Welcome back for another exciting Head2Head! This week we’re excited to take a closer look at the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 demo versions of Capcom’s Asura’s Wrath. The full game will be released on February 21st. Get a peek at how these two versions are shaping up after the jump.

A tie.
The same on both consoles. Whoever ported this game must be very talented.
Now some developers decide to pretend like they’re still in 2006-07 (thinking of Bethesda).
I’m afraid you have spoken too soon. A comparison from another site has highlighted several differences between the two version, all in favor of the Xbox 360 version. Motion blur is pared down in the PS3 version, and in various occasions, there are even missing shaders. Now, perhaps the graphical differences might not be too obvious at first glance, but the performance differences definitely are. While both versions have screen-tears throughout the whole demo (justspaztik won’t be picking up either of them), the PS3 version simply has a lot more, and with a lovely bonus, too: fluctuating frame rate (bundled with unappealing judders.) Simply disgusting! It’s already 2012 and yet we’re still seeing these shoddy results. Hell, these guys are even lazy enough to use the same highly compressed pre-rendered footages (filled with macroblocking artifacts) for both version, instead of utilizing the extra storage space of the Blu-ray Disc for the PS3 version. Unbelievable… CyberConnect2 definitely is going straight to my black list.
But hey, at least the game isn’t anything special. Those who have already played the demo should know, the gameplay is a joke. I might rent this game to check out story (as that seems to be the only thing that interests me) but really, unless the demo is doing an utterly horrible job at representing the final game, you won’t ever see me picking this game up.
Voted tie, I can spot a few differences here and there but nothing that would make either version better than the other.

Great! Now let’s bring out one for Final Fantasy XIII-2, too. Also, I would like to see a Head2Head for Choplifter HD. By the way, I know I requested a Head2Head for Amy a while back, but you guys can forget about it now that I’ve found out how much of joke that game is.

I’m just hoping the ps3 puts up a bit of a fight this year lol.
So far PS3 is not putting up much of a fight. But then you can’t get xbox corvette performance from a pinto ps3.

LOL Epic victory yeah ok. Its programmed on Unreal Engine is it any suprise it favors Xbox. Has anyone even played this game it is shocking beyond belive. I dont think anyone outside of japan will buy this trash anyway.

Based on screen shots not much in it but based on the Japanese site Bloodios linked it’s a pretty shoddy port on the PS3.
Where is Trine 2 Demo comparison? It’s the best looking game ever.
So I’m guessing the KOF and Rayman H2H aren’t coming? I could understand if they weren’t but it sucks not having a definite answer.
It looks better on xbox,good news for the 3 guys that are going to buy this game on 360;because obviously xbox users aren`t the target of this kind of games : /
ps3 has some badass tearing
pretty close to a tie if it wasn’t for the screen tearing in the 3rd picture (PS3).
The initial screens seem to favour the 360 ever so slightly, with some juicy screen tearing on PS3 and the 360 a tiny bit more detailed. Later down the track, I see better, more realistic lighting from the PS3 version and the opposite with more detail in the last few PS3 shots. Shot #3 on the 2nd pge shows a crisper, slightly more detailed look on the PS3. On most shots I see more pronounced blacks on the 360, but the same for PS3 on some others. A close call and has to be considered a tie. Wake up Android & Buying1999. Do you both have any idea how idiotic you seem on here?

It’s already began………..I have noticed a lot more ppl on here gunning for the PS3 lately. This site used to be saturated with Xbots getting thier ego fix and looking for delusion justification.
Do see any difference what so ever. Tried teh demo, it sucked anyway. I’ll just go back to playing Uncharted 3 and the superior version of Battlefield 3 on my PS3
Capcom’s fault for forcing CC2 to use UE3, a shame as I was genuinely interested in the game. I love CC2 and would like to support them but even they can’t utilize UE3, which was written for 360 by Epic.
At least games on CC2′s proprietary engine run flawlessly on PS3 (and less so on 360).

Lol, all joking aside, I had the sloghtest inkling of hope that this one could turn out to a sleeper hit. A nonstop pure fun ride of pure action bliss. After playing the demo, my expectations couldn’t be lower for the final product. I’ll rent it. UE3??? Why couldn’t they just use the SSFIV or Ultimate MvC 3 Engines? Lazy asses.
It’s running on Unreal. A favourable advantage to 360 is likely.
Another win for PS3
I downloaded this on psn yesterday and was shocked when it said “powered by unreal technology”.
Either way, it looks like a tie. The game would most likely favour the xbox as its unreal engine, but i couldnt care less. I thought the game was absolute shit.
I heard people complaining about too many QTE’s, and i was like “it can’t be that bad”. I was wrong. the graphics are one of the worst i have seen this gen. looks like a launch game, and the camera is bad.
the demo didnt really show what else the game has to offer other than 2 average boss fights. it felt like a crappy blend of the EPIC dragonball z and the crappy naruto dragged it down.
I thought developers were well aware that the Unreal engine is like the older id tech engines; THEY ARE BUILT FOR CORRIDOR SHOOTERS.
Gears 3 looked fantastic, but some of the backgrounds in the large environments looked crap. it’s no Killzone or Halo engine at rendering large environments and backgrounds.
Based on this, it’s a tie. I played the demo on PS3 and it ran pretty well. If only the game was anything above average.

both version looks impressive, in my opinion both has its own advantage and disadvantage, In some screen shot ps3 looks sharper and in the other X360…
I played the Ps3 a few times over trust me that’s a contrast issue nothing more.The game looks awesome on Ps3.Also cyperconnect is the dev.
I initially thought this game would feel very familiar and God of War like until I played the demo. The thing is it’s not. The only similarities between the to are that the protagonists are hell bent on a revenge quest, and they all act as if their loin cloths are put on too tight. That and quick time events.
But where Asura differentiates itself is in its humour. It doesn’t take itself seriously, so very unlike God of War with a more serious and dark tone. The protagonist seems less an anti-hero than Kratos was. The writers seem to try to justify Asura’s actions and demeanor more than his western counterpart, whose sense of justice was pretty much askewed.
Asura has that typical flair of manga and anime excess in terms of over the top combat action sequence and incongruous dialogue. It’s really hard to try not to laugh. It’s awesome! The scenes in this game reminds me a bit of Kung Fu Hustle. Hilarious!
Based on the demo, gameplay has a different pacing and feel compared to that of God of War. I would go on far to say that combat has that rhythm and feel of Okami.
General impression is that i’m intrigued and it’s different. Shinto/bhuddist spaceships anyone?
page 2 rollover 1 could be wrong but it looks like the 360s tessellator comes out to play ,either that or it is purely lighing
