Bethesda and Arkane Studios have released the debut trailer for their upcoming action-adventure, Dishonored. The game is set in a world that blends both the past, future, and things in-between, of our reality. Dishonored is being developed for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC and currently has a release date of “2012″. Debut trailer below.
“Dishonored casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is being besieged by plague and ruled by an oppressive government armed with strange technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you abilities beyond those of any common man.”
“In Dishonored, creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine the numerous supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your enemies under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make.”

…And I Jizzed In my Pa…
Will they be able to make the game and forget the bugs?
I know the trailer is CG, but is this what next gen games will look like?
Someone pls remind me what previous games Arkane Studios are responsible for? My memory has deserted me
Arx Fatalis (2002)
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (2006)
Arx Fatalis: Collector’s Edition (2007)
BioShock 2 (2010) – design assistance
Dishonored (2012)
The Crossing (TBA)
Ah yes, Dark Messiah, that’s the game i couldn’t remember. Cheers mate. Dishonored looks very interesting. Well the concept anyway.
Damn, I like the environment, Steam punk, although different from what we’re use to seeing, as far as I can see. New ideas are always welcome.
Dark Messiah was a game with a lot of potential, it wasn’t that great, but it was pretty decent for a Source based RPG, I’m hoping this will be an open world game, not sure what it will be based on, my gut tells me they’ll use iD tech 5 engine like with Brink, if it’s like they show in the trailer, but if it’s open worlded they might go with the Creation Engine from Skyrim, although as we saw with Rage iD tech 5 can also handle big environments, it was just really linear despite it’s open world.
Huh, never mind, it’s based on the Unreal Engine.
Beautiful. Too bad that it is on first person view. Big fail. Then it’s Bethesda and I own a PS3. I can’t bother less. My precious money deserve much better!
