First Look
In this First Look we bring you the first fifteen minutes of the Resistance 3 Campaign Demo. The demo was released June 14 inside of the Battle: Los Angeles Blu Ray. The demo takes place exclusively on a boat eerily similar to the Orca, from the movie Jaws. Not to worry, although on a boat, the demo introduces a good number of weapons and enemy types to use them on. Resistance 3 will be released on September 6 of this year in North America. Man, I agree. Runs a little better than PS2 game but seeing a game like this released in 2011 is a little comical considering what else is being done with the same hardware. Almost like a remastered PS2 game…like God of War 1 and 2. Ha. Agreeing with Reptile here, not the hooded cartoon wizard kid.

This is pretty badass, and this is just the Alpha code demo from last year. The full game is going to look much more polished, and be the best looking FPS on console this year, provided it beats Killzone 3, of course. Based on what was shown to us at E3, it probably will.
Why does everyone have to defend they’re favorite games?

surely the answer is found in the mischievous and immature post that clearly has no resemblance to fact about it looking like a ps2 game? or the i’ll be playing a real shooter comment?clearly it doesnt look like a ps2 game, and clearly its quite a nice looking game, whilst not looking the best looking fps game this year either.

Fair enough, but like I said. Why not just ignore those comments? If you know they’re so immature why respond to it? It’s just a waste of time ain’t it? Or is there some sort of feeling superior by responding to it?

u missed my point, their probably is on some deeper subconscious level, some sort of feeling of superiority in your statement and mine too, but why do people choose to pot any statement on these forums or others?
Human beings have an inherent part of their psyche that wants to be the centre of world, the voice thats heard, etc etc, and we all post our opinions on subjects as we value them above all others, as they are our own and most important to us.

and anyways suarez is right the xbots started this one. But hey this is pre alpha and they have had a LOT more time to polish this. Speculation really gets annoying. Can’t we wait for a final release? BF3 speculation is also getting annoying especially since it was pre alpha as well
Where’s the fun in ignoring them? I’m just playing along. Fun in fanboyism, right? I have to say one negative remark this entire about Microsoft or the 360 (no, making fun of Halo doesn’t count). I think people are looking too deep into fanboy comments and interpreting it as serious aggression. I could care less what these Xbots think. They’re just butthurt to see another great game that isn’t on their console. Regardless, I will be buying this game come September, and will be enjoying the hell out of it, along with Space Marine and Gears 3.

The game looks sick, but it comes out around the same time as the new Deus Ex game, so I think I may have to pass on a first day buy. It all depends on the thickness of my paycheck.

Just watched this again, and it’s pretty darn nice, with a very atmospheric feel to it. I am mildly impressed by it, with what looks like a slower paced , more intense style to campaign. Will keep eye on this and await the reviews before deciding if it’s a day one or not.
This is an old build hence the crap frame rate, The final release should hopefully be much smoother and I’m looking forward to this game. Should be a hectic action packed experience like the previous games.
I read ages ago somewhere on Insomoniac’s website that they won’t offload GPU work unto the Cell’s SPUs, to allow them more flexibility with their gameplay was their rationale I believe. And it kinda shows.
This strikes me as to why Insomniac stands out as a PS3 developer. Their approach to PS3 development is very different, albeit orthodox, when you compare it with the common practice led by other PS 1st party devs.
It would be interesting to read that article , as I can’t see what advantage they would gain from doing so, as ps3 was designed by Sony with the explicit purpose of offloading work onto spu’s, and originally hadn’t intended to have a gpu at all .
I’m going to exercise resistance by not playing this, and it won’t be hard. I doubt the final product is going to look more amazing than the demo. All of the Resistance games use old school on the tracks mechanics that make it feel…well, mechanical and lacking intensity. Too many shooters are getting released this year, gotta focus on the high quality ones. I love me some FPS but not enough to geek on everything that comes out. Mark my words…price cut a month after release or sooner

I thought that Portal 2 was awesome! I wouldn’t call that a first person shooter, more of a first-person puzzle game.
Also.. You don’t HAVE to buy every single first-person game that comes out.

More interested in the campaign in this game than the mp , but have to agree it’s looking very very nice graphically . Wasn’t expecting that much from the game graphically , although I have a lot of respect for insomniac( ratchet and clank is awesome), and they clearly know ps3 hardware very well. Looks like they’ve stepped up their game with this one.
That’s quite impressive, loving all the weather effects.
All the people on this thread saying it looks bad keep forgetting that this demo is an old pre-alpha build that was used at the VGA’s in November of last year. Since then, Insomniac had much more time to polish the game, and the tech demos, as well as floor models, really reflected that at this years E3.
Im getting this, never knew people disliked this series. The way you utilized the weapons is key in this game.
