head on heavy rain and alan wake, if you do I will send you a bag of skittles.
I will gladly send two bags of skittles lol.
I’ll send a family size bar of Cadbury’s dairy milk and a cream egg. Beat that!
Pfft, Skittles are way better..
Double Decker wins, no comeback!
Tie. Just ignore these last words. Saying “Tie” was too short so I decided to write this after it
Whats with the comments LOT? Your review simply stated that both versions had thier ups and downs and resulted in a tie! But your own comments on the game you are completely one sided. “the Xbox wins hands down” & “Personally, it’s a pretty easy calculation. Better graphics + better performance = Win for Xbox 360.”. Careful guys, your letting your American patriotic pride get in the way again. Look at what the general public think in the vote! Clearly otherwise……
Yeah, i’m confused at that aswell. Everthing in the article points towards an obvious tie and then those two comments go completely against the grain. Hmm, well i suppose it is personal preference.
Hey ColonelHamFist.
Sorry for the confusion. Shawn and I forgot to update our personal opinions. Those comments were from another Head2Head. This happen because we used a temple from another analysis, i think Drit3. Again, sorry guys for the confusion and we’ll try not to ever do that again.
Well that makes sense. The comments were out of context! I think you gave Android123 a hard on though……..lulz
I think a lot of us spotted the obvious mistake.
But i certainly wasn’t going to mention it as the ps3 fanboys were doing what they do best(moaning about it lol).
I was expecting another petition from them about how biased LOT are towards the 360
Cheers for clearing that up Jaime.
Yeah the comments at the end favour the 360 2 to 1.
So at least we know what the real better version is
2 to 1 is also the number the 360 is outselling the ps3 in America at the moment funnily enough.
I like that number lol.
The xbox is is outselling the PS3 2 to 1 because everyone who buys an Xbox ends up having ot buy at least 2 where as everyone who buys the PS3 usually only has to buy 1.
I’ve had 2 PS3′s…But i do seem to be a console killer…
Hmmm , notice u didn’t mention the Japanese 360 to ps3 sales ratio lol
The df article is more detailed about the pros and cons of each, but come to conclusion that you have to chose ur poison basically . No clear winner for me at all.
Off topic totally , just picked up a cheap second Hand elite , bloody hell , forgot how noisy they were. Gears of war 2 definitely as I remembered; overrated . I’m going to give online a bash though to see if I will fancy gears 3 for online, but after uc3 beta it has lot to do to change my opinion of which is better.
Replaying crysis 2 and have to say the sharper 360 image is better than ps3 version overall, but definitely misses the AF of ps3 version at times, and wtf is wrong with the stairs in pier 17 in the mall, they look weird.
I’d forgot how much fun the mp was on this, Shame it took them this long to get it kinda working. Also they still not fixed grain glitch apparently .
Typical Suarez, finds something good to say about crysis 2 being better on 360, then has to throw in something to make the ps3 version sound not so bad(missing AF).
I can’t even see the difference on my imaginary pc when i select AF 16x compared to it switched off.
You must have the eyes of a hawk lol.
And why did you buy one of the older noisy 360′s? The new black ones are as quiet as the ps3 any day of the week.
It’s madness to buy anything other than a black slim 360 these days.
At least is shows you can be sensible at times by getting another 360, but you bought the wrong model
I only bought it to play FIFA online with few friends tbh( couldn’t resist picking up gears, crysis and halo reach though ), so cheap and cheerful 360 suits me fine, I just install games to hard drive .
Hey I only tell the truth, it’s not like I’m slagging either version off, just noting my observation . Crysis 2 looks nicer for most part on 360 , but there’s definitely elements of it better on ps3.
As for gears 2, loved the level inside the worm , but the vehicle sections suck big time IMO. Pretty much completed it in co-op with brother this time, and dint give up like before .
It’s a good game in campaign , but think uc2 is class above; however each to their own. Hoping the mp is fun on gears.
I dont need to defend ps3 version , but if I wanted to I’d have reverted to the crysis 2 360 frame rate, the AF and the grain glitch , but I honestly can’t be bothered to go there. Crytek strike me as clowns, who can’t optimise to save life, and rushed game out as it’s still got lot of bugs.(loud music on mp screen still present unbelievably)
Anyway in regards to the wrong model 360. Are u saying that the old 360′s had something wrong with them??? Lol
What could that be?
I have always said each console has benefits , and I maintain that. I have no need to buy 250 gb 360 slim as I won’t use it that much, so elite suits me fine .
Still prefer playing on ds3 pad, but can live with the 360 pad .
Gears had a big focus on MP as well, so it’s no suprise UC2 is a class above not just this game, but any game in SP. Funnily enough, when i say Gears 2 had a big focus on MP, it took them 6 F%^*ing title updates to fix it lol.
