Capcom has officially announced that Devil May Cry HD Collection is a reality. The much wanted HD Collection will be released in February 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Collection will include Devil May Cry 1, 2, and 3 all in HD and will cost $39.99.
This one has been rumored for quite some time now so it’s nice to finally get an official word from Capcom. Along with the announcement, Capcom has also released a few comparison screens between the originals, and the HD remakes. Check them out below.

Definitely a lot clearer but just like RE4 HD, the DMC HD collection won’t be getting any improved textures nor lighting. Still will buy since it’s one of my favorite franchises back in the PS2 era.
The RE4 collection isn’t even real HD. It’s an upscaled port of the 480p Wii version. That’s why it looks like crap. My understanding is this will be native 720p at least. I hope so, any way.
Looking good!!!
Looking very good!!!!
I don’t remember the textures being that blurry. Either way this is a definite buy for me since I lost all of my DMC games in my last move.
wow, i refuse to believe it ever looked that bad! lol.
loved that game. definite buy
My reaction to this!

I did expect more, but whatever, I’ll take what they give. I think $39.99 is a cheap price to pay in order to get all three of these great games (well, technically, I only consider two of them as “great”…)
In any case, this HD remaster collection should (at least) be running at the native resolution of 720p, having 4xMSAA implemented, and most important of all, frame rate should be locked at 60fps (meaning no drop in frame rate throughout the entire game), and of course, absolutely no screen-tearing.
Hmm, actually… regarding the AA solution, I think QAA might be okay for me in this as well, as I think it would actually ease the ugliness of those low-res textures, plus the blur could also bring back the nostalgic sensation I once felt while playing the original versions. Beside, QAA is, aside from the blur, pretty much as effective as 4xMSAA while being less demanding.
Not impressed at all
Someone should give crapcom a lesson about what an HD remake is
I agree, someone like Team ICO.
