The first screenshots of the newly announced Crysis “remastered” for the Xbox 360 have been released. Along with the screens, Crytek has also revealed the pricing of the game on both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. Our friends at Attack of the Fanboy have confirmed Crysis will cost gamers 1600 MS points or $20 on PSN when releases this October.
And this has us wondering about the price. Do you feel that $20 is too much, or is it just about the right price to charge for this one time graphics king? Let us know in the comments section.

$20?! I’ll gladly pay $20 for this! Are you kidding me?
LOL XBOTS PAYING FOR LIVE AND MORE FOR GAMES! LOL
How do you know he’s not buying it on PS3?
Damn, that’s some subtle trolling, Chad.
Chad, you look like you have dolphin teeth. Any guy asinine enough to use his actual face and full name here deserves at least one mild insult. You have been served fool.
It’s not him, Chad Warden is some guy who made some PS3 fanboy videos on youtube, presumably parodies.
Thanks AINSLEY. I figured I was taking a chance with that, oh well. This impostor is still a tool and I’ll stand by that!
In after a whole-lotta MAD. lol
picture quality is awful, but in video game play, to see that the graphics are beautiful especially if you hare the pc the crysis fanboys talking was impossible in an xbox 360 and ps3
look at the graphics are cool and even new effects were added to the game.

Yeah $20 sounds just about right for this. Of course I would like it to be less
but $20 is a pretty good deal. It looks really good too.
The screenshots look SWEET!!
Worst part about it is that it looks better than Crysis 2.
Yeah, it kinda shows.
Yeah I call shenanigans!
I am unsure exactly what they are doing with these shots, because they have upscaled them from some native res that i suspect may be below 720p. In other words they aren’t taken straight from the framebuffer after rendering, they are taken after someone has scaled them.
Generally i would say the original will look considerably better in 720P on a PC with pretty modest hardware, like a dual core and a 9600GT. I don’t think the shots look as good as Crysis on medium, although this is pretty much what i expected to see from console version of this title.
It’ll be great for anyone who never had the computer back in 2007 or just only have a console, however i feel that market has reduced considerably now that even an uber budget graphics card will run this well. 4 Years is a long time in PC hardware.
I think it should be less since this isn’t a physical copy of the game, around $15 would sound better than $20. Especially since this game is quite old. I will buy it either way though considering this game is amazing. Now the real question is, will this come with MP?
Tempting price, indeed. But I’ll wait the performance analysis before deciding whether or not I should purchase this game. Does anyone know when will it be released?
In any case, hopefully we’ll get to see some sort of demo to get a “taste” of what to expect of the final version.
Releases next month.
theyve had 6 months to optimise engine since crysis 2, so I expect it to perform better than crysis 2, which was the most unfinished game Ive ever played. It was just blatantly rushed out to meet an already delayed release date. (im guessing it took them a lot longer than planned to actually get cryengine 3 close to finished, along with the issues they had implementing global illumination system).
the issue I have with this game, is that its dlc only, so if it sucks, then no trade value.
It definitely looks better than crysis 2 imo, but like u said, performance will seal its fate for me.
I actually said id never buy another crytek game, as their support after release was non existent, despite it being borked. might have to stick with that vow,
Hmmm… I may get it (PS3 of course), but Crysis 2 was absolute garbage. This one is much more renowned, so I’ll probably give it a shot.
wouldnt say it was garbage, but it was certainly flawed and full of bugs and glitches. A horribly unfinished game, that potential to be great, but was rushed out, and their complete lack of support afterwards was disgusting.
unfinished for consoles.
not the pc!
Before the release of the DX11 patch, the PC version was pretty much unfinished, too (at least that’s how I see it.)
even without the patch, the game looked stunning.visuals and performace were perfect.no glitches ,no bugs.
one of the best graphics i ever seen until today.
(until battlefield comes out lol)
“PS3 of course” lol people dont give a $hit about your fanboyism lmao so who likes being on top you or your ps3?
We like to change it up every now and then.
Marine : Everything you say…..is just….. “sigh” just so stupid.
For all its technical issues, Crysis 2 was a really fun game. I enjoyed it more than Killzone 3.
Thought first 1/3 of crysis 2 was dog pooh tbh, but it got a lot beret after that, but the issues with ai etc didn’t help my enjoyment of game . Crysis 2 was kinda fun online once the fixed few issues( took them long enough), but kz3 was much better all round.
Gotta give kz3 the nod on both fronts IMO , but if crysis 2 sp wasn’t so dull in first 1/3 of game and they’d fixed issues, would have been a great game.
I wonder what the game’s native resolution will be.
Obviously not 1080p, as the images suggest…
1080×720 perhaps?
