Conclusion: Considering this is just a Beta build a verdict will not be given. Although there were slight graphical differences between platforms, this Head2Head was intended to bench mark the performance differences between both Beta versions of Battlefield 3 thus far. The big question is, how will the final retail versions stack up against one another. Until then, Battle on Brothers!

Judging from the screenshots, visually, the PS3 version has a slight advantage in textures and lighting over it’s Xbox 360 counterpart. But performance wise, the PS3 version suffers slightly more screen-tears which I hate. I got to try the Battlefield 3 beta on PSN earlier ago and actually had fun. Died countless times but I’ve never been a fan of FPS so that’s to be expected.
Yes some lightning (though too much bloom can and DO looks terrible sometimes) and a few better textures – on the other hand PS3 has terrible washed colours, more scren tearaing and lower quality of shaders – there is much better bumpmapping on X360.
Overall X360 version looks and works slightly better.
Maybe you should have your eyes checked! Or perhaps you have mixed up things…
It’s just his opinion. People have different tastes when it comes to things. Sometimes I prefer a different quality of textures in a game than what could be the max graphics.
However, the only things fully different to me is some slight lighting variations, bloom on the PS3, and the higher resolution gun textures on the PS3. Everything else looks great.
Not sure if I prefer the bloom on the PS3 or the lesser bloom on the 360.

The ps3 was brighter at times than the 360, and I was actually leaning towards the 360 in this H2H up until the pic with the stain on the wall, after that I realized that ps3 had better textures. Hehe I found it kind of funny that in a game they touted as a graphic powerhouse they let that one stain look all blurry on the 360. I think playing with the brightness might make the ps3 version about as dark as teh 360. I liked some of the colors on the 360 better because of the added depth it seemed to give (at least to me), but liked the textures on the ps3. Aside from the stain on the wall, I also noticed on the pic inside the train/bus/etc on the roof the ps3 shows the vent in much more detail. On the 360 it kinda looked like the ceiling had texture or something. other than that i thought it was a tie.

Better performance on xbox 360,a little more fps,not much screen tear as ps3 and the enviroment looks with more contrast and better color,the ps3 looks a bit washed out.
In The ps3 the light is more but it doest look to real,look at the wall in the other side and its not iluminated like on xbox.
OK! For people who are really stupid! Here is another comparison that Robbaz has made on youtube. This guy makes awesome comparisons and if you watch the video it will show you that the ps3 version is better when it comes to graphix. Ps3, Xbox 360 and PC are in the video. And you will see that textures and lighting/bloom effect in the ps3 version are the closest to the pc version 0:07(xbox) 0:12(ps3) 0:18(pc). The ps3 version does not have as much washed out colors as the ”fanboys” are stating. The 360 version has higher contrast witch can be easily be fixed with in-game or tv settings on the other platforms(i have done it and works good). So as again all the fanboy words that have been thrown here are big bs. As the video shows there isn’t that much differences between them but the fanboys use all kind of methods to outdo there stupidity. Looks like crap on both consoles. I would go for the X360 version because screen-tearing gets me sick (and all my friends have only 360′s), but I think I’ll wait for the next generation of PC hardware. =/

well well well, looks like the rumours were true, and the PS3 definetly has the graphical advantage…..again. It will come down to final build performance however, and remember, the performance can not be judged on this beta. Going to be a good H2H…….
It is beta footage – footage of this game running newer code doesn’t have any tearing on either console.
As for the performance of this beta – you are not going to notice anything at all between the two (in terms of fps/tearing) at those numbers. Nothing in it.
Where the PS3 stands up and gets counted is with the graphics. They are clearly better but its no surprise. To be honest, you are not going to notice much of the differences on the 360.
DICE should be congratulated on getting this level of build pretty much level across platforms.
If there has to be a winner, and there does here, it’s PS3 but not by a huge amount.

