Anyone who owned an NES and enjoys the great game of Football knows what the Tecmo Bowl series is all about. Football…and having a great time! The original two NES Tecmo Bowls were monumental in their release for including the names of real NFL Teams and Players.  For its 16-bit entry Tecmo got to use the power the SNES to create the ultimate Football game…or did they? retro Review: Street Fighter Alpha 2

With the SFA series, Capcom was able to fill in the backstory for many of our favorite characters pasts’ from SF2. It also gave the company the means of delivering us another set of 2D fighters unparalleled by its rivals. While the original SFA never made its way to the Super NES, a much better game somehow did – Street Fighter Alpha 2. Find out if this one’s worth the search (or Virtual Console download) in our latest retro Review.

retro Review: Super Return of the Jedi
The circle is now complete. With the release of Super Return of the Jedi on the Wii VC, LucasArts has completed another re-release of the  Super Star Wars trilogy. Perfect reason to force grab the old SNES “Jedi” cart and pop it in for some trilogy ending closure, SNES style. Having missed this one in my youth, I was eager to see if SRotJ could redeem the series from the wasted idea that was Super Empire Strikes Back - a game that should have been much better than a 7.5. Join me, and I will complete your SSW training… in this retro Review.

retro Review: The Adventures of Batman & Robin

Batman: Arkham Asylum is looking like one of this year’s “must have” titles. With its awesome graphics, voice acting, and combat system, Edios plans on putting gamers right in the middle of Batman’s dark world – a trip I can’t wait to take. But as retro fans should know, we didn’t have to wait that long for a truly satisfying Batman experience – because Konami gave us one in 1994 with the underrated gem The Adventures of Batman & Robin for the SNES. Don’t believe me? Well, you’ll find all the proof you need inside this retro Review (no X-Ray Goggles needed).

retro Review: Super Punch-Out!!

Continuing on with their trend of adding “Super” to the titles of new games, Nintendo delivered Super Punch-Out!!. Little Mac returns to try and become the champ yet again. He will face many new opponents with unorthodox fighting styles as well as  some old friends making their return to the ring . Check out this retro review to see if Mac can become the World Champ or if he fails to make weight.
