From GTPlanet – “as can be seen in the online “My Lounge” options for an online race, a new “Mechanical Damage” setting is available for the event with three settings, as described by the scrolling information bar on the bottom of the screen:”
- “None” – No mechanical damage.
- “Light” – Mechanical parts can be damaged, but will “automatically be repaired after a short time has passed.”
- “Heavy” – Mechanical damage will be more severe, and can only be repaired by making a pit stop. Damaged parts will be indicated with on-screen icons.
There you have it. When more news on the update becomes availabe we’ll let you know.

Good update that grow up the simulation experience. But, any news about an hypotetic update managed to fix this jaggy and ugly shadows… -_-’ This unacceptable issue badly affect the graphic experience of GT5 !
I am not fanboy, but Forza Motorsport 2(3) does this better:
-no damage-
-only visual
-full damage
I dont get a point of Light damage, what is it good for?
He does it better, what is better in your example ? oO? We speak here about mechanicals damages that can affect the engine and others keys elements of the car and make his driving more complicated. With this update, GT5 manage now all type of damages, visual and mechanical.
Where Forza is better ?
Forza 3 does has mechanical damage, if u crash the car a lot the car barely moves.
Ok, like GT5 !
The question remain the same, where Forza is better ? …
LOL, already getting updates for a game that has been in development for 5 years ROFL. PS3HDWii, it only does updates.