How do you know the new code has no screen tearing?
Just watch any of the videos that have surfaced over the months that have newer code (it’s obviously newer code as it looks superb). Most are SP videos but that;s a good sign. Right?
Im still Torn (no pun intended) about which version to get. Any idea what resolutions these are running at?… Sub 720p on either?… Also, any ideas as to which anti ailising both systems are using?… Cant wait to see the final build analysis, so far though its a toss up for me, a couple extra bells and whistles with lighting on PS3 vs less screen tearing and faster frame rate on xbox 360. A down to the wire purchase

um what the difference of .01 fps in the first capture session? lol the difference of .5 in the 2nd? or the difference of .01 in the 3rd? Which one of those is the faster xbox frame rate. Since the difference is so minimal that 2nd testing being .5 instead of .01 could have just been because an abnormal amount of explosions since there is no way to record the same exact situation on both systems. Both the others being off by .01 of a frame shows that they are basically exactly the same locked at 30 FPS just doing the flip between 29 and 30 occasionally for a split second.
@TRAXX, Just GTFO. Your such an embarrassment to this website. Anyway, I’m disappointed by the screen tearing on both consoles. Kind of ruins the experience a little. Hopefully the retail version doesn’t have any or at least a minimal amount. PS3 has slightly better textures and lighting which IMO is a little overdone which gives it a washed out look. Still I expected the PS3 to have the upper hand in terms of graphics. I don’t think anyone should be too surprised.

The washed out look is from bright lights but that’s not really a washed out look its bright lights lol. Look at the subway pic with all the pillars in front of the person. The 360s lighting looks like the rooms just lit but from where? idk you can just see. The colors are bright… but how? Florescent lights tend to give things a weird color and the rooms being lit by nothing but the giant ones. Which in the PS3 totally appear to actually be lighting a dark room and affecting the whole room. I don’t see any way of actually calling that a negative.
I just got to play the beta on my very own PS3 and I gotta say… The graphics aren’t exactly that special to me. It looks like a low-res shimmery mess to me.
Dare I say that MW3 is going to look better? I’m just not buying all the hype on this… what’s so special about these graphics except for the overuse of bloom and a cooler-tone color scheme?
Also, I threw a grenade directly at a van and NOTHING HAPPENED TO THE TRUCK. The grenade blew up and the van was just fine. At least Call of Duty lets you blow some vehicles up.

First of all the game is in Beta, 2nd: David Goldfarb, Lead Designer and Writer has stated that this was not the final look. Graphics were dumb’d down for the Beta. 3rd: People need to understand that this is not a DEMO so learn the purposes of a Beta before judging. H2H will be much more accurate after October 25th.
As for my honest opinion on this H2H showdown? PS3 takes it. You Xbox fanboys seem to be in denial, but of course most likely so that you can simmer down your insecurities. Isn’t this site called Lens of Truth? Thought so…
Tie for me, first few pictures 360 looked slightly better but the pictures with the lighting looking a hell of alot better on PS3. This will be an interesting H2H.

The added bloom effect on the ps3 lights on that subway shot is far too hazy and overly bright.

Not a fanboy but as a fan of the PS3 I am anything but afraid. Why you ask? Well, it’s a game for starters.
The PS3 version, regardless of how the 360 version plays, will be superb. So, in my mind everybody wins.
To be honest, after playing this Beta, I honestly don’t care. This is far from the graphical powerhouse that DICE was boasting it to be. I’m sure you saw The KZ3 comparison, and this game doesn’t even come close to KZ3. I know it’s a Beta, but very few games improve greatly from the Beta. Mabye some performance improvement and glitch fixes here and there, but no vast improvements. I think this is closer to the final product than people want to believe. I actually feel like I’ll be enjoying MW3 (a game that is superior on 360), more than BF3. Just my opinion. If PS3 wins this H2H, cool. If not, whatever. The game really sucks and is nothing like the multiplayer masterpiece that was Bad Company 2.
I’m more or less waiting on the Rage H2H. Carmack obviously knows his trade, because that’s a game that looks and performs much better than the likes of this pile of maneur. Sony, themselves, have even said that Rage will surpass Killzone 3. It will probably even be a better game than this crap.

