*To ensure color accuracy from the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U output, the PlayStation 3 has RGB Full Range set to "Full" and Super White "On", and the Xbox 360 has Reference Level set to "Expanded" and HDMI Color Space set to "RGB". Our capture card we have captured segments from the AVS HD 709 . Blu-ray, HD DVD, & MP4 Calibration suite.
As you will see, each system matches each other at the SOURCE LEVEL. No contrast or gamma settings are manipulated before or after capturing our images/videos. We strongly believe that these types of corrections are done on a individuals preference and should not be adjusted by us. Finally, washed out looking images that are due to contrast or gamma differences will not have any influence on our final verdicts. Please Read through our F.A.Q page if you have any questions or concerns.*

Another one of those “dramatically better” looking Wwii U third party games I spose….Reggie never lies!
Seriously!? I am no Nintendo fanboy, but come on guys! The images are the exact same, textures, lighting, everything, the only difference being the brightness, as the Wii U uses a limited RGB (for now), vs a Full RGB setting. Digital Foundry, took this into account and I would expect that LOT would at least use the same level of honesty and know-how here. For me, this is more proof that LOT is in-fact a mouth piece for Microsoft.
See this – http://imgr.us/images/ye8cvboy6vlrztl986h.jpg – color corrected, accounting for the limited RGB setting on the Wii U. So, which is which? Exactly.
I fully expect the 14 year old Xbox apologists on this site to vote this down….
You must be blind. the Wii u is far behind the 360/ps3 and those 2 look like ass compared to PC. The fact that this ‘next gen’ cant even handle simple ports of almost 10 year old hardware is amazing.
this next gen for consoles is off to a horrid start
I sure hope this port’s performance isn’t as rubbish as the other lazy ports. The Wii U has way too many dung-poor ports shoved down its throat at the moment that it seems almost too painfully reminiscent of the PS3′s early days.
I wonder how well Bayonetta 2 ’s performance is going to be…
Bayonetta should be fine, as they are building game from ground up on wiiu ( I presume, unless they already had game running on other hardware), and even if not, it’s being funded by Nintendo partially, so should get time and funding to optimise for hardware, something that other games haven’t had
It’s published by Nintendo and Platinum have prior experience on Wii’s structure (Mad World). Platinum are definitely in the upper echelon of game devs so I wouldn’t worry about anything. 720p@60fps is a given.
Failure comparison ……the image are exactly the same . only except. for brightness level.
the problem here is that the hdmi cable for the wii u has only limited rgb and not full rgb and this is the only differrence here in thoses pics are the gamma setting that will be fix by a firware update for the hdmi to obtain rgb complete for the hardware and thoses washout pics will be solve
hahahaha again and as always xfa@$ots attack this website and blindly press on any button that has a xbox label on it. Fu*$ing f*@^ots !!!
360 wins
Very bad Comparison!! The Wii U doesnt support RGB Full Range at this time. Nintendo should bring a new firmware. So you must adjust your tv and then you can compare it. Another sites do this and black ops2 looks to 100% identical to the 360 version. Only performance was not so good.. Why this mistake??? Here by Lens Of Truth?? Im not a nintendo fanboy.
Lens of Truth capture images directly from the system though, not from the TV. And sure, they can adjust the gamma (via image editors) to make it seems identical to the other versions, but why does it matter? Remember that there are displays out there that do not cope well with Limited Range RGB, and this is exactly what is going to show up on those (brightness can be manually adjusted, yes, but this will give people an idea of what to expect.) Last but not least, let’s not forget Lens of Truth’s “out-of-the-box” policy.
Limited range will always be limited. There is no way to overcome it by tuning your TV except for in certain situations.
The Wii U sets it’s black levels at 5 instead of 0 and it’s white levels at 235 instead of 255 (compared to full range). Sure, if the original content doesn’t contain anything below 5 and above 235 then there won’t be a noticeable difference if you tune your TV accordingly. If however it does, then you’ll notice black crush and white crush as well (basically everything below 5 and above 235 looks the same). The 360 already has a weird gamma/contrast level that introduces black crush so I’m really not surprised to hear that BO 2 looks similar on it and the Wii U. You should use the PS3 as a basis, as it doesn’t manipulate gamma/contrast in the way the Xbox 360 does.
If the Wii U will not support full range RGB in the future I’ll be very disappointed. This is such a basic feature that should not be missing in the year 2012.
Missing textures and details on the Wiiu version
Now performance will be the deciding factor and as always both PS3 and wiiu gets Owned by 360
I had hope this wiiu version would look and perform exactly to ps3 or better due to some similarities to the 360 hardware.
360>PS3>WiiU
at least PS3 owners should be happy: a secon place and a wiiu partner to share defeat is not that bad.
What could be a pain for PS3 is the fact that being 360 and wiiu like “cousins” in terms of hardware similarities could mean the rest of its life cycle receiving ports from one or another
Srry, it goes PC>Ps3>xbox>Wii u
The 360 and PS3 versions were identical you toolbags.
