Kotaku has been sent a couple of images claiming to be from Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed III.
The images were sent to Kotaku from a Best Buy employee who says they’re taken from their employee news section. One image says Ubisoft will be unveiling Assassin’s Creed III on March 5th, while the other is promotional art from the game which looks to reveal the main character standing in front of an American flag.
Though completely unconfirmed, these images look to be the real deal, especially with the rumor going around a few months back claiming ACIII would take place during the American Revolution. Have a look and let us know what you think.
[UPDATE] It appears the leak is real and ACIII will take place during the American Revolution. Website Game Informer has accidentally placed an Assassin’s Creed III promotion into the site’s header (since removed). You can view the screen below. As is the case with most huge titles it looks like Game Informer will get the chance to reveal the game in their next issue.

LOL he looks like a badass native american.
OMFG! I’m so excited right now!
As a native american myself, i am totally excited that I’ll get to play as one in a game again. Prey was the last game that featured a native american as the main protagonist.
How can he be a native american if he is an Italian descendant? Unless he will be half and half, sure. But yet again it will obviously take Ubisoft another 2 or 3 sequels and prequels to explain all of it…
Looks somewhat similar to the cover of AC2 (differnce is that Ezio was standing and this guy is kneeling). Also, BB is the last place I would rely on concrete information (remember that fake picture what was supposedly ACIII that was to take place during the French revolution?). I’ll hold on to March 5 to see what goes down. I’m taking this with a very small grain of salt.