I’ll be getting it on PS3, I usually use LOT for texture comparisons and performance comparisons since they use the default TV settings for both consoles, I have my brightness setting lower so PS3 games don’t usually look so saturated and pale.
I’m a little disappointed by the gun textures on both versions tbh but doesn’t really matter it is still a beta after all.

lol i guess the magical lighting of the 360 looks better. The room doesn’t even look like its being affected by the lights on the wall yet the room is magically lit up. While the PS3s lights actually look like they are whats lighting the room. xD Or the random blackness on the 360 version lol in a subway station fully lit up and somehow his hands are blacked out loosing detail. Yes the xbox does stuff darker a lot but as eurogamer said that’s done on the hardware not actually done by the developers. So its not the way it was designed to look or would even actually look in real life.
As far as I’m concerned its a Tie. It’s not the final release. The framerate could improve for PS3. The graphics may improve on Xbox. Will just have to wait and see.
It’s been said already that the graphics are not in full effect. They dumb’d it down for the Beta. Both of them will have better graphics & of course Frames will be on point
But they wouldnt have removed graphical features disproportionately in a way that favored one console. I don’t think a lack of destruction affects the footage we saw. For example, we don’t know if xbox will be given the same bloom effect.

From what i seen graphix go to ps3. Better textures, lighting/bloom effect and environments. The PS3 tears a little more, they both keep a good framerate but you can see some drops in them. Both tear more then 19% witch is pretty bad. I played on both cons and i have to say i seen the tear with my own eyes and its really lets me down. BUT its a beta, from the looks of it could be a really old build of the game so if people will go arrowed screaming ”WINNING” are really stupid. October 25 will decide the final winner. Now if you excuse me i’m going to play some more beta until i whait for my cheese sandwich to cook up.
I can confirm that the shadow on the floor that’s missing in the first shot on PS3 pops in after 3 seconds and looks exactly like the 360.
Weird how the author/writer only called out the shots that looked better on ps3 since I noticed a few shots that actually looked better on 360 and even though there’s more tearing on ps3, it’s only natural since this is a beta.
Overall I’d call this a tie.

This is a very interesting comparison! Both are running at the same slightly sub-HD resolution yet details are noticably sharper on the PS3. Textures go to the PS3 so XBots like Traxxx can take their comments and shove them up their ass for all I care on that matter. There is no way you can look at the wall close up on the first page and the gun close up on the second page and claim any different.
On the other hand the PS3 seems to be suffering from gamma issues, which can be adjusted, and the “extra” bloom effect needs to be scaled back a bit as it does tend to wash out the sharper image of that the PS3 indeed has. Overall, I’m giving visuals a tie due to the bloom effect on the PS3 being to aggressive.
Both versions perform like crap with to much tearing. The 360 tears less, but XBots really have no room to brag when it still has as high an average as 14%. It looks like DICE has some work to do before the final release, but I won’t lose hope from a beta comparison. Time and time again I have seen performance numbers and visuals look much better with a final release when compared to the original beta version.

I prefer the bloom affect. It makes it appear as if the lights are actually lighting the room. The Xbox picture with the pillars in the subway just looks weird. Whats lighting everything
So, I just got done playing the beta in Windows 7 and I can tell you think.
Playing it in full screen, I get screen tearing (regardless of the fact that I have v-sync set to ON) and when it’s not in full screen, not a single tear.
There’s definitely something wrong with the v-sync option in the PC version and I’m assuming the PS3 and 360 are suffering from the same problem as the PC version.
The v-sync option on the PC version didn’t work for me.
I don’t think vsync is enabled on PC jsut like ultra does nothing. Not 100% on that but pretty sure. When I enable it and have radeonpro to see fps, it fluctuates between 45-52 fps. Seen it go as 37 a few times also.
Yeah i see no difference from low to ultra either.

The ps3 torn the double,like 20% in the first part and the frame rate on xbox was a bit better.