Don’t compare Gears 2 MP to Gears 3. Gears 3 is in a league of its own, while Gears 2 you have top deal with clunkier controls, stupid, annoying and overpowered bots, and host advantage.
Trust me, I have been playing Gears 2 more since Gears 3 beta, and it is nothing like it.
But having seen the success of UC3 MP, it’s no suprise if anyone lost interest in other games MP…….even if just a tad.
@android123
How’s the 360 doing in Japan?
^ lulz. so true.
Even samchez agrees.
Wow, if Sanchez says so, it must be true lol. I got my elite and brand new RDR for £100 with 12 month guarantee. they wanted £180 for 250 gb slim with no games, that 80 quid bought me crysis 2, gears 2, FIFA 11 , and I still had enough left to pre order uc3 or gears 3.
Still think my way works better for me lol
All your s**t stirring made me forget my actual point about this game lo
A simple mheh sums up my feeling to it lol
Rpg= zzzzzzz for me.
No real worries for either system owners on this title.
lol. I didn’t agree. My comment was a reply to permafrost’s comment about having to buy 2 xbox’s instead of just one, resulting in the over all American sales figure. hahahaha. I love this shit.
As per my previous comment on another page – How do you explain the Wii then? A vastly under powered machine that has out sold the entire competition!!!lol. Proof alone that price point, and agressive marketing can sell third rate sand to Arabia!!!! Sales figures are a direct relation to price, advertising and Marketing. Trust me. Marketing is my thing. I work in it, and have a degree. There are of course exceptions. Like the Vuze (ahem!) sales VS iPod. But in the console case, the Wii sales are direct evidence that more hardware sales don’t mean more power. And remember, American company=strong USA sales. American patriotism is a powerful force. The high doses in Transformers 3 nearly made my sick! (not that theres anyhting wrong with patriotism of course!)
Have i been hearing wrongly? I thought the Xbox 360 has been behind the ps3 sales for at least a whole year, well at least recently. I could easily go to that fanboy site n4g as they have sales figures up there, and it shows 360 in last place.
Anyways, i thought both versions looked like ass. The shadows clearly show that we need to make our blacks blacker, as they look like a dark purple with a blue tinge.
I voted ‘tie’, as it was most obviously a tie. Why do people vote otherwise when the writing is on the wall? it says which do you think wins the head to head, not which one are you getting. (in which case tie voters are non-partial and might not get it at all).
Then again, it just everyones opinion. I don’t generally vote for graphics, but overall quality. Add up all of the things the LoT staff have taken the time to do an analysis of, like loading times, performance etc. Back to my original point, this game looks like a$$
This game is so-so only at best & yea PS3 & Xbox360 version is too identical to me. Any version will do just fine.
@shawn lot staff
Where is the clear win on xbox everything is a tie although performance should be a ps3 win as the ps3 doesnt dip below 25 and goes as high up as 40 fps so this is a ps3 win so score things properly and stop being so baised
Performance shouldn’t be a ps3 win just because there’s no cap in place for that version.
Unlocking the framerate usually causes the framerate to be erratic and all over the place.
It can be the sign of technical issues as well, the ps3 version probably slowed down too much with a cap in place.
Homefront 360 also used an unlocked framerate compared to the ps3 version.
The ps3 version of homefront won the h2h here lol.
ah, but what you do there is you take two examples using uncapped frame rates, speculate about the ps3 performance, and contrast it with a 360 uncapped frame rate game’s performance. the ps3 version of this game is generally steady, and this is visible from the average frame rate data above , and it occasionally goes a bit higher, and drops, but stays above 30. If homefront on 360 doesnt match those characteristics, then you cant compare the fairly.
even more comically, it didnt get a win, it got tie, so you should check ur facts before u make a plonker of urself lol
You typing on your ipod again?
Hard to understand any of that with so many typos lol.
I can’t work out if you’re talking about this game that got a tie or Homefront(which got a ps3 win here as i said).
Please keep up suarez
I am keeping up, but u clearly aren’t as u not sure what u said it seems lol, so I’ll refresh for u.
“Performance shouldn’t be a ps3 win just because there’s no cap in place for that version.
Unlocking the framerate usually causes the framerate to be erratic and all over the place”
“Homefront 360 also used an unlocked framerate compared to the ps3 version.
The ps3 version of homefront won the h2h here lol.”
The ps3 version didn’t win , it was voted a tie for this game “That being said, this category will be considered a tie overall.”
I also pointed out that you speculate about ps3 performance being Erratic , which seems to largely not be the case, or framerate averages would be hugely different. Uncapping of frame rates can be indicative of struggling technically , but this is accompanied by screen tearing galore usually, if that’s the case.