(I kid, I kid)
In fact, that’s really possible son
Yes, it’s possible, that is the 1080p mode resolution for many PS3 games.
I expect the final release to be 1280 x 720 or sub-hd like Crysis 2 was.
No major title which is technically punishing is 1080p on ps3, with exception of gt5, which isn’t even technically 1080p( number of verticle lines is 1280 not 1920)
No way on earth crysis will run anywhere near 1080p , especially when crysis 2 , which is far more linear, couldn’t handle even 720p.
also the more im thinking about it, the more i think that ps3 version will suffer again, as the sheer amount of alpha transparancy textures used for foliage , will cause issues bandwidth wise.
Never had a good enough PC so I’ll be happy to check this out for that price. Although the AI in crysis 2 was badly broken it often produced hilarious results, So I had fun playing it. Hope it’s better for this. Please God let it not tear :/
Hopefully it runs at the same res on PS3 and 360 this time! Although graphical differences of Crysis 2 weren’t that bad. Was a tie I think.
I never will pay for a digital download tnat costs more than if i bought the game physically and sold it afterwards. AKA should be $10-15
A lengthy, full-featured, AAA game for $20? It’s a steal!
lol’d quite hard here
Played it many years back in 720P fully maxout for that res… will gladly play it again on PS3 just to see the difference
It looks gorgeous!
Games. Games everywhere and so little money
This game costs around 9 Euros for PC, why the heck should I pay 20 for an absolutely inferior version?
Because console gaming is the bomb especially gaming on the Ps3. PC gaming is for rednecks.
Good grief….I am amazed your PS3 still works after all the baths you two have taken together.
They must use rubbers
@Solarburn
At least i take baths. Unlike you. You redneck do you even know what soap and water is? and not that water that your moonshine with. I can small you through my computer and i find it NASTY get a bath redneck.
PS3Fanboy likes taking it up the AS$ from his PS3. PC gaming is for rednecks bahahah sucks that rednecks have more money than you
Off topic, but isn’t this exactly what LoT was talking about last week when they mentioned several members basically denigrating to personal attacks?
I say word to what JUSTANOTHERNERD said. Where’s the ban list!? Off with their heads!
Because Mauro not everyone has a gaming PC and console only gamers who have only experienced Crysis 2 may want to try it out.
FYI I have Crysis 1 (& 2) on PC.
“Remasteted” no way it can look as good as PC.. demastered maybe. I’m still getting it but I can’t even think for a second it will look exact or even rebastered.. I tried to play it in my PC and it laughed at me and called me fat. I was able to play doom3 at max settings but not crysis .. that’s why PC gaming bugs me. I can play doom3 at max settings but not quake4? Same damn game and medium settings run better. But half-life 2 ran awesome as well. (You can tell how long its been since I PC gamed) lol
“I tried to play it in my PC and it laughed at me and called me fat.”
Instant 5 stars.
I would like to have the box version and pay £12 pounds or something…. but if its digital only then $20 (about 12 pounds) is pretty good pricing, esp as its had a re-work also.. What is the size though?… 4-5 gig?
>Xbox 360 screenshots
Yeah, I’m skeptical at best that this will be a decent PS3 port. Still, I really don’t care about the console versions, because I have this game on PC and it runs better at a higher resolution and higher settings. Still, Kudos to Crytek for getting such a game on consoles.
Well, I’ll wait and see just how it performs when stacked up to the PC version; I know the PC will probably look better, but the “visual enhancements” do catch my eye. Maybe if I can’t upgrade my PC in the next, er, 3 years…then I’ll probably cave and get this version. It certainly doesn’t look horrible.
Hmmmm… This game looks like it has the best graphics on consoles… THE winner of the crysis head to head will get the honor of having the BEST graphics on consoles and is then declared the most powerful console seen!
Will most likely be sub hd, so can’t say I agree.
Also , it’s as usual a case of which console the engine been designed around. 9/10 times this seals the win on either side.
looks sick!! i cant wait!!
I never played Crysis 1(no gaming PC, no interest to buy/build one) but bought Crysis 2 out of hype due to Crysis 1 gameplay vids on youtube, so maybe compared to the first game Crysis 2 wasn’t amazing, but I for one enjoyed the campaign immensely and the multiplayer too.
The graphics weren’t as good as Crysis 1, and I think Crysis 1 had better physics (I remember watching leaves shake as bullets shot through trees) but Crysis 2 was still an amazing game. I played it on PS3, but I’ve been hearing the 360 version was a little better, and agree from the H2H here where 360 won.