Yeah I notice it too but everyone knows that the internet is infested with ps3 fanboys. It’s just the way it is. What’s worse however is that the staff on this site tries SO HARD to cater to them and to hold the ps3′s hand the way a mother holds and protects a 5-year old from the bullish older sibling (360).
I use that analogy because the 360 usually comes out on top in these face offs so in order to not look biased the LoT staff “protects” the ps3. This is my theory anyway. Obviously people will disagree but I couldn’t care less because I’m not the only one who has said this about this site.
Someone already mentioned it but it’s just weird how the author of this article goes out of his way to mention positives about the ps3 when overall the 360 looks better than the ps3 in most of those shots. All I’m gonna say is thank goodness for Digital Foundry who goes in depth with their analysis whether it’s a 360 win, ps3 win or draw.
What are you talking about.. Graphically the PS3 shots are better. Look at the underground in the second page. The X360 has a fake look. In the train the ceiling panels in the X360 nearly have no texture.
Still, if the price to play is an higher (noticeable) tearing, I would go for the X360, if I owned one.
Then don’t say BS about LoT pampering the PS3. Far too many times they gave the win to the XBot for vey subjective reasons. Also the truth is that MS has a policy in place that gives MS the right not to certify a game if the same version is better on another console!
Which explains why nearly all PS3 exclusives are much better than many multiplatform games in the PS3. And good luck with the stinking DL DVD drive. 9GB soon will be good just for arcades.
We’ll see with Dark Souls, since the first game was a PS3 exclusives. And rumor is that to fit on the DVD the X360 version will have compressed audio and video. It will probably be as bad as XBOX’s FF XIII.

I haven’t played either console, but I spent some time with the pc beta and for some reason I’m not really that blown away by the graphics. Its not that they are bad, they are extreme, especially on a modern gaming pc. Its just that I was expecting more. I guess its just how good graphics are these days like Crysis 2 on pc with Ultra on is pretty intense. I have rage pre-ordered and I can’t wait to see that too because the graphics are engineered in an entirely different perspective than anything before. Truthfully how far can the graphics go for a “game”. The route things are going, it seems like its an early 90′s VR fantasy. Hyper realistic graphics, 3D, motion controllers, camera interface, etc, etc. They are becoming less video games and more virtual reality simulators.

Why are people judging this game off a beta, its beta not the retail version. Screen tearing will happen in a beta just like glitches and bugs will happen. I really don’t think dice would release their game like it is now. This beta is probably old code and isn’t any of the new coding they have now.

Graphics and screen tear don’t matter when the game, while running very good, has as many bugs and glitches as Call of Duty Black Ops. There was more than one time I jumped to the ground only for all the ground textures to disappear. A few times I had to put almost a full clip into people, though that could be due to them having crap connection. I was shooting a guy who was close, but not close enough to knife at the time, he ran towards me which was only a few feet and knifed me, two seconds later he died as well.
I’m not getting the game anyways, but if I was, I’d want that bs fixed first and foremost. I honestly didn’t even notice the screen tearing while playing. I was playing on the PS3 version.
Based on the H2H and the amount that it did screen tear. I’d say it’s a tie, because the PS3 has slightly better graphics while 360 has slightly better performance.

I suggested this earlier. It seems that we have another la noire on our hands where textures load in at different times on each version.
This beta is a pretty old build of the game. This comparrison is fanboy bait pure and simple. Even comparing demos are stupid. Stick to comparring full versions lens of truth.
Mhmmm…The PS3 looks better (Textures, bloom) but it does look a bit washed out compared to Xbox 360 and no, It is not about changing brightness/contrast.

LOT doesn’t use a TV to capture the video… they capture the output directly to the computer. So the settings on the TV do not matter one bit. If the gamma is off, that’s how the game is. I’ve seen other head to heads where the gamma looks the same on both because the dev made them match.
You misunderstand Justspaz, the default gamma settings are different on each console is what Im saying(thats fact) and ps3 is industry standard, whilst 360 is higher, as ms feels thats most appealing, and useful for store presentation. Thus you have to change both on your tv(unless as happens occasionally they either correct them, or give option of in game correction)Its a well known fact.

