*To ensure color accuracy from the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U output, the PlayStation 3 has RGB Full Range set to "Full" and Super White "On", and the Xbox 360 has Reference Level set to "Expanded" and HDMI Color Space set to "RGB". Our capture card we have captured segments from the AVS HD 709 . Blu-ray, HD DVD, & MP4 Calibration suite.
As you will see, each system matches each other at the SOURCE LEVEL. No contrast or gamma settings are manipulated before or after capturing our images/videos. We strongly believe that these types of corrections are done on a individuals preference and should not be adjusted by us. Finally, washed out looking images that are due to contrast or gamma differences will not have any influence on our final verdicts. Please Read through our F.A.Q page if you have any questions or concerns.*

It would be a tie. But I give the win to the PS3 for the simple reason that I own it. And that anything branded MS sucks. So I said. Amen.
It is a tie no matter which system it’s on.
You don’t understand the soul of this site: no matter how bad the version for your beloved console is, it will be always superior to the other one. That is especially true when comparing X360 games. They are worse by definition. For the simple reason that to give money to MS it is a crime against humanity and it is not fun to be called “xbot”.
I give downvotes for biased fanboys such as yourself. Whatever you own at home is completely irrelevant to the outcome of this comparison. The comparison is done for the benefit of other, not to inflate your pitiful ego. Jesus Christ, I’m amazed that TLOT staff hasn’t cleaned out the house already or disabled comments or something. The amount of fucking retards here never ceases to amaze me.
@Fluffy Out of irony, aren’t we? It is pretty obvious that I am sarcastic. Who really gives a damn about these comparison. They are just good to piss off “the other side”. The two consoles more or less are equivalent in terms of graphical capacity (and this H2H is a clear example), as they have always been. Extreme examples are Skyrim, pretty bad on PS3 before 5 or 6 patches, and FF XIII, ugly and frame rate dropping on X360. Which shows how the difference in graphics is all on sw development. No need to get upset, mate!
dude the only difference i can see even with ps3 fanboy vision on is that the gamma ps3 brighter and 360 well darker where as for the textures and other things its the same
As expected from Visceral Games. Graphics is seemingly identical across platforms. I would expect performance to yield similar results, too.
@Lens of Truth Are you guys going to work on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo too, or are you going to wait for the retail version?
Yes sir, check back shortly!!
Definitely a tie but getting it on PS3 to finish off my trilogy collection. I can’t wait to see comments like “Another crushing defeat for PS3″ lol I love the humor and passion of the community here. Makes my day.
Practically a tie save for some minor gamma, lighting and motion blur differences.
As usual, Visceral Games once again deliver the most identical multiplatform game of this generation. Performance will no doubt be 1:1 as well just like their last two games.
However, I still wonder if they should definitely be praised for their efforts, or if we should just lower our heads in shame that other studios still do absolute asstastic jobs.
Not too content with developers’ aim for identical-looking games, since I believe that one console is superior. for instance, people demand that the pc version of any multiplat game will be “outstanding” when compared to the console versions; but console versions needs to be identical. people in here even applaud a studio for a “job well done”, when two games looks 99.99 identical.
i feel that visceral made the ps3 mimic the 360 version, and it makes me wonder what the game could’ve looked like if it had been done by santa monica studios.
Bah. Nothing in this is worth arguing about so I call a tie, as expected. I played a bit of the demo of this last night. (great demo for those who haven’t….get it.)
I was initially very impressed. Fantastic Graphics, and it seems to be a bit of “Isaac meets Nathan Drake” in the gameplay and cinimatics (and just as linear).
Still yet to finish the demo or try the MP but so far so good.
So, on average how is the parity of most ps3/360 multiplats these days anyway? Like, is it to the point I can buy most games on PS3 and not have to worry?
It really depends on the developers. Many have definitely stepped their game up when it comes to PS3 development while others are still lying in the gutter (Treyarch – these guys also suck at PC development! – and Bethesda come to mind). As long as you avoid certain developers who are far off from achieving platform parity (always the same few), most of your PS3 game collection will be great. Even Platinum Games who never even bothered with PS3 development in the past have been getting better results on the PS3 over the 360. Same with Valve (for Portal 2 at least).
Also, be cautious when the game runs on the Unreal Engine 3. Only a few developers have really got the hang of that engine on the PS3 such as Grasshopper Manufacturers, Rocksteady, DICE, and possibly Irrational Games.
I frankly just got annoyed over the years waiting for a comparison to come out for each game I was thinking about getting on PS3 because I couldn’t be sure it would be equa. Atleast with 360 9 times out of 10 it’s atleast equal.
Guess its still case by case. I really look forward to ps4 and seeing if Sony fixes this multiplatform issue.
parity! did not even need to look as its visceral and they know how to code for ps3, all these masive developers and there huge budgets and only companys like rocksteady and visceral and a few others have managed to make coding ps3 seem a walk in the park.
It almost tie … However bloom effect in the open environment on PS3 is more noticeable, but mainly PS3′s better draw distance truly set the two version apart, PS3 wins!
definitely a tie
@Lens of Truth you guys should do these without stating which set of pictures is for which system until s few days after the vote has been up (it might balance out a lot of the silly fanboys in here
)
Both look fantastic and I have enjoyed playing the demo on both consoles but to me the textures look a little sharper on 360. Maybe its the gamma difference or maybe it’s just my eyes and I’m crazy but the ps3 one looks a little muddy to me. Just my 2 cents
360 version looks sharper
A tie for graphics but a win for PS3 due to better quality audio.
yes, I didn’t think of the audio. Games like the Dead Space series rely heavily on sound and atmospherics for the jump scares and tension. 7.1 surround FTW! Should not be played any other way.
I’d like to do my part for the smug pc gaming community, and say how my PC version will be infinitely better…….what’s that, Visceral aren’t actually offering any PC improvements????
Hmmm, well, it’s a tie then
Out of the closet I see.
I don’t even have to look at this comparison to know that the Xbox won. I mean really, why even release games on the PS3 anymore? At this point, the Atari 2600 has better graphics than that overpriced blu-ray player.
Ok, so you can clearly see in the 4-th image that the player has a full life in the PS3 version while in the Xbox version has a little shy of half the life.
This tells me that the PS3 version is superior because it is easier to play and it is easier to control the caracter in the environment.
That is it.

Hidden message (to all the haters that is a joke).
Will a proper Head 2 Head come out for this? I was kind of holding off because I can tell one version is a bit better, but can’t quite figure it out…
From what I can tell, the 360 looks to be a bit sharper…
Honestly, I say PS3 has an edge here.
First off, you can clearly tell it has the correct lighting, keep in mind the entire place is covered in -SNOW- so it’d make sense for everything to be a bit more white in terms of reflection and light. Where 360 seems to keep a lighting as if there was no snow.
PS3 also seems to have better particle effects, but-
I noticed the 360 has a better FoV in one of the images.
2 against 1, but FoV does really help with immersion, but so does lighting.
Its good to see the idiots being ignored, they only post extreme views to get attention.
Looks like a tie to me.