TBH I never noticed the stupid AI, or a bunch of glitches. I remember ONE glitch in the very last level where I couldn’t swap to my other weapon, but that wasn’t too big of a deal. In fact, I only recall ever running into a glitch maybe 3-4 times in my PS3′s entire lifetime. Haha even Oblivion GOTY and New Vegas ran relatively glitch free (a couple of freezing here and there).
There were some parts that I thought were just plain ugly in Crysis 2, like some cutscenes seemed to be very blurry (but I got the feeling it was on purpose and their style lol idk), and the first couple of hours of Crysis were rather boring. For me the campaign started when the earthquake occured.
IDK if I’m gonna get this game on PSN, because I’m not a big fan of PSN downloaded full games and also lack the HDD space (gotta save for Skyrim U3 ME3 you know).
And while I’m on the topic of HDD and memory, how many Gb will this game take up? It must be a behemoth of a file…
probably won’t be very large, Crysis on PC is about 6gb or so, so this should be a bit smaller.
Ps3 version will be larger due to 7:1 sound file( assuming they put it in), but dont pc files install larger than on disk file size too? I heard crysis requires 12gb of space on hard drive.
Can’t wait till I can download it I enjoyed Crysis 2 and I am sure I’ll love this
Only 20$?!?!?!?!?!? OMG! I’M SOLD!!!! Getting this first day it comes out! 20$……. CRAZY!!!
This will be interesting. Crysis 1 has huge open sandbox type levels, it will be interesting to see how the 360 and PS3 copes since they both struggled with Crysis 2s’ more linear level designs (on the frame rate front).
I was thinking the same thing… until I played Far Cry 2 on consoles and seen Far Cry 3′s footage recently and said to myself, “Although some cutback might be needed and of course this is probably going to use Cryengine3 for easy optimizations, Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 3 kinda show me a glimpse that this open sanbox jungle we call Crysis might be entirely possible on consoles. Yeah… keep talking to yourself buddy, everybody already thinks you’re crazy
…”
Of course I know those games engines are entirely different from each other…
Oh yes keep forgetting about (the disappointing) Far Cry 2. They were indeed quite open. But the Cryengine tech is definitely more advanced so it will be interesting to see what kind of cut backs will be required in order to keep the frame rate steady. Unless Crytek think 20-25fps is ok.
Glad this is coming to 360/ps3, as I bought Crysis 2 and sadly didn’t want to get all the way through the game (still stuck in the beginning) as I want to beat Crysis 1 on my PC (I’m in the final level – First screenshot above shows that I’m there currently). Well, I’m ok starting over as I loved Crysis 1 so far on my PC – $20′s is a great price and I can easily get it. Wish it was on disc but I got a big feeling that Crytek has something up their sleeves
Might I intrigue a few of you that a disc version might come up later if you think about it. Notice this is a download only of the first Crysis… What about Crysis Warhead? Might that be coming down the tubes sometime later I’m guessing since that kinda was the REAL sequel to Crysis 1. What if EA/Crytek popped Crysis Warhead sometime next year and then release a Crysis COMBO PACK on disc including both Crysis and Crysis Warhead. Think, this is EA – pull as much money from as many consumers as possible. Some of you are concerned about Crysis being download only on consoles but what if it’s a small step to a bigger plan
! No proof of course but the speculation is much more understandable if you look at it this way. Tombraider Anniversary did the same thing with it’s episodic content on 360 and later went to disc…
Very plausible, good point. Makes sense for EA to release Crysis 1 and Warhead on one disc later on. Pretty sure that will happen. Good call dude.
Please take my money!!!! I’m just waiting to see a head 2 head so I know which one to buy
From pixel counting I can confirm that the native horizontal resolution is 1280 pixels. Not sure about vertical. Probably native 720p as the image doesn’t look stretched vertically.
would be shocked if it runs at 720p tbh, as surely they would have to tile on 360 and abandon any form of aa.
Maybe use FXAA like Deus Ex? Going by those screen shots I doubt it, looks too clear.
Well it’s about $20 worth of content… if it were new. It’s a really short game and now extremely old. But I’m not surprised that they’re charging $20, they know they’ll easily get away with it.
20 bucks is a steal provided they didn’t remove any content (Like the awesome Helicopter flight at the end) – it’s a far better game than Crysis 2 so I think the price is justified.
Wonder how the PS3 version will do. The resolution drop on PS3 was a bit meh.
what? 20$ ?
sounds a little bit like a ripoff
a dual core with a 8800gt can handle crysis with a 720p res
easily!do u still have the 8800gt?
sure
i bought one on ebay for my office pc, i paid only 15 $ and i can play “easily” crysis with constant 30 fps
Here in germany the 360 version is 1€ cheaper than the ps3´s. 1600 Points = 15.99€.