Played a couple of games going back and forth between the 360 and ps3 versions and here is what I see…
The ps3 has better lighting but unfortunately this comes at the cost of a washed out and/or blurrier image. The 360′s lighting is scaled back but to me the 360 version as a whole is more pleasing to look at.
The 360 has a punchier and/or sharper image with better contrast. If people really want to know what I’m talking about go to the section of the game that represents the 7th pic in this article.
Yes there is lighting there in the ps3 version but it just doesn’t look good. Excessive lighting with a washed out/blurry image looks bad. If the ps3 had the sharp punchier contrast of the 360 I would say yes the ps3 looks better. What’s the point of having good lighting if you’re just gonna ruin it with a washed out image?
But it’s not just that. Interestingly is that those same alpha channels that could be found in the edges of BC2 on the 360 is found here on the ps3 giving the ps3 version a less polished look most notably around the trees. The 360 version just looked cleaner. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about with the alpha channels go to the second pic of the bc2 face-off…

Both versions had some jaggies. Both had pop-in but noticed it more in the ps3 version. To me textures looked the same in the game.
I can honestly see a 360 win here or tie. Lighting alone is not enough if it’s not complimented with other visual perks that adds to the overall image of the game.
ok i have played both demos and washed out isnt how id describe ps3 version, and going by these pics, its interesting how you miss out the various images with ps3 having sharper textures.
Im sorry, but all i see is 360 with less screen tearing, ps3 with less pop up, better lighting on ps3, and in the images I see both having texture differences at points, maybe there is some loading differences in textures, or maybe both have varying points with better/worse textures.

For gods sake, it DOESNT matter what version looks a LITTLE better.
Dice promised unbelievable Graphics and produced a hype so everybody was thinking: forget Gears, forget Uncharted, forget KZ3…and what got we here? An average looking shooter with average post-effects running in average 30fps, with tearing, glitches, bugs and so on.
And NO, the final release will NOT look that better. We all know that.
So everybody calm down. The two versions are nearly identical, just wait for DF to prove it. And even if one has slight advantages…this is NO revolution graphics wise.
It’s not a revolution no doubt, and is more an evolution . It’s not as pretty as gears, kz3 or uc3, but what people forget when they slagging it off, is that all those other games can’t compete in terms of map size, player count, environmental destruction, whilst it has a totally different art style , which relies less on the cartoon style.
Ps this build is apparently about 2 months old having had to go through various tests etc etc from dice and Sony that take a month just for those .
It will improve drastically in terms of screen tear and pop in , but I’m not expecting screen tear free game, but if it’s bc2 level or lower , then great.
What I am hoping they fix even more , is the gameplay. Feels too loose on controls , and generally too fast like cod , and players die too easily , whereas in bc2 , it took longer, meaning if someone started shooting at you , you had chance to fight back .
Much prefer bc2 so far. I’m even thinking of buying bc2 again of kz3 over this at moment , which was jet unthinkable a few days ago. I’m gonna carry on playing and see if it grows on me.
Ps having played both demos, ps3 version tears slightly more, 360 pops in more, but there’s no difference in contrast etc, when will people learn this. On a well calibrated tv, your ps3 version won’t look washed out. Similarly your 360 version won’t look too dark.
I struggled to get online on 360 version , as servers kept failing, so spent more time on ps3 version , and tbh on both versions , I didn’t even spot tear and pop in that much as you’re usually too busy looking around avoiding getting shot, but I’m not excusing it of it’s issues. They and the gameplay issues need to be fixed before I buy.

such a glitchy game screen tearing, Screen flickering, buggy smoke, falling through the ground, glitch spots(many spots where you stuck) Flying corpses, insane texture loading etc etc.. even tho its hilarious to play actually.. anyway they will fix it or atleast i hope so 
OT : Some benefits ps3, some xbox.. really not that much of a difference in the beta except for better performance on xbox.. Which dice surely will fix hopefully – my 50 cent i call it a tie in beta..

