Ubisoft has done a lot of confirming release dates today: not only did the publisher announce a release date for Far Cry 3, but also the much anticipated Assassin’s Creed III.
You’ll be able to pick up ACIII on October 30th. The announcement came today during a call with investors. Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot says the game will be “the biggest launch in Ubisoft history.” He said the game has been in development for three years. As for the story, very little is known but we’re guessing more info will be revealed in the coming months. If you’ll recall, a few weeks ago it was reported that the game would take place during the American Revolution.
Anyone excited for this one? Let us know below.

Should be released on Dec. 21st since that’s the story direction they’re using, unless it last left off on Oct. 30th…
Here we go again CoD… except my cow isn’t going to have milk to give to Ubisoft this time around.
All of the previous AC games have been superior on PS3 and this one will no doubt follow suit. Hopefully Ubisoft will keep giving PS3 owners exclusive content like the last two.
i tell you something :
a pc smashes the ps3 down in every point of view
PS3FTW,
You really are freaking stupid.
has someone been fishing lately? because its starting to smell like COD around here.
Yeah, it’s been in development for 3 years and has been released twice so far.
Now when are we getting Assassin kart?
You’re thinking of Naughty Dog. Still waiting on an Uncharted racing game tbh. XD
ND have released 3 uncharted games in the last 4 years, that’s perfectly reasonable. Ubisoft on the other hand have taken up Call of Duty’s release schedule and are churning out the same game with minor alterations every goddamn year.
Not sure why I got thumbs down. I was saying that after every third installment of Naughty Dog’s franchises they’ll create a Mario Kart-type game for the franchise. Like Jak and Daxter racing, Crash Bandicoot.. No UC racing. :/ And I agree, I stopped playing AC after AC:B because I don’t want to play the same 7 hour game to get a different plot twist at the end every time.
I havn’t bought revelations yet.
Number 1 was great for its time, its still good. AC2 was fantastic, one of the best games this gen IMO. Brotherhood was still great, but i got bored of it after i did absolutley everything i could do. it felt more like a chore.
Brotherhood also had worse graphics than 2, less artistic diretion as well. it was all brown, and the large rome environment was too much for the engine to take, thus looking worse than AC2.
Hopefully 3 is a drastic improvement. i’m not the biggest graphics whore, but i don’t like seeing the same crap all the time.
i’ll buy revelations when its cheap, before i get 3 if it looks half good.
Ubisoft should know that this is their last shot. if they screw this up, all the people like me who hate to see this great franchise go downhill even more will drop support for good. The 3 year dev cycle better show, because frankly i think its bullshit. they are grasping straws at the moment until i see otherwise.
The bells are ringing Ubisoft.
Ok you are all ignorant really did you just say Assassins creed is on the same level as call of duty in terms of crappy games milking gamers??? WTF!! Ubisoft is dishing out every year a long and amazing game that is a joy to play and isnt a repetition like you say it is so quit being cheap and dumb and let go of your skyrim bug fest and COD bro tard fest. jeez assassins creed is historical and artistic while also keeping high quality graphics you idiots are just pissed ACR is = or even better this time around on the PS3 hahaha and Wingman you are just as much of a retard as the rest of the trolls heres the proof that PS3 is better than the Xbox 360 http://www.ign.com/articles/2010/08/26/xbox-360-vs-playstation-3-the-hardware-throwdown
It’s my strong opinion that AC:R didn’t introduce anything relevant compared to the previous games. Much better PS3 graphics apart, sure. AC II is still the best anyway. Ubi had to concentrate on improving the single player campaign and forget about the useless multiplayer. Or at least they could make a free roaming MP. Screw the maps!