No they are not. PS3 JUST edges this one out. A first the Assassins Creed games.
I’m with you CERNAML, they’re freaking identical. Only difference is the extra dlc for ps3, which for my money makes it the best version.
Wii U = Pee U That stinks!
Wii U version sucks!
Thank you Lens of Truth. I was going to by a Wii U, but I didn’t and now I’m glad I didn’t.
PS3 fanboys, remember to bow down to your PS3 and say you prayers to it 5 times a day and sing songs to it since you worship it as your Lord and Savior.
Quite a huge ruckus just to divert others’ attention away from your own blatant worshiping of the Xbox 360. Your suggestions also seem fairly specific, as though you were basing it off your actually experience…
*Sigh* Sometimes, I wonder why isn’t there an EDIT feature anymore? As if typing out a comment on the iPhone isn’t frustrating enough…
I don’t worship the PS3 I have, but I do try to play at least one game of MLB 12 The Show on it a day. You know that MLB game that completely dwarfs the competition’s fun house version of major league baseball ?

Read and look! RGB Full Image is clearer on the Wii U..
Ps3 looks better than both.
WiiU version looks better than any.
PS3 version takes the lead, followed very closely by 360, and WiiU not too far behind that.
Really, the most drastic difference between the three versions (apart from the gamma) is the lighting, which appears to be largely the same on 360 and WiiU, but the PS3 does lighting the best, as the lights across the characters faces and on the rafters on the ceiling look much better.
However, the PS3 version seems to be missing the transparency on the back windows of the van, which is strange, but it’s the only part of the game where it’s visible.
Texture detail is essentially identical across all version.
The only factor that would place the WiiU ahead of far behind in quality will be the performance. Looking forward to an analysis.
Wow, the Wii U mops the floor with the PS3!!!
Did I do that right?
lol. stop trolling!!!!
Character models in Assassin’s Creed 3 look fine, but the game looks ugly otherwise. Go into the Frontier and just look at the trees. At first it looks amazing, but take a closer look. Walk up to the trees if you have to.
This is 2012. Why is every single plant and tree so flat? Ugly texture, etc. This is one of those things that once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Running through the forest or wherever and all the foliage looks paper thin even from 100 feet away. So many jaggies everywhere else.
The game sucks. Avoid it Wii U owners. Even if this game had 60fps, avoid it like the plague. Awful game.
Mostly seems to be the same on all 3 so why isn’t there a tie option like there always was for the 360/PS3 head to heads?
Plus why are all pics taken from the start of the game, surely showing us a few from a viewpoint or a NPC heavy street would make for a better comparison than from what was basically a forced scene without any serious draw distance.
sooo… in the end Wii U is just on par with the to other consoles. Xbox and ps3 are identical, and wii U is too. Nobody wins… except pc users of course – but they always do.
Nah Humleren it’s twice as powerful as a 360 and one and a half times more powerful than a ps3,The problems are just teething problems at the moment,i say this because of framerate situations on most ports that we seen so far’for the wii u’But saying that im not sure how assassins creed 3 run on the U’but games like Batman’BO2′suffer a bit,Hear’s the reason developers are haveing a problem”the wii u is not a CPU Based console’Yes it has a CPU tricore thingy in it’and it is undrepowered compaierd to the ps3 and 360′But!it is a GPU Based console Meaning instead of makeing games from the CPU’S up”You have to do it the other way round and Make the GPU Do most of the hard work then use the CPU’S Then you will see the wii u shine through’Also it has way more memory than the 360 and ps3 meaning the CPU’S After the GPU Has been maxed out or close to it get an easy ride”The WII U is a mighty little gameing console”And when zelda comes out for it im sure everyone is gonna want one as will i;}Also assassins looks the same to me as the ps3 and 360 except it looks brighter’Nothing we cant sort out with a TV Remote
I meant this game performs identical across all three platforms. I must say i haven’t really bothered to study the Wii U, since it’s not really my kind of thing, and i don’t think i will ever buy one. I’m pretty convinced that the Wii U can do better graphically than the ps3 and xbox, but so can a 300 euro laptop… he he …
It’s ridiculous how many people bash the Wii and Wii U just because they have a 360 or a PS3. Nintendo is why home consoles reached a new plateau back in the mid 80′s with the NES and the SNES was an awesome system for it’s time. You little spoiled assholes should be paying homage to Nintendo instead of flaming it blindly.
Nintendo is capable of making a more powerful console, but I believe their angle is to keep the price on their consoles low. The Wii U is not a bad console and the controller is a tablet. That’s innovative.
I don’t have any Nintendo consoles. I wanted to make that clear before you guys unleash your rabid textual attacks on me. I know a lot of thoughtless people would base their assault around that.
OK, fire away, fa#$ots.
I’d just say that the Wii U is now what the PS360 was supposed to be from start.
And sorry for spoiling your dreams, but the “new plateau” has been reached with the success of the glorious Playstation. That has been the console that introduced video games in every home.
PS3 > x360 > wiiU