i really am shocked tbh, to see that either performs this badly, , but it is old code, anywhere upto a few months according to some individuals. I am not worried so much about glitches and so forth, thats fairly normal for a beta. Crysis 2 on ps3 was woefully bad, and was vastly improved in time for retail, in matter of weeks, so thats not my concern. My concern is whether the essential gameplay is flawed , as its not as fun as bc2 imo.
I still think overall, ps3 version will come out on top in retail versions, but as long as one of them is better than these betas im happy, as i really want a good team based mp, and might have to go back to bc2 and kz3 at this rate.
I agree with you about the differences here..they are minimal and pretty much neglegable….also an exclusive is always gunna look better…also to note the games listed have a more cartoony look to them givingway to more creative use of the hardware…not to say they don’t look amazeing…but anyway…the final product will look better…cliping screentearing and pop ins will be minimized…not to mention they may have comressed the textures for quick dowwnload(as they did in the MoH BETA) as it was only 1 Gig for a game that spans 2 disks on the xbox….most demoes run closer to 2..
This game has graphics that remind me of Crysis 2.(Without the horrible framerate but screen tearing instead that also hinder gameplay.) This is not the best graphics I´ve ever seen but it does look good in some parts. BTW wasn´t this game supposed to have fully destructible buildings? Because the developers said the game has but from what I´ve played so far there is no destructible enviroments.
I’m also disapointed in this and hoe they have a few maps with fully destructable buildings…otherwise BFBC 2 may stay my topp shooter depending on how well the included the jets.
apparently they left some of the code out to make download smaller. Destruction and vehicles were left out.
Was reading that they might open up another map for us…(Caspian Border I believe) hopefully true… and hopefully it has vehicles and full on destruction…Eitherway got to a couple of games in today and I’m really enjoying it….still a day one as it is an improvement in many area;s over BFBC 2…Holding out for conquest mode though…that’s where the real wars at.

I just hope they don’t have choppers flying circles around the map shooting looking like it got caught in a tornado, I have no real experience but I’m 99% sure that’s not how helicopters are meant to be used.
I don’t mind if they can be taken out as easily as in BC2 but I really really hope that people are out there working together and doing the objective rather than standing in line for the jets like in BF2.
The worst part about it is that some didn’t even use it properly, they just used it as transportation.

I’m trying to decided which console to purchase this for and I have to say, after playing both versions extensively, I really think it is mostly a matter of preference (though I am leaning towards the PS3 version). Its kind of a similar situation to Dead Island…the PS3 has more impressive environmental effects (lighting, shadows, etc) but more screen tearing. The Xbox version seems to sport slightly brighter colors, which isn’t really a plus or a minus. It really just depends on what your preferences are as a player. The graphical parity between the two console versions is actually quite close, though I will say that the PS3 had noticeably better lighting in outdoor areas, but also noticeably more screen tearing in indoor areas then the Xbox 360 beta. I almost wish i could buy the multiplayer mode for Xbox 360 (all of my friends have 360, not one has a PS3 other than me) and get the campaign mode for PS3 (as I feel this may end up being the definitive console version). Right now, I’m a bit torn (again, leaning PS3) and may have to wait to see what happens with this game as it progresses towards its retail release (this is only a beta, after all).

Missed better lighting ? nah, the comparison Show “the one on tube”, seems like ps3 is missing something atleast from the beta” .. They surely will improve gfx, lighting bugs etc etc but anyway according to this seems like the beta doesnt equals final at all, which makes me very happy indeed! you cant go wrong with either version if they fix all this

i personally think the ps3 lighting on tube is better, more subtle, whereas 360 is veery in ur face. It tends to be that more subtle is technically more correct tbh in most cases, as its easier to to add light in a non subtle manner than make its correct according to physics.
theres too many instances on 360 shots where the lighting isnt right, its there, but doesnt look like its dynamic in any way, just baked on.
I may end up getting this on 360 in end, as i need some people to clan up with, and EG has good Bc2 clans, so might be way forward, Dont wanna end up playing with randoms who dont talk

There’s better lighting on ps3, no doubt about that.
I see texture differences at different points in game on each format, which makes me wonder about whether, there are some instances of texture loading going on in some images. If not, theres instances where i can point out ps3 looking sharper pic 6 on p1, whilst others look sharper on 360 p2 pic 1, the steps look to have better texture.