I also pointed out that to compare this game to homefront is not reasonable unless their framerate patterns are comparable, even though they are both unlocked.
Finally , as I pointed out , the ps3 version of homefront didn’t get a win based on performance, but in fact won based on, overall they felt the ps3 version felt more polished.
“PlayStation 3 wins this time around by having slightly more polished graphics. Our images prove that the PlayStation 3′s character models and lighting look superior on the PlayStation 3. Then add some extra post processing effects here and there and you get the point. PlayStation 3 wins this time around.”
So what typos are there in that post??? It’s quite clear , as usual , ur wrong!
A typical suarez essay type reply
If the framerate is unlocked it’s bound to be erratic when you circle the scenery around your character.
That’s what i meant by erratic(the framerate will be fluctuating like a yoyo).
My homefront point was because ness32 thought the ps3 dungeon siege should win because of a higher framerate.
You can see homefront on the 360 go to the high 40′s low 50′s at times(the ps3 one is capped at 30)but it didn’t help the 360 version win the h2h here.
Both versions tore like champions as well.
Higher unlocked framerates don’t automatically = a better experiance.
Now back to the glue sniffing with you lol.
If that was a typical Suarez comment, then urs was typically android , ie missing the point.
I agree that a higher uncapped frame rate doesn’t necessarily equal superior Performance, but my point was that it clearly isn’t fluctuating a lot , otherwise the average frame rate wouldn’t be so close to 30 all the time.
According to eg there was fluctuations and they could be large , and they felt it was disruptive to gameplay, but clearly this is subjective as others don’t necessarily perceive these fluctuations , otherwise lot would have noted same.
As u yourself noted , homefront tore like a bitch, the uncapped frame rate doing it no favours either , and ps3 version was equally crap, but this game isn’t tearing like a bitch, so it’s unlikely that it’s fluctuating as much as homefront did, as the two usually go hand in hand.
Now stop sniffing the urinal blocks to get high, cause u can’t afford the glue anymore lol
Urinal blocks lol.
If sniffing the urinal’s makes typo errors as much as you then i’ll stay away from them
We’ll call this bitter feud a draw then
(with me slightly ahead).
So much nonsense here! It’s an obvious tie but specific consoles fans troll the comments like buzzers. Crap! Grow up!
The voting is just asking which performs better, so it’s a tie.
The LoT staff aren’t fanboys, they stated it was a tie and in the conclusion gave it to the 360 as they were more familiar with it, not saying that the 360 is the better version.
And besides, if the LoT staff have been called fanboys by both Xbox owners and Ps3 owners, i think that means they have done a good job, as it shows there is no real prejudice against one side.
If you want a real fanboy hive, go to N4G………of course, everyone over there will deny it lol.
If I ever needed evidence u talk gibberish , this would be it. I went back to that face off, and performance was declared a tie, with both versions hovering around 30. I didn’t read article in detail, but I didn’t spot any mention of uncapped frame rate either.
Lay off the glue sniffing mate, it willdestro ur remaining brain cell lol
did you mean to reply to me? you just repeated what i said (that it was a tie) and to be quite frank, the reply was a bit harsh considering i didn’t go to either side nor say anything that should offend anyone on this site.
I don’t know whether that was just a mistake on your behalf, and you were supposed to reply to ANDROID123, but if it wasn’t, please explain in detail what i said if any of it was out of line, so that i may prevent myself from mentioning it again, within reason of course
EDIT: i read your follow ups to ANDROID123, and the reply that was to me perfectly fits what should go after ANDROID’s last reply lol. i suppose i just confused?
Yes Dylan he has a habit of confusing people with his delusional posts lol.
He was worse when he used to post under his older kirankara name though.
He was more of a nutcase back then
‘Lay off the glue sniffing mate, it willdestro ur remaining brain cell lol’
Fantastic typos.
Looks like i’m not the only one who’s been sniffing glue lol.
“Fantastic typos.
Looks like i’m not the only one who’s been sniffing glue lol.”
I know I shouldn’t interfere, but what the heck; “ZZZIIIINNGG”
lol, I call em’ as I see em’
(this should be taken lightly)
If you take the time to read the previous comments, you will notice this:
“Sorry for the confusion. Shawn and I forgot to update our personal opinions. Those comments were from another Head2Head. This happen because we used a temple from another analysis, i think Drit3. Again, sorry guys for the confusion and we’ll try not to ever do that again.”
I too was confused by the staff comments, but this explains it. (They are still Xbox fanboys though lulz)
Why do people think that sales make something the best? What are they? Stock brokers? It’s about the quality and not how many are bought.
Its clearly a tie. Even Torchlight is many times better then DS3 so its mediocre at best. Can get Torchlight at USD5 or lower I think. DS3 is so expensive compared to it.
