We knew this one was coming but now it’s official…
Sony has announced today they will be releasing Gran Turismo 5 XL on January 17th. GT5: XL will include the original game as well as all the new features added by the recently released Spec 2.0 update. As a bonus, GT5: XL Edition will also include a voucher for over $20 worth of DLC. A few of the DLC you can spend your voucher on are Course Pack, Racing Gear Pack, and Paint Pack.

What an incredible value for the greatest and best selling car simulator out there.
Might as well slap a six on the cover of that box as these updates include more content and features than certain other “sequels”. lol
Forza 4 is far better than gt5. Now this “update” as a full game??? LOL! GT5 car´s sound is awful! The multiplayer is pathetic and the damage is horrible.
Some people in this site must spend more time playing than using the keyboard in this site.

The Forza series is no match against the king of racing simulators, little lad.
It doesn’t matter how much the media desperately attempts to downplay it, it still manages to move over 7 million copies. Something that that other copy cat can only dream of doing.
Maybe if Turn 10 stopped playing it so safe and actually decided to be ambitious for once, we wouldn’t see the same game but with less content and a different number slapped on the box.

Go play some FIA GT RACING, iRace or Race Pro and you will see what is a REAL RACING SIMULATOR. But we are here to discuss about GT VS FORZA. And the world and the metacritic agree with me. Everybody knows that this site is full of sony fanboys like you, and you can create 200 accounts to thumb me down and thumb you up. You aren´t a real gamer… you are a FORUM PLAYER.
Im a REAL GAMER AND A RACE CAR LOVER, Maybe next gen gran turismo can again be the best, and I will love it, because im a gamer and play the best version of a game not the only that have sony or microsoft flag.
Hey guess what, I too own two Forza games, a nice PC that can play all those simulators out there (currently trying to get my hands on that sweet looking Project CARS) and a Logitech G27 racing wheel. No need to bring PC simulators in here. Like you said, this is about GT vs Forza and with that, Gran Turismo is still the king.
The huge fanbase who voted with their wallets even with such a beating from the media agree with me. 
What other console simulator can turn a simulator enthusiast into a real race car driver? What other developer has their very own racing team who are able to win 24hr endurance races in their class? What other racing game made such a massive impact in the racing industry? Definitely not Forza. lol
Hopefully the next gen Forza will finally have the features that have been in Gran Turismo since the PS1 days and shifting animations that aren’t half assed and completely ruin the look of all the in car dashboards views.

I have a 750 horsepower 03 Cobra and a 455 horsepower 99 GT mustang. I also have an all original very rare 1991 Canadian Cobra that i recently fully restored. Now, What do you drive again?

I drive a REAL car man (2011 hyundai veloster)… not my imagination as you. anyway, when you play forza 4 you can talk to me. I saw your gamertag and you NEVER played forza 4…
LOL! That’s a real car right there man! Hyundia Veloster LMAO! I played Forza 3 right too the end, Then i played the Forza 4 demo and it was the same game.. Nothing changed. How is what i own Imaginary? The first two are very affordable cars while the third one is a lot harder to come by and i just so happened to get it by chance because the guy didn’t know what he had. I really can’t believe you came in here acting like you were some big shot then tell everybody that you drive a hyundai veloster? That’s just sad man..

GT5 isn’t fail. I still believe it is the best racing sim/racing game out there.
Although, being an american muscle car fanatic, (mainly mustangs/fairlanes) i do agree with some of the sounds.
I thought Forza 3 was the high point of the series. forza 2 had same graphics as number 1 pretty much.
Forza 4 was still pretty good, but i expected more. Day/night, weather effects etc.
Im suprised they didnt look at gt5 and take note. instead, they just added a little onto forza 4.
GT5 still king IMO, followed by forza 3 > 4. (4 is technically better, but i had more fun with 3, it felt so fresh, it was the first great racing console sim this gen)
i used to love gran turismo (GT2 is still one of my fav racing games of all time) but its lame, now..Forza FTW
I love the sense of speed Forza offers. Always feels like a rush when racing. But I’m after the cars so I go to GT5. Forza just has fewer cars, and I wanna see many of em lol!
I already have GT5 with the latest patch. Does it worth it to buy this, or pay for the DLC ?
Just buy this and you won’t have to worry about DL’ing all of the DLC just trade in your copy of GT5 a few days before hand and pick this up.
Forza 4 laughs at this game, actually Forza 3 does too lol.