PS3 version has better anti-aliasing(first page,last pic)and better textures too!In some pics 360 lighting looks better in some not.
Both versions have tear as i see… and just for you people to know,even PC has tearing some times.not as much as the consoles but there is some.(On Ultra 1080p…no frame drops)
wouldnt say ps3 has better aa tbh, just both have different aa, and each is better in different areas, mlaa typically struggles with flat long thin lines, and ends up with artifacting and shimmering in those circumstances, whilst fxaa (if this is what 360 is using) slightly blurs edges if too heavy(like a better version of qaa, which is why some textures look better on 360 i think.

Supposed to say fxaa blurs edges bit( less badly than quincunx aa) and this is why some textures look worse on 360 whilst sometimes jaggies look worse on ps3 where the mlaa has failed to recognize edges .
I checked out both the PC version running on ultra and the PS3 version. Cancelled my PC-pre-order and decided on PS3 only.
PC looks way better but without v-sync engaged (which is off by default on any quality-pre-set) it tears just as bad as the PS3 version.
I usually can’t stand screen-tearing but I was genuinely surprised at the actual percentage. It feels way less in game and didn’t bother me at all.
It looks great and is a blast to play, a really fun shooter. Lookin’ forward to launch day.

its a steep learning curve, and vastly different to bc2, with quicker style of play, and much higher damage ratio, but when you get used to navgating map, and the style of play(plus it helps to have few unlocks ,a lot imo)and you start kicking ass. Shame so many idiots ignore objects and watch ppl blow up your mcoms as they only interested in k/d ratio’s

BFBC2 uses a totally different engine than this game so you can’t use it to compare it to this game. Second this is a beta. There was this one game named crysis 2 whose beta was far scaled back compared to the release which was only 4 weeks away. It seems to me that this is the same case.
main thing to take into consideration is that this code is reportedly about month+ old and closer to the alpha code than release code(still not finished reportedly), so im not taking this “beta” as an indicator of final product.
I know it’s a different engine. What’s your point? I just commented about what I saw. You reinforcing that it’s a different engine only strengthens my point as to why you may see the alpha channel artifact now in the ps3 version while you saw it on the 360 in the old engine on BC2. Obviously with a new engine chances are it will yield new effects and compromises in the two consoles assuming DICE did a complete overhaul of the engine.

you dont have to agree with me, facts will speak for themselves eventually. Ultimately, i got nothing to lose either way. what will influence my decision more in all honesty is, who I will be playing with. im gonna try getting a ps3 clan together on EG, but the thing is, there’s just more 360 players on there, and I know that they play a lot, so it’s guaranteed team mates. So even if 360 is inferior, ill probably buy it on 360, which is bummer for me, as i dont like 360 control as much, but it’s obvious choice , as my mates dont play this game on 360 or ps3(all cod-ites unfortunately)

1. 360- A sharper, cleaner looking image with better contrast with acceptable lighting; better performance.

Yawn , good old washed out image argument eh? It’s amazing that gets recycled time after time, when it’s a fact( see DF article I posted earlier) that 360 simply has higher gamma setting as default( lot don’t alter settings , as they take image directly , rather than off tv).
As for your clearer image , really??? I can find half dozen images off net and a good few in here which disagree with you, but then I can show you some that appear to back up your argument. It’s clear that there’s some texture loading differences as well as aa differences , which makes direct comparison awkward.
The original images shown by badassbob clearly highlight these aa differences and illustrate the general clarity superiority of ps3 version .( even some of these illustrate this )
These screen shots aren’t as good quality as ones badass posted.
I’ll happily wager that ps3 has clearer image overall .
