Blizzard has announced the official release date for Diablo 3. The game will be available via Battle.net, and in retail stores for PC and Mac on May 15th in both the United States and Europe.
Diablo 3 will be shipping in a regular edition for $59.99, and a Collector’s Edition which includes an art book, soundtrack CD, documentary DVD, and soulstone USB key containing Diablo II and its expansion for $99.99. Below is a quote from Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime.
“After many years of hard work by our development team and months of beta testing by hundreds of thousands of dedicated players around the world, we’re now in the homestretch,” Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime said in the announcement. “We look forward to putting the final polish on Diablo III over the next two months and delivering the ultimate action-RPG experience to gamers worldwide starting on May 15.”

“the ultimate action-RPG experience”? Sorry Blizzard, too late. That’s Demon’s & Dark Souls already, baby!
What about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and V: Skyrim, hm?
What about them, assassin.
If I wanted a bug-ridden, open world game Id play something by obsidian. they have better writing, better choices and overall better game play.
Well, Ill play them while their still around. Stupid bethesda
Skyrim? And where the “action” would be? To kill a dragon is just a matter of button smashing. Not to mention the thousands bugs indeed. Skyrim is lovely for exploration and some story telling. In D* Souls games one actually fights. As some people say in D* Souls each enemy is a boss!
You want a challenge greater than Demon’s & Dark Souls then play Diablo 2 Hardcore mode and see what a challenge really is. Try getting a character to max level just to die by some douchebag, or lag and have to start all over because, once a hardcore character is killed it can’t be played anymore.
Permafrost, i’ve put my hands on a copy of Diablo II. Is that a joke? Where is the fun in that? One moves a square big character, fighting little minions smashing the mouse left click button. At least at the beginning. With the most retarded graphics ever. Even FF IX looks better. And 1 year after that crap FF X was ready for the PS2. Are you guys serious? Diablo really is the most overrated franchise ever. Diablo III doesn’t look much better either for a 2012 game. And no, FMVs do not count. Still FF wins full hand with them.
You are comparing apples to oranges. From the person that argued about God of War being the “King of Hack ‘n Slash” you are calling Diablo boring and overrated. Apparently you have no clue how to have fun with friends while doing Pindle, Mephisto, or Bhaal runs.
I am comparing the graphics, that thing the PC boys are so proud about. Diablo franchise graphics plain sucks. If you wanna talk about gameplay D* Souls games are lights years ahead of Diablo. I don’t care if a game is made artificially hard, I care about the controls. D* Souls ones are perfect, Diablo II is a click smashing.
Actually Diablo is exactly what shows the difference in culture between PC and consoles games. We love great games, with good gamepad controls, hopefully third person view, you guys love the things made to fit the ugly mouse & keyboard. As an example see how screw up the Skyrim controls and the fighting generally speaking are. I don’t really see how you can define Diablo a good hack ‘ slash game, when you just click the mouse!!
Then hell to isometric views. Very PC-esque. No, thank you.
Oh look. A game thats been in devolpment for over 6 years with a release date of “When we feel its done” is shipping missing core features (that even blizzard themselves say are core features) to make a deadline.
A couple of questions come to mind.
What has become of blizzard? Am I the only one who remembered them as they use to be?
Since when has it become acceptable to “patch in features that we admit ourselves should be in the game at launch”
Why should I shell out 60 dollars (10 more than is required of all PC games, because we all know that there is no console tax on PC games) for a game that isnt even fully done yet. None of you would buy a car for full price with the back seat missing and a promise from the dealer that they will give it to you at a later date, so why should I have to buy a full priced game with out all the content. I mean, come on. Theres a in game real money AH that blizzard will be making tons of cash on (they openly admit they will get a small 3-5% of the cash per transaction). That may not seem like a lot, but lets pretend half the people who bought Diablo 2 buys this and even half that use the AH regularly. Thats 4.5 million people using a real cash AH.
Why should I buy a game that blizzard themselves are saying “lower your expectations” for. (this quote was taken last month)
Along with the quote above, they where giving the full game out with a year purchase of WoW. blizzard has NEVER in their life given a free game out with anything. Ever. Starcraft 1 came out in 1997 and its still 30$. Starcraft 2 is 2 years old and its still 60$ Shouldnt this, combined with the the rest of the information ive noted, make me feel a bit worried about diablo?
We all know diablo will sell like hotcakes and will get 10/10, 5/5, 2 thumbs up reviews, no matter how bad or flawed it is. Want an example, go play SWTOR. But given all that, doesnt this just feel..wrong?
It’s because they are partnered with Activision, and since Activision is the publisher they have their marketing practices. Either way I will still purchase Diablo 3, I am a huge fan of the series and I know that the game will be great. I have been playing the beta and there is honestly nothing bad that I can say about it.
pfft! well lucky pc gamers because you guys dont have even one decent game on to play with your system. who even buys this gayblo3?!
while we, the playstation players, have uncharted! which stomps on everything on pc graphically…
oh yeah i almost forgot killzone 3
Your idiocy baffles me. It is close minded console gamers like you that give the rest a bad name.

Since a Gamecube game from almsost 9 years ago looks better than your uncharted thanks to the power PC, I dont think you have a leg to stand on.
I know im a PC master race kinda guy, but seriously man. Your stupid as hell. Why would you challange a PC on graphics when there are like… Well, we really dont have any weakness’s accept we have to wait for some games to come to us.
If it doesnt get a release, we will emulate it (as we have above) with greater controls, graphics, mods and overall performance. Enjoy buying your outdated tech at day 1 launch, tool
Why even bother linking those ugly ass gay nintendo game pics?? they came nowhere near uncharted…
All crysis (1 and 2) looks like shit even on pc compared to killzone 3
those xshit version were horrible and reviewers stated it is best looking console game… ahem…. KILLZONE 3 anybody?
killzone 3 even has MLAA. crysis uses what?! that crappy MSAA?? hahhah pathetic…
the ps3 would literally melt when it would try to run shogun 2 on max or civilization 5
lol never, Demon’s/Dark Souls are overrated garbage.