Ah yes, a consistent high score of 90s across the board. A shame the series only sees a decline in sales unless being heavily bundled. lol
@DaPlayera, I drive cars, and I’m 100% certain they don’t feature rewind buttons. lol
rewind buttons is a option which you can turn off in fm4, its made for beginners
and btw sales arent making a game good
DAPLAYERA we already had this discussion once before and i confirmed that you are nothing more then a rice with your Acura Type R which is nothing more then a glorified Acura Integra. You’re right the cars in Gran Turismo don’t sound very realistic but it’s not the sound i care about, It’s the way the cars handle and Gran Turismo takes the win here.
the sounds on GT5 are close enough. I own an STi Subaru WRX 2004. When I race with the car in GT5, it sounds very close with stock exhaust. Mine hs a cat-back in real life and the burble is a bit more pronounced. good car to compare as the Scooby burble is unique due to its un-even headers, characteristic of the turbo boxer engine.
@ Android, Gran Turismo 1 laughs at the whole Forza series combined. Stop being a little fanboy and crawl back to your little cave.
4 games and yet the Forza series still lacks half the features that have been in the Gran Turismo series since GT2. lol
Does their engine lack the sophistication to run night races? Let alone any sort of dynamic racing. lol
Are Turn 10 afraid to get their hands dirty in Rally racing or even Formula 1? lol
They can boast all they want, the Forza series will never reach the same level of critical (95 meta for GT3) or commercial (nearly 15million sold for GT3) success as the GT series.
They can forget about making any sort of impact in the racing industry. How many Forza players got a chance to become a real race car driver by playing that game? lol

HAHAHAHA GT1 was so epic. My favourite cars were the corvette (damn, that was fast for some reason) and the dodge viper.
Some of the tests were down right annoying,(touch the grass and you lose AAAAARGGGHHH!!).
GT5 hasn’t even reached the mid 80′s on metacritic lol. That’s how highly it’s rated
Even a year after release they keep releasing addons for it to try to compete with the higher rated forza lol.
I really hope we don’t start to see that from turn 10 because unlike Gt5, the game doesn’t need constant tinkering or fixing
They keep making add-ons for GT5 to keep the experience fresh, and I can’t think of any developer that constantly supports a game like this. As far as GT5 vs Forza is concerned, they both have thier strengths and weaknesses and for the full experience, you need both. If I wanna get all technical, obsess about settings and cars, and try for the “Realism” then GT5. If I just wanna quick blat around a track with minimum hassle, then Forza. Whatever……..
…..and If I remember correctly……it’s what mechanics and car enthusiests like to do……tinker.

I love forza 4 its great . I love most car games that are done well.( I am a petrol head). I own both games,with a Logitech g25 wheel and gt5 there is no comparison for realism . Gt5 wins hands down !

Now now that’s going just a bit too far. Shift is trash just like Slightly Mad Studios’ talk toward GT and Forza. EA can keep Porsche. Doesn’t help their games be any good anyway.
Notice the lack of trash talk from Turn10 before the release of Forza4? They didn’t want it to come bite them in the ass again. Lol Hopefully EA will learn some day. But considering they took the Porsche license away from Turn 10, I highly doubt it. Lol

Gt5 wins hands down ! my link was to a video of the Nürburgring a real BMW m3 vs gt5 . The video had the same driver for both the game and real life car . The realism was astonishing.
The definitive racing sim gets even better with this new relase. This is a real driving game. Not unlike that forza crap that is nothing more than a dumbed down racer in order to appeal to the average xbot whose average mental age is of a five year old
