The first review for Alan Wake’s American Nightmare has been published. It comes from the Official Xbox Magazine who awarded the game an 8.5. The magazine notes that play mechanics are a big step up from the original and that Remedy has fixed much of the “repetitiveness and area design issues” found in Alan Wake. In comparison, OXM awarded the original Alan Wake an 8.0.
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will be available on Xbox Live as a downloadable title only February 22nd.

Wow, coming from a publication that basically gives every 360 exclusive a perfect score, this is kindof a bad sign for this game…
Yes viagramarine, the original got 8.0 from them, this new one has scored higher.
Most of us loved the original, so this must be amazing

I agree, Alan Wake was, in my opinion, one of the most underrated games.
I think it still is a beautiful game.
I won’t take this new one though, because I am against the “only DD way”.

Don’t worry, I’ll have fun with all the exclusives coming on PS3 and at the end of this month I will have fun with my PS Vita.
Oh, and by the way: all in good old discs and cartridges.

my birthday is on the 22nd…..just sayin. although it will be my birthday, i wont get this as i need to finish off the dlc from the first (even the signal, which came free).
Alan wake is pne of those specia games i put next to the likes of bioshock (original) and assassins creed 2.
amazing game and amazing story. quite possibly the best xbox exclusive IMHO.
I’m witing to get the DLCs when the game comes out (I’m expecting a price drop for them in celebration)
After that comment, i went and got the last 3 signs in the game, and dd the mirror eak in less than 30 minutes achievement.
Just need to beat it on nightmare difficulty.
And yeh, i was hoping ‘the writer’ dlc would get a price drop. i only have 300ms points and if it went half price, that would make it cost 280ms points.
God i hate it when they money grab like that. what am i gonna do with the leftover points? AAAARRRGHHHH.
Alan Wake is alright but I think xbox fans overreact to it just because they finally get an xbox exclusive that isnt Forza, Gears, or halo.
Alan Wake is on PC too, and I am sure also this one will come on PC as well.
So, no exclusive here.

On another note, dont really count on this staying exclusive. Just like teh first alan wake this will most likely end up better on the PC anyway withina couple of months
